6.First assignment

Roru Chikara POV.

Wow! I kept thinking while returning to my room. This place is really awesome. Everything about it is just magnificent. Ever since grandfather told me that I would one day be in a place where everyone is like me, a world where I don't have to hide my true abilities I couldn't wait to come here, and now with everything I have seen and experienced so far, It has not disappointed in the slightest.

I really miss grandfather though, I wonder what he might be doing now? Spring is usually the time where he starts to go out to the garden and raise his flowers, so I bet he has something to keep him busy, I can't wait to see him again, wait! I was in such a rush to head out to this school that I didn't even ask him when I would see him again? I have so many questions about this world, the Chikara, my powers and my parents.

"Ughh whatever" I said out loud, with my hands covering my face in an attempt to free myself from this feeling of somberness, curiosity and perplexity.

While approaching the door that would take me out of the Endo educational sector, I noticed that this passage was absolutely marvelous. With purple and blue gemstones embedded within the walls and strange writings that I could not decipher written within them. The ceiling was filled with iris looking plants that were said to light up whenever it is dark.

"Beautiful isn't it?" Startled by the strange voice I had just heard behind me, I quickly turned back to face the person behind me.

"Woah, slow down young one, I mean you no harm" the stranger said in a chuckling voice.

Irritated by his giddiness I asked "Who are you?". Giving me a warm smile the person then came to my left side and looked at a purple gemstone in the wall as if he has never seen them before.

The man, with his auburn hair tied in a bun, a long nose and a pale face that made his green eyes pop only had one arm.

"I am whoever you want me to be"

"What does that mean?" I asked. Then man only proceeded to ignore the question as if he hadn't heard it at all.

"What do you think of our technology?"

Realizing that the man probably won't talk about what I want to talk about I answered.

"It seems weird to me, I haven't seen anything like it ever in my life"

"You are used to human technology, that is if we can even call those primitive mechanisms technology in the first place"

Confused I replied" Primitive? I thought they were pretty advanced"

" Of course you would think so seeing how you yourself are primitive, you mind is still that of a human, and in this world that will get you killed very easily Chikara or not"

"What exactly is this world?" I asked

"This is the real world" The man then proceeded to pull the gemstone he was observing out of the wall, when doing so however the walls seemed as if they were resisting the man's pull. "Human technology is indeed primitive, primitive because it attempts to replicate nature, everything they have produced is just a replica of what already exists shaped into a mechanical form" the man held the gemstone in his hand as it seemed to lose color. "Human technology replicates nature while our technology is nature, we possess the power to take the natural aspects of our world and give them a purpose, something to live for"

"Live?" I asked the man

"We have an ignorant one in our midst, but unfortunately that is all the time I have for you and our little encounter" the man then proceeded to offer his right hand for a handshake which I received, while shaking his hand, my eyes couldn't help but look at the shoulder where his left hand was supposed to be.

As if reading my mind the man responded while looking at his shoulder

"This is merely a result of a bad decision in war, one of many in fact" after the handshake the man then patted my shoulder then said "Not a hint of pity huh? I like that, do avoid making bad decisions young one" he then proceeded to walk away in the direction of the classes of the educational sector. I walked back to my dorm room while thinking about that strange encounter the whole time, "this place sure has a lot of mysteries" I said while shaking my head. I then proceeded to let out a yawn, "Mystery is tiresome"

I arrived at the door to my dorm and proceeded to open it, the doors here were different from the ones in the human world, the doors here used a different mechanism gave me a certain chill in my body while giving off a cracking sound while it radiated a purple hue, Danilia had told me that the doors use the purple light to scan the person at the door, she said that the doors were "told" who to open for and who not to, meaning only a select group of people in the University had access to my room and the chill down my spine was just something that I would get used to as I used the doors more.

As soon as I opened my room a pillow was thrown in my face, "Haha we got him, told you he was slow" to my surprise I found Theon and Lilith in my room. Theon, all giddy and jumpy was waving his right hand triumphantly in the air while Lilith was laughing while holding her stomach and pointing. "What are you guys doing here and how did you get in?"

"She let us in" Lilith said, looking to my left while still in a state paradoxical laughter. Looking to my left I saw Danilia seated in a chair with her legs crossed. "And how did you get in? looking at Danilia. " I was given permission by Sir Maxwell, he spoke to Gilbert and he gave me access. "Who the hell is Maxwell and why does he get to decide who has access to me. Danilia stiffened, she has always been very timid around me and I have no idea why, seeing as she grew up in this environment, seems to be in her thirties, she's probably stronger than me. "You really take clueless to another level?" Lilith said

"Army Chief, General Maxwell Luther Chikara is the head of the Chikara clan and one of the strongest beings in this world" Theon said while picking up the pillow from the floor.

"So he's the one who controls everything?" "Within the Chikara clan yes"

"But why would a general have the highest authority, wouldn't it make more sense for a king to rule or something?" "King's do rule" Theon responded "It's just that in this world strength is the true ruling factor, so the strongest member of your clan is offered the highest none royal position, Your army chief is the strongest clan member therefore he has absolute authority in your clan. The noble family has authority and strength as well, their role is not only a ceremonial one, the only thing they cannot do is go against your army chief"

I paused as I processed the information Theon just relayed. "So what happens when a noble is the strongest member" I asked "if that's the case then that specific member of the noble family becomes the Army chief and no matter what branch they are from they are dubbed king or queen. The true royal family goes back into power only when the strongest member is no longer a noble". Amazed by his knowledge I asked Theon how he knows so much about my clan to which he responded "This works for every clan, although with different honorifics the systems are usually the same with a few differences here and there" "It's also all common knowledge, one of the few things that every clan knows about each other" Lilith added

"So Danilia, why were you given access to my room anyway" Danilia immediately stood up froze in a sad attempt to form a sentence. "It's because she's your servant you idiot" Lilith said. "My servant? why would the academy give each of us an servant?" Lilith responded, "She wasn't given to you by the academy you idiot, she was given to you by Maxwell obviously, what kind of resources do you think this academy has to be able to provide every student with a personal servant?" "Servants are only given to the children of us true bloods" Theon added " So you guys have uhh servants?" I asked, hesitant to say the word.

"Of course, you aren't the only one who's a true blood after all". Coming to the realization that I still didn't know why they were here I asked, "What are you two doing here anyway?" Theon as if he were struck by a bolt of lightning said "Oh that's right, we came to get you, for our first assignment" "First assignment, isn't it a little too early for that?" I asked confused. "Incase you haven't noticed, things work differently here" Theon replied. "We asked for this one" Lilith said with a wide smile on her face "Well, I did since I'm the leader of this little unit..." "You're no leader of mine Hekima" Theon said while rudely throwing himself on my bed. Lilith looked at me as if urging me to support her, I simply proceeded to point at Theon who was wrinkling my sheets and responded, "What he said"

Lilith, mad that we refused to acknowledge her as leader, decided to show her disappointment by pouting and folding her hands like a child. "Anyway, let's go" Theon said, "we can't be late". "What's with you Arma and being early anyway?" Lilith asked.

"I guess somethings are weird to even the Imithean people" I added. I then turned to Danilia and wondered what to say, I guess my staring while lost in thought was noticeable because she seemed to be unformfortable until Theon said, "Just tell her to follow, and she'll do so from the shadows".

I looked at Danilia, said as Theon instructed and all she said before practically vanishing before my eyes was "Yes young master".
