The next day, she bit her bottom lips as the pain made its way to her lower stomach, taking a deep breath, she tried to ignore it and closed her eyes again in need of sleep but the pain wouldn't let her that easily.
"Why is it hurting so much?" she thought to herself and tried to call him by tapping on his shoulder.
"Louis?" she said.
"Please get up?" she pleaded again and began to feel anxious that the labour was starting, "Louis_" she sat up and pulled the blanket off him and shook his shoulder. Due to sudden irritation, he opened his eyes and sleepily rubbed them trying to get over the blurry view in front.
"What happened?" he asked without taking a glance at her.
"Help me," she whined and Louis turned to her looked at her fragile figure.
"What happened?"
"Are you having pain again?" he added.
"No, but I guess it's birth time," she whispered,
Louis quickly rolled his eyes and turned to her, taking in his arms with one holds and another one dialled his mother's number.
"What happened? Why are you calling me early in the morning?" his mother said?
"Mom, please come to our room. Lisa is having pain and I think it is time for baby," he said in a worried tone.
"Alright, take care of her. I'm on my way to your room," his mother said, hanging up the call. She hurriedly grabbed the phone and moved out of the room. His mother started to live with them because of the same reason.
Louis got up from bed and kicked the blanket in hurry, quickly grabbing a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt.
"Louis, it's getting worse. Take me to the hospital," she whimpered, as her stomach tightened again. Dropping the shoes, he rushed beside her.
"You good?" he asked.
Not being able to answer, she nodded in disagreement. He tucked a thread of her hair behind her back.
Hearing the knock on the door, his mother entered into after Louis said.
"Are you alright?" she asked and tried to calm her down by rubbing her hand on her forehead.
"Louis, take her down and I'm coming up with the car," his mother said and moved downstairs to get into the car.
While Louis helped her to get into clean pants and holding her in arms, he carefully got off the stairs, making sure to step on each stair without hurting her.
Heeding the sound of the horn, he opened the front door with his leg and climbed inside the car.
"Mom, come to the back. I will drive," he said.
"No, sit with her, I will do the driving. Don't worry_" she sounded.
"Give me the keys," she said, taking the keys from him. She picked up the bag and rushed to get inside the car after helping him to place Lisa carefully inside the car.
Rubbing her belly in the whole drive, Louis grew worried after watching her in pain.
"Ready to meet your child," his mother said excitedly and got off the car as they reached the hospital. After letting her words fall in his ears, he realised that they had reached the hospital.
"Don't worry, you will be out of pain after a while," Louis mumbled and picked her up in a bridal style.
Helping her with the hospital gown and onto the bed, he sat beside her, holding her hands. She also reached for his hands and passed him a smile.
"Don't worry, everything will be fine," she mumbled and looked at both of them, who were worried for her as the baby gonna be out before the time. It was one week before so, Louis was getting worried for the baby as well as for Lisa.
"I'm so happy for both of you," the mother said, she came towards her and pecked her forehead.
"Stay strong," she added.
Nodding at her words, Lisa smiled at her. They were very excited to see the baby girl as it could be seen on their faces. She thanked God for watching them like that and she also remembered her parents.
"It is the time, mom when you will see your granddaughter, coming into this world from up. Please send some love to her as well as me. I love you both but at the same time, I am carving for you. I wish you were here beside me and take your granddaughter in your arms.
I'm missing you so much," she whispered those words under her breath and closed her eyes, gently rubbing her hand over her baby bump, rubbing at the bottom she felt that her stomach was tight. Taking a deep breath, she tried to bear her pain and some tears left her eyes, noticing that he wiped them off.
"Everything will be alright, be like a brave mother for our child," he soothed, bringing your hand to his lip, kissing it slowly.
"I'm going out for a while to meet the doctor," his mother said, before leaving the room. He looked and nodded instantly. And passed a smile to Lisa.
His mother was looking for the doctor because she was worried about the baby. Entering her room, she sat on a chair and started to let go of her worry.
