Perfect Ain't Real

Elys and the prince were waiting inside their respective chambers in the Jade Palace. It was a separate building from the one that the Eastern Queen used to receive visitors and did her work.

The palace wasn't as posh as that of the Western Kingdom, but it did boast a variety of rare plants growing from the walls up to the ceiling. Their carpet was that of soft grass, a patch of tiny flowers blooming here and there.

Elys couldn't help but be in awe at the beauty of the Jade Palace. She had assumed it had to be adorned with jade stones as what the name suggested, but it actually leaned more on the color scheme of the place.

"I don't like this place," the prince grimaced as he lifted a bowl of salad that a servant left for them to snack on. "I will never be able to live a vegetarian life."

"I never thought that this was what the Eastern Kingdom had inside their heavily protected walls," Elys commented. "It is beautiful here. Calming even."
