Chapter 1

"There I was, standing in front of him. I could not explain the feeling I felt as he got closer to me. I always imagined falling in love with a guy, kissing him in the middle of a small drizzle with the rainbow slowly forming above of us. I guess it was the moment, the moment I always dreamed of. It was actually coming to...."

"Vanessa, mom said you should wake up and walk the dog!" Millie shouted as she threw a pillow at Vanessa. Vanessa groaned and she slowly opened her eyes. "I am still waiting dummy. It's your turn because last time you promised to pay me and you did not, so get up," she continued walking out of Vanessa's room."

Millie walked slowly looking back to see if Vanessa was up. As Millie got into the kitchen, she grabbed a bowl, some milk and some cereal and waited for Vanessa. As she began preparing her cereal, Vanessa walked up to her, grabbed her spoon, dipped it into Millie's cereal taking large amounts of it then directed it to her mouth. "I knew you were going to do that, this time I am telling mom." Millie testified.

"Don't worry baby. I will pay you after this. Right now, I have to walk the dog." She laughed as she grabbed the leash and walked out of the house. "AJ!" Vanessa called the dog.

"And by the way, love you."

"I know you do." Smiled Millie continuing to eat her cereal. Her mother then entered the small room she was in and went straight to the kitchen sink.

"Good morning mom," smiled Millie to her mother.

"Hey baby. You slept well?" replied Catherine, her mother.

"Well I would have if dad didn't wake up early and cut down the backyard tree. Where is he anyways?" Millie asked.

"Oh, he had to leave early. He is going on a business trip today so he had to arrive at the airport early," clarified Catherine.

"Oh well, anyways mom today can I go to Trish's house, we were given a science project and I feel like it would be better doing it at her place," Millie said

"Come on, why can't you do it her?" her mother asked with full concern.

"AJ mom, remember that one time when I was in fifth grade, he destroyed my science project." explained Millie.

"Oh yeah," she recalled. "Of course, but be back before dinner. Today it's Saturday, you know what that means"

"Yeah, I know mom," she agreed before grabbing her bookbag and and left the house.

"Bye. I love...." She said before hearing the door slam.

"Kids." She signed.

"Come on, walk faster AJ," said Vanessa as she walked towards a bench. She finally arrived at the bench and slowly sat down. She let out a deep breath and began scanning the park which was a few feet from where she was. She tied the leash from her hand to the bench and began to hum and softly closed her eyes. She was awakened by a soft breeze that brushed on her soft sensitive skin. She slowly opened her eyes and blinked several times adjusting her vision.

"Oh gosh, I may have fallen asleep," she laughed at herself.

"Come on Aj, let's......." she said before realizing that Aj was gone. Her inside dropped and began panicking as she began calling out his name.

"AJ...AJ where are you?" she shouted.

"Ummmm excuse me?" said a young teenage boy from behind her. He was tall, with dark hair, with beautiful blue eyes, sea blue eyes which lit up the room like a shooting star. His muscular figure made him look taller and more like a vogue model. He wore a black leather jacket which made him look more like one of those bikers Vanessa had seen on her favourite show, 'Teen beach movie'

"Oh hie," smiled Vanessa.

"Are you looking for you dog?" asked the boy.

Vanessa quickly looked behind her and nodded her head.

"Ummmmm...yes ummmm his name is.... umm....AJ." she trembled.

"Yeah. I guess there he is." The young boy said pointing ahead of him. "I was walking my dog when he joined. I thought maybe he was lost or something, that's when I looked at his leash. Did you make that?" he asked with concern.

"Oh no, my umm little sister made it for him and thank you by the way." Vanessa said getting hold of Aj's leash. "I am Vanessa by the way."

"I am Ricardo." He replied. "Ummmm so do you mind if we exchange phone numbers. Maybe we could hang some time."

"Yeah sure. That would be nice." smiled Vanessa as she handed him her phone. Ricardo gave her his phone and the two began adding their phone numbers. As soon as they were done, they handed each other's phones back.

"Thank you. So, I will see you later then." Smiled Vanessa as she slowly began to walk away.

"Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing you too." Ricardo smiled and watched Vanessa walk away.

Vanessa could not bear to look back. She walked confidently until he was sure that he could not see her. She turned back and she was right, she had lost him. "Oh gosh, you see that Aj, thank you for getting lost you smart dog. Now I got to meet ...him." She laughed while hugging Aj. She wiggled her hips slowly until she arrived at her house.