"Hello, doctor, I'm here to ask you something," she talked.
"What is it?"
"As the baby is coming before the time. So, is there something wrong? It is making me worried about her," she spoke and paused for her reply.
Putting their hand on her shoulder, the doctor smiled and said, "It's normal. I have seemed many cases when the child has come out before the time. So, there isn't anything to worry about. And I have done her check-ups and the child is healthy. There is nothing wrong,"
Taking a breath of relief, she got up and thanked her.
"Thank you so much for telling this,"
After some time, it was getting harder for her to handle the pain. Louis sat beside the bed as you laid down in pain.
Moaning in pain as the pain started to hit her back and make her cry in pain.
"It's okay, I'm here for you," he said. She squeezed his hand as it was getting harder to breathe under pain.
"It's painful, Louis. I can't," she mumbled, tears filling her eyes.
"Please help me, I'm tired," she added.
His heart broke at the sight of her like that and not knowing what to do.
"Just take a deep breath," he whispered, removing your tears.
"I know that you are hurt but you can't take the pain medication without the doctor's guidance," he said.
She sniffed and looked at him for a while. After asking the doctor for it, she decided to get a low-dose epidural, which would help you to get relief from your back pain.
When the doctor injected the anaesthetic into her lower back, she sighed and closed her eyes as the pain got away.
"Try to get some sleep," he spoke, leaving a peck on her cheek while trying to hold his tears, he quickly wiped it off.
"Louis, do you need to go outside, I will stay with her," his mother said, getting in the room. And walked her to the bed.
"I'm fine, mom," he said and smiled.
Watching her sleeping, he looked at his mother and let go of words.
"I know the process is painful but it's hard to see her like that, mom," he sniffed.
Putting a hand on his shoulder, she tried to relax him.
"I am just so thankful that now I will have a family and see her out of pain," he added and turned his gaze to her.
"I understand but she knows that you can't help with pain but staying by her is enough for her. She needs you. So, don't think much, it will be over soon," she replied.
"It's good you are here otherwise I don't know how I would take care of the things,"
"You did your best for her and I'm proud to have you as my son,"
"Thank you, mom,"
"Don't worry," his mother said and gave him a small hug which he returned.
After two hours, she opened her eyes and found him sleeping beside her. Gently she caressed his head and adored him.
But that was enough to wake up him, he rubbed his eyes and found her looking at him.
"What are you looking at?"
"My child's daddy,"
He giggled and pecked her lips.
"Thank you," she spoke.
"Don't,"
The second he spoke that word left his mouth, one of the monitors started to make a beeping sound and the next thing she remembered was being wheeled out of the room by a nurse.
"What happened?" he asked one of the nurses.
"It's delivery time," the nurse muttered.
"But she didn't have pain," he added.
"It's not mandatory because she was surrounded by machine and every movement of the baby is examined, it's nothing to worry about," the nurse and rushed into her way.
"It will be alright," he whispered looking into her way and then the light of the operation room turned on.
"Please, God help me," she mumbled after getting inside the room.
After sitting there, in worry, Louis heard the sound of the door opening and quickly got up from his chair.
"She is asking you inside," the nurse and he ran inside.
Looking at her crying figure who was crying out of pain but he fastened his movement to hold her hand and rubbed her forehead to calm her down. It went for some time and within minutes she felt some pressure and then the cries of her child fell into her ears.
The nurse quickly cut the cord and handed the baby beside her. Lisa's heart began beating fast.
"My little," she cried out and with tearful eyes, she looked at her child.
"My two little girls," Louis mumbled in happiness, wrapping the baby in a white blanket and taking her in his arms.
"My girl is just as beautiful as her mother," he said.
Lisa embracing the moments of him with their baby girl.
"My little Ava," he spoke and glanced at Lisa.
She was surprised to listen to that name and tears filling her eyes.
"I know you miss your mom but I tried to help you a little by naming our girl with the same name," he expressed and kissed her forehead and then the newborn's forehead
I love you," she mumbled.
"Love you both," he said.
