Luke helplessly squatted down to look at his sister, saying patiently, “We can’t care about mommy’s love life recklessly.”
“I’m not!” Lily flattened her mouth, “You always think I don’t know anything, but I think daddy likes mommy, or why would he play with us?”
“Well, did you know that mommy and uncle Ku used to be together?”
Lily was amazed, “What? Mommy and daddy have been together?”
Luke nodded, “But now they’re separate, do you know why?”
Lily shook her head honestly.
How would she know? She didn’t even know that they had been together until now.
Luke sat down next to her, “It’s a bit complicated. You may not understand even if I explain. There are many misunderstandings that you can’t solve.”
“Is it complicated?” Lily furrowed as she muttered, “Why do adults have so many complicated things. Can’t they just be together if they like each other?”
“That’s why they’re adults,” Luke reached out and straightened his sister’s messy bangs, “Have some ice cream?”
