Chapter 15: Encounter With a "Nice Girl"

"Hmm?" Said Suzuki in confusion as he turned around to face her. "Me?" He pointed to himself, Looking around.

"Yes, I wanted to tell you that you dropped your Id." She said with a smile, pointing towards it. Suzuki noticed and crouched to pick it up.

"Hmm, thank you." He said with a soft smile.

Blushing, the cute girl strolled away. "Y-Your welcome." She said, flustered. "He's so cute!" She screamed inside of her head.

Exhausted by the mysterious encounter, he shook it off and headed to the park.

At the park, walking down the usual path, he takes. His mind started to race through ideas and thoughts. Finally, surprised by the roller coaster of emotions flooding his heart, he stopped and spoke to himself. "I wonder if she's working today?"

Happy and aroused by the thought of Kana, he smiled in contentment. "What are these feelings?" He asked himself as he walked down the path.

Unable to comprehend the feeling of attraction, he wandered on until he made up his mind.

On his way back home, his heart rippled. He could feel it beat against his chest. He was thinking of her smile, face, and hair.

Then, he slowly faded away in a flood of emotions. Then, uneasy, he changed his direction and started walking faster. "Ok, I just want to see her." He said to himself nervously.

The closer he got to the computer shop, his heart pounded harder. "I wonder what Kana-San will think of me just coming in without reason?" He tightened his grip on his hand.

"I wonder if she'll think I'm weird. What do I do? Just look around?" He said with sweat running down his face. "No, I need to ask her about these feelings." He looked ahead, determined and afraid.

Closing in on the store entrance, he stopped at the handle. "I can't do this." He told himself as he frowned with uneasiness.

"Hmm, I can't." His weight slowly opened the door. "Shit, I have done it! I need to follow through!" He said with a sarcastic face.

Ring!

"Haha. Dear, stop it. We have a customer." Kana said, laughing while pushing a man's face away from her neck.

Kana looked up and saw none. "Hm, that's weird?" The man kept on kissing her neck.

"What?" Said the man as he stopped and looked back. "There's no one there. Let's take this in the back." He laughed.

Laughing, she grabbed onto his neck and warped her legs around him. Kana and the man were kissing the entire way to the back room.

For Suzuki, they seemed to be a "couple" who went inside the backroom while he watched from the outside window, the door shut close in his face. The rain started to drizzle down, getting more intense by the moment.

He looked up, reached his arms by his side, and spoke to himself. "Well, whatever." Tears were running down his face, and he felt a broken heart for the first time.

Isolated in this world, attracted by a mysterious feeling, fate had it that he would not feel another hand on his.

Destiny had it that he would not experience love and joy.

Predestination had it that Suzuki would never comprehend why God constructed this world in such a mysterious way. "So this is the 'Nice Girls' Readdit keeps talking about?"

At home, he opened the door to an empty and damped apartment. Then, announcing, "I'm home." He took his shoes off, positioned them, and walked inside.

Sad, angry, and consumed by the sight of Kana with another man. He sat on his couch and cried for the entirety of his Saturday.

For a moment, he had just dealt with grief, and now, he must deal with a broken heart.
