Elys was too stunned to speak a single word in response to what Cordelia said. She couldn't believe that her trusted maidservant could say something like that to her. Hadn't the two of them already spoken about the same thing just moments ago?
Cordelia had even given her words of encouragement.
"What kind of nonsense are you spouting, Cordelia?" Aleksander asked her.
The vampire king pulled Elys towards him as he noticed his wife had turned to stone with what her 'trusted' and 'loyal' maidservant had said to her.
"I meant what I said, and I am not saying any nonsense here," the old woman spoke.
Her eyes stared at the young king as if he was the devil incarnate, her disapproval more than just obvious with the way she looked at Aleksander.
Hearing the words Cordelia said, Aleksander couldn't help but scoff.
