Book in a half

"I heard people say it is good to develop a reading habit and when I did and became addicted to reading, then what's next?"

Our trip back home is uneventful. We settle back into our normal life nicely. My friends are very happy of course upon receiving their gifts. They thank me earnestly. I am glad they forgive me easily for my careless behavior. The limited-edition cover of the book helps a lot or maybe my friends simply love me.

Books bind our friendship. Especially romance and adventure books. At first, we're happy reading and borrowing books from the school library as we exhaust the library books we Once in a while, we go to a bookshop to look for second-hand books if we have extra money. We can't afford to buy brand new books as our allowance is limited for school stuff. Buying books for leisure is not included in the budget. Anyway, we buy this book not to collect them but to read and enjoy the story. The clever thing we do is we buy different titles and after reading we exchange books.

Today after school we agreed to go hunting for pre-love books of our favorite romance and adventure author. There is a book shop just ten minutes walk from school called Book Sale. This shop sells mostly previously owned books and the best thing about this shop is budget-friendly for people like us whose purchasing power is limited.

We arrived in the shop and we are busy browsing the stock available and today we only find one book. It looks like we're having a situation here where four youngster wants to buy a single book.

So we decided to do a rock paper and scissors with a twist. The rule is whoever draws a sole paper, rock, or scissor among us win. We did it first and all show their hand with scissors. We tried again, I and Angel are scissors and Victoria and Marjorie are paper. We draw ten times until Victoria wins by using rock while the three of us use paper. Finally, we have a winner I sigh.

Victoria sarcastically told us, I am a winner but I have to spend five bucks for it! I replied, at least you have the right to flip through it first. Angel commented, hurry up and finished the book, some people here are dying to read it. Marjorie but in, who is going to barrow it first? I mumbled lets to the same process as before and we did it five times and I win. I proudly announced Yes I'm next reading it.

The following day after our English class is our morning break. Most students used this half-hour break to eat snacks or eat their breakfast that they skip. I and Victoria did not go to the cafeteria as we are still full from our breakfast. I am sitting beside Victoria under the shade of a willow tree. Victoria told me she is not done reading the book yet and I told her in my sardonic voice, really you are reading so slow now? Then she said I finished half of it the whole night, do you still think that I am taking my time? Then she flashes the book in my face holding half of the book where she finished reading and I grab the other half of the book. She got startled by my action and yanked the book back with her big strength and I did the same and the book was torn in the middle.

There was a strange silence and the look on our faces is in disbelief and then we laugh so hard that I almost cry. We both look at half of the book in each hand and then we bought said this is great your tear the book!

I argue, Nah I didn't you did! Then she said no you did! Then we look at each other eyes and then it's like there is a light bulb that suddenly shines and gives us a great idea and we both blurted out "Great now the book is broken"

I mumbled, are you thinking what I am thinking right now? Then she answered yes now we can divide the book. Ok cool, I said let's exchange and we both foolishly giggle.

So I give Victoria the other half of the book she did not finish while She gives me the half of the book that she finished reading. It's a win-win situation for both of us and we both look so happy. Then I tell her, later when you are done reading half of the last part of the book please give it to me. She replied ok and whom do you think I should give this part? Then she chuckles.

Yeah sometimes a bad situation, like the book was ripped into two but it can also be good as both of us read the book at the same time!
