After dinner, Mark put his sister to sleep in her room and returned back to his own room. He laid down on his bed and opened his phone. He quickly logged into his account and saw that he only had about 2800 Units right now.

That was nearly 3 months' worth of savings after spending the rest of just food and other utilities. He never wasted money on unnecessary snacks, clothes, techs, or even simple transportation. He did whatever he could to save money, and yet, it only amounted to 2800 Units.

"Can I even collect the 9000 units for the rent in 2 weeks?" he wondered. He opened his calendar and gained a bit of happiness as he saw some hope in there. Starting tomorrow for 3 different days till Thursday, he would have writing and practical exams.

If he managed to do well in those, he could graduate easily and get offers from high-ranking guilds. He could perhaps even get into the top guilds if he managed to ace the exams.

"I didn't get any experience today either, did I?" Mark thought. Still, he held some hope and opened the status page.

A Blue transparent screen appeared in front of him that only he could see. It wrote everything he needed to about his own self.

He was really hoping for some experience, but it seemed it was 0% for today as well. "Not even my goblin leveled up. How does the dungeon even know I didn't fight?" he wondered.

In the end, he decided to let go of such thoughts and fell asleep.

One day, years ago, Dungeons suddenly sprung up all over the world. The government at the time sent in brave men and women who figured out that these dungeons contained monsters from another world or reality.

They fought against those monsters desperately for their survival, but the monsters were just too strong to defeat and humanity was close to giving up.

However, the dungeons also brought the advent of mana. Mana was an Unnoticeable, Unquantifiable type of energy that spread across the entire earth. After that, people started awakening with screens in front of them, gaining powers they could never get before, bringing a new wave of hope across all Humanity.

That was over 18 years ago.

Mark woke up early in the morning to prepare breakfast for himself and his sister. He woke up his sister and got her to wash her face and brush her teeth. After that, they ate breakfast together.

Mark then let his sister stay in front of the TV with a note in hand that held instructions for her to locate a certain video on TV and play it. He did that just in case she lost her memories once more when he wasn't around.

After making sure that she had food to eat when she was hungry, he left for the academy.

The academy was not very far away. It was only about 15 minutes' walk from his home. He reached his school and found his exam hall where he would take the written test. More students started to come, but since he never had time to socialize with the students in the academy, he had no friends.

Once the questions arrived, he started writing the answers.

The questions progressed from easy to hard, starting off with easy questions for F-ranked hunters and going up to B-rank in difficulty.

Ranging from simple questions such as which Monster aligned with which role, to an elaborate method to fight against such monsters. It also had a lot of historical questions and a lot of hypotheticals to check the graduating hunter's morality.

'Radius of land away from the dungeon where you can summon your monsters? Heh, nice trick question. You can't summon them outside the dungeon unless there is a dungeon break within 5 KM,' he thought and completed the answers.

Once he was done with the exam, he walked out of the exam hall and went to the same F-Rank dungeon about 15 minutes away.

Once he was there, he got in the line of porters and waited for people to come by and pick him. After 20 minutes or so of waiting, a group of 5 finally came.

It consisted of 3 young men and 2 women and they picked him as their porter.

"Do we really need a porter? Can't we carry our own stuff?" the younger of the 2 girls asked.

"Don't you know storage devices don't work inside the dungeon? Anything made using mana stone doesn't work in there," one of the men said.

"I know that, I'm not stupid. I was talking about one of us using our own monsters to carry the items. That way we won't need a porter right?" she said.

"Oh and you want to experience, is it? Don't you know that if you don't take part in the fight, you don't get any experience?" the man asked again.

"Oh sh*t, that's right. I completely forgot. Hehe, never mind then," she said and turned towards Mark and said, "Alright then, Welcome to the party, little brother. We will be going through this dungeon all day today. I hope you have the stamina."

Mark smiled and said, "Thank you for letting me know. I'm used to being a porter all day, so I am fine with multiple runs through the dungeon."

"Hey, looks like we got ourselves an experienced porter," said the older woman.

"Alright, no more wasting time. We are going in now," the eldest man who was silent till now finally spoke. After that, they all walked to the dungeon portal.

Just before reaching the portal, Mark took out a giant bag from his storage ring and took it with him inside. Since he couldn't use the ring inside, he had to use it right here.

Once they walked inside, all 6 of them started summoning different colored marbles and they turned into various different monsters.

There was a Tiger-like monster, a Kobold with a spear, a slime, a monkey with a sword, and surprisingly, A hobgoblin. It even belonged to the youngest of them all.

'Damn, from the looks of it, she should be a first-timer in the dungeon. If so, then she must be really rich to buy a Hobgoblin Marble. Those things cost a fortune for non-hunters,' he thought.

They proceeded through the dungeon for a few minutes before they came across a goblin. The goblin wasn't that strong and died in a few hits from the different monsters. They fought a few more goblins and Mark came to a conclusion about their fighting style.

'It's trash. They have no unity when they fight. Everyone is doing their own thing. Also, The team composition is quite bad. Seriously, Why are there 4 attack-aligned monsters and only 1 defense aligned? Although this party should be more than enough for an F-rank dungeon, they should have brought at least a single support or speed-aligned monster to help them.'

'Sigh, I shouldn't judge them like that. I do not know what circumstances they are under. maybe they do want a proper team, but the rest of the members can't afford it. I shouldn't think about it for now,' he said to himself.

The group kept moving forward.
