Chapter 4

Near the bank of the stream, a young barefoot child dressed in fur clothing is seen laying down on a fur hammock tied and supported by two nearby trees. With what seems to be a make-shift fishing rod stuck tight between two rocks.

"Haaaaaaah… this is the life! staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaats..." He yawned and stretched.

I've finally reached LV7 but it's way too slow. I only have 10 days to complete the mission and all the fanged squirrels I met on the way downstream are in packs of five which seemed to give me more bonus exp and cp.

It was weird seeing packs of fanged squirrels after being used to fight them when they're alone. Maybe the area I was in was their bachelors' area and now I'm in their suburbs? Anyway I was able to kill tons of them and even got a talent called Lesser Monster Slayer after killing my hundredth kill which boosts the exp I gain from killing Lesser tiered beasts by 25%.

However, not being able to complete the mission bothers me. It seems hopeless even if I already killed at least 30 packs of Fanged squirrels... at this point there's nothing much I can do. Even though the system did not provide any penalties on the mission failure I can't really fully trust something that's my parasite. Sigh, It's not my fault that the free lucky spin you gave me turned to nothing! I'm such a shame to all my overpowered seniors who annihilated clans within their first few days or did some miraculous stunt with their golden fingers to slap everyone's faces.

What face could I even slap here? Mine or these squirrels?

Thud!

I suddenly heard something crashing into a few trees further away from me. I quickly got up and crept quietly towards the direction of the sound to investigate. Hiding in the bushes I peek a glance towards an open canopy and saw a huge boar, two meters tall while slumped in front of a large tree lying on its belly and panting heavily.

I could hear hissing and faint steps towards the trees in front of me. A smooth reptile-like creature was creeping slowly towards the huge boar, it was red-orange with black speckles. It was a meter tall and six-ish meters from its head to the tip of its curled tail. It seemed to release a noxious gas when its forked tongue pokes out.

Even though the huge boar and the reptile which I'll call salamander for now since it looks like one despite its size, look fearsome I didn't really sense fear towards them. I could take them out is what I felt, though I would have a hard time taking on them both it still looks doable. I am confident of the meager strength I managed to gain in this world this past few months. However, my battle plan on taking them out one by one fails to fall into fruition when the huge boar suddenly sprung up and sprinted towards the bushes where I hid.

Crap! I could get knocked out if I get hit with its sudden charge so I jumped up on impulse immediately as I couldn't dodge sideways due to the huge boar's width and me being surrounded by small trees that could've obstructed my movement.

"Uweeeeek!" the boar squealed in shock but it continued charging forward. I grabbed ahold of its mane and held it for dear life as it bolted towards the edge of the stream. The salamander slithered in our direction just as fast as the huge boar charging.

"Mister Boar, I hope I know where you're going because if not we'll be muddling through the stream." I said to the frantic beast, but it just grunted and charged faster. The salamander was fast catching up, it started spitting saliva which corroded the vegetation where it landed on. The huge boar was hit on its buttocks which made it squeal again and sprint faster.

"Faster! Brother Boar! It's gonna catch up to us!" I shouted at the squealing boar, In the heat of the moment I completely forgot that I could just let go and face the Salamander by myself. The boar, who seemingly understands me, ramped up its speed and dashed faster with force. It was like the boar was a certain Eyeshield back in my world. It directed itself towards an upward rock on the edge of the stream and leaped at the tip of the edge.

"Boar-bro, I believe in you!" I believed in Boar-bro, That he could fly and he could touch the sky. With its large and stubby figure, the boar desperately reached out with its hooves hoping to cross to the other side of the stream.

The salamander watched in awe as never in its memories as well as its ancestors' memories imprinted into it throughout the long course of history, had it witnessed such a glorious scene that will be etched in its brain always reminding it that boars can actually fly.

However, dreams don't last that long. The boar and I fell into the stream. I tried swimming towards the shore on the other side but the current of the stream was too strong. The boar couldn't swim well and was like a boat sailing fast. The salamander hesitated for a bit then it dove into the stream and swam agilely towards us.

It was then that I noticed that we were fast approaching rapids. The boar bounced in the rapids like a pinball and I protected my head while trapped in the fast flowing white waters. The salamander disappeared as it swam down.

Once we exited out of the rapids, the stream steadily increased its flow. We were flowing into a waterfall. The salamander popped back up and frantically swam to shore, it didn't have a problem doing so. I grabbed a stray branch and tried climbing it but suddenly the mountain of a boar who was desperately swimming against the flow, knocked me into the water again. We fell into the waterfall.

I then woke up groggily in a damp cave. My head hurt but I was lucky that the fall wasn't bad. The cave entrance was hidden at the bottom of the waterfall, but I can't go through it and get out due to the crashing water from above partnered with jagged rocks beneath, with 1 LUK I was seriously lucky not to turn into minced meat. I have to find another way out.

I then glanced around and found Boar-bro staring at me. He was lucky as well, he then turned his head as if asking to follow him. We then walked into a path further going inside of the cave.

After a few minutes the path then ended in a spacious area filled with glowing moss of all colors. We weren't alone as I sensed multiple creatures creeping towards us. Boar-bro also tightened his stance, ready to charge at a moment's notice.

An opening is located at the upper part of the area where a large shadow lay. It opened its eyes which looked like two large beads, similar to the eyes of the salamander before but larger. Suddenly many small beady eyes popped out, they were salamanders which were slightly smaller but nevertheless gigantic compared to ones in my world. These ones had varying colors but none of them had the same color from the one before. They slowly approached us, hissing quietly with their forked tongues. The vibe became tense as there were hundreds, possibly a thousand of them.

The large shadow then slowly showed its huge frame, it had the same color and speckles like the salamander before but this thing was upscaled at least four times. It also had a forked tongue but it spat out flames from time to time.

"SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" roared the giant already-giant salamander, its compatriots hissed at both Boar-bro and I. Stuck deep in enemy lines, I prepared for the worst and put all my points into LUK, bought a Dragon coin which reduced my cp to 761.

I went to the spin tab and then tapped the 1x spin button. The Wheel turned on what was a few seconds but seemed like eternity. It then stopped at the Rare section! Blessed by The RNG-Gods, I opened the prize which was a Rare dragon scroll.

I immediately clicked on "Learn" as it had the option and a pop up appeared in front of me.
