I lost him too

The next morning, her stepmother got up with a headache and she took medicine to reduce headache. She came outside where she met with silence, she found it rare. And she wailed to know if there was anyone present in the house. Neither Lisa's dad nor Lisa made any sound to let her know about their presence.

"Where are you both?" her stepmother asked in case she got any response but no, she didn't. So, she thought of calling Lisa because she was hungry and wanted Lisa to make her breakfast. But she didn't pick her call. Her stepmother thought of going to her room but she found that she was not there. She went to her dad's room. Yes, they didn't share the same room because they were not married but Lisa was unaware of that fact. Her dad was also not there in his room, she checked the time and realised that it was afternoon. So, Lisa must be in school and her dad for work.

She didn't know that Lisa knew about her business. Soon she listened to the sound of the front door opening. There was Lisa's dad, he came inside and sat on the couch ignoring her presence. He sighed and closed his eyes.

"Can I know where you are coming from at this time because I can see that you didn't go to work," she asked expecting a reply from him but he didn't bother to answer.

She yelled at him, " Where the fuck you were?"

He stood up and within a second, she felt a sting of pain on her cheek.

"Can you let me live for once? I'm tired of you," he said whereas she couldn't believe that he slapped her. She got angry and choked his throat without any warning. He flinched with that and tried to escape from her grip.

"You slapped me without knowing the consequences that you would face after," she said.

After few seconds, she released him and pushed him back. Then, she went back to her room but stopped midway when she heard him saying.

"I don't think that I can work for you anymore," he said facing the opposite side of her.

"Huh?" she pretended as if she didn't hear him. Then he said aloud enough to make her listen clearly. "I don't think that I can work for you anymore."

"And you think I will let you go. I'm not stupid I know that after I will make you go and you will tell the police about my business," she said.

"Kill me or anything but I don't want to live like this," he said, tears formed in his eyes.

"As you wish," she said and went to the drawer to take out her gun from there.

She pointed a gun at his forehead and said, "Think again before I shoot you." He didn't reply to her. So, she took his silence as yes. After a while, Lisa entered the house but soon she heard the sound of the gun firing.

She ran to know who was there but she saw her dad's body on the floor surrounded by blood. She fell on her knees and tried to wake up him but she failed. Then, she heard the voice of her stepmother said, "He wanted to die so, I made his wish come true." while holding a glass of water.

"I beg you please take him to the hospital, I already lost my mother but not him," Lisa managed to say with her cracked voice but she didn't respond to her. So, Lisa took out her phone and dialed the number to call an ambulance but her stepmother snatched her phone from her hands and threw it out of the house.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Lisa yelled.

She fell on her knees and begged for her dad's life. She pushed her with one of her legs and went to the room. Lisa didn't know what to do. So, she went to call Louis for help.

Soon an ambulance came and took his dead body to the hospital. They took his body to the emergency room for operation. Lisa was crying so hard. Louis did the formalities and came to see if the doctor was done with the operation. She hugged her and gave her hope that her dad would be fine but they didn't know that he was gone for life.

After waiting for 30 minutes, the doctor came out of the room. Lisa asked him about her dad but she got no response from him. With a sorry, he went away from there. Lisa couldn't imagine that she lost her dad. She asked Louis in case she heard the doctor wrong.

"Louis, what did he say I think I heard him wrong?" Lisa asked in the hope that Louis will deny but Louis moved his face as a sign of no.

She fell on the floor, tears were flowing down from her eyes. A tear also fell from Louis's eye. She yelled in pain asking her dad to come back. She had no one around her to love then.

She was sad but also angry over that bitch who killed her parents without any fault.

She entered the house, calling out her name but no one respond. She went into her room but she wasn't there too. She called her but no one picked up.

She went into her room for having some time alone. She opened her drawer to take out her earphones but there she found a letter. She opened that.

"I know I did wrong in past and I regret it a lot. I wish I could never meet your stepmother but fate had something different for me. I would ask you only for one thing and that is to forgive me for all the lies that I told you. I never told you about these because I was afraid that I would lose you too and I did. I lost you. I didn't have any courage to face you after. I wanted to get out of her business but wasn't able to. I don't know that whether you will read my letter or not but still I wrote because I was in pain and wanted to let go of this burden. Quite a lot have been said about love but I was so stupid to let it go in front of me.

At last, I will tell you one truth about your stepmother that I never got married to her but I wanted to give you a good life so, I agreed with her and got enough money for you to send you school. I want you to forget about everything and start a new life somewhere else. And remember I always loved you more than anything."

She read the letter and cried a lot. She lost both of them whom she loved more than her life. "I wish that you both meet up there and stay together forever. I miss you both so much," she said that made Lisa cry in pain. Soon she fell asleep without any realisation.

After an hour, Louis came to see and saw her sleeping. A sad smile crept on his lips, he went beside her and took that letter from her hand and read that. After he finished reading, he looked at Lisa and gave a peck on her forehead. He promised her dad, "I will always stay with her no matter what."

She felt uncomfortable so, she opened her eyes. She found Louis looking at her face but soon he turned his gaze in another direction. "How are you feeling," he asked Lisa. "Fine," Lisa said sadly.

He wiped tears from her face and asked her to go for a walk because that would make her feel better but she said something that made him shocked. When she said that she has no one to love. Louis was hurt because he always loved her as a best friend from the start but made her think that way.

"Lisa, don't think that way because I love you, " Louis said trying to make Lisa feel relaxed and loved. He held her hand and promised her one thing.

"I promise I will never leave you," Louis said which made Lisa smile.

"Thank you for always staying at my side, I don't want to lose someone like you," Lisa replied to him. After that, they both went for a walk holding each other's hands and talking about some random stuff. Lisa always felt good to have Louis by her side but she never realised that she started praising his presence in life more than just a best friend.

He made her laugh by telling her about his funny experiences in past. Louis asked if she remembered the first day of their meeting.

She hummed in response and laughed at the same time. "I feel embarrassed whenever I remember that day," Louis said with a laugh.

"You were so cute back then," Lisa said squeezing both cheeks.

"What about now?" Louis asked with a pout on his face.

"I can't say about now," Lisa said.

"I hate you," Louis said with a disappointed face. "But just an hour ago you said you loved me," Lisa said with a long face.

"That's the reason why I can't hate you because I love you so much," Louis said with a big smile on his face.

After some time, Louis asked Lisa to go to her house because it was getting dark. But Lisa became sad and said, "I don't want to face that lady anymore."

"Then where you will sleep?" Louis asked her.

"Of course at your place," Lisa said and laughed a little.

Louis agreed with her and went towards his house.
