Flight lesson

The first week at the school of wizardry was really a success. I was able to get quite a lot of information that I could not get, just sitting at the books.

But the most important thing is that when the school day ends and the students disperse to different corners of the castle, I have a time when no one is watching or looking for me. I, having chosen a vacant abandoned office, began to train with a stick. Every day I practice my spells with my wand. From the most harmless ones like mending charms, or more dangerous spells.

Alas, I could not use dark spells or those intended for loud destruction. The class does not isolate sound well. So now I was trying to just make the desk fly. As it turned out, it was quite difficult, and the desk could only twitch, but not take off at the begining. Although I had quite a lot of magical power, when I tested myself exhausting myself before going to bed casting one spell after another into the wall, I lacked grace and experience. I was like an ogre trying to play the piano. Having put forward a couple of theories, I decided to use wand-free magic and used Lumos.

But who would have expected this?

It didn't work out for me.

I didn't even feel that the magic was being used. I could transgress, erase memory, detonate things with the wand. But when it comes to such simple magic, I have problems. I had a suspicion that the wand is the first step. Slowly but surely, all spells and experiences will take root in the person's brain so much that it will be a reflex. All these spells, formulas in funny ancient languages. I feel like wizards like Dumbledore don't need them and that scares me. If we compare a wizard who can conjure with a wand and without ... It's not even a matter of magical power. Even a novice magician who has just entered school can use the strongest spells using just a couple of words and a wave of the right wand. This is not at all about the power of spells, but about their freedom.

Do not memorize spells, schemes, rituals, but simply feel the movement of magic.

Like a diligent swimmer and a lazy dolphin. It is immediately clear who will swim better. And alas, I didn't think of myself as a dolphin.

"Win gar dium levi ohhh sa" - having passed my stick through the air, I focused again on the desk after a short sigh. The desk rose by fifteen centimeters and, swimming slowly to the side, fell down as soon as I lost control of the magic flowing through the wand. Alas, this spell required more dexterity and training than a simple memory erase spell or a sleep spell.

"Win gar dium levi ohhh sa"

Over and over again using and more and more understanding the spell and coming up with ways to use it, I exhausted myself for an hour but calmed down when I felt mentally tired. Deciding to end the experiment, I pointed my wand at the desk to let off steam of frustration.

"Sectusempra." - a transparent beam flew into the desk, but nothing happened. Having understood the mistake, I corrected myself.

"Sectumsempra!" - Thin transparent blades flew out and instantly pierced right through the desk. It felt like I was letting off steam and finally calmed down. Slowly the dissatisfaction that I could not even master the raising of the desk went away and having fixed the desk with the help of Reparo, I left the classroom sneezing from the dust.

"Hi Sam. Sleep hour will come soon, don't be late. " - nodded to me passing by a girl, hugging two books in an armful. Apparently, she came from the library. With short dark hair, she looked pretty cute.

"Hey." - stupidly smiling showing white teeth, I wondered why she was worried. - "Are you afraid that the points will be removed if I go out at night?"

"Our faculty has won the cup for many years, I believe that the cup is a team effort and every point is important. We are lucky that our dean subtracts points to the left and to the right so that we would not be in the first place now. "

Thoughtfully looking at her walking next to her towards the dungeons, I finally remembered her name.

"Don't you think this is somehow unfair to other faculties? They have deducted points simply for scratching their nose with their hand. "

Hestia paused contemptuously, regaining her indifferent look.

"As long as it's good for Slytherin, I don't care about their suffering."

Smiling like a cat, I purred to myself. Honestly, I agreed with her completely. I don't care about the suffering of others. On the contrary, if possible, I will commit them if it will benefit me. Certainly not fatal, but not pleasant. I am not a kind person and not evil. I am the only one who will hide in the shadows for as long as possible. I will be that nondescript character until the end of the story until I have to show my true face.

"What did you do in class?"

"Trained with a spells. It's sad we have no other places like training grounds. " - i replied, plunged into silence, walking on the stone floor. After some awkward silence, we spoke again.

"Hey Hestia." - I called her in a groovy tone while we walked down the stairs.

"What?

"Your last name and Flora's last name, Carrow, isn't it?" I asked the question in a curious tone. The fact that she was purebred gave me no reason to be wary, but the fact that her relatives are some of the ruthless death eaters haunted me. By the way, they also had a tradition. Mmm. How is it there. Is incest a family matter?

"Yes." - coldness appeared in Hestia's voice as she already understood where I was going.

"So you are related to Alecto and Amicus?"

"This is true. Are there any problems with this? " - she stopped and peered into my glasses trying to see my eyes behind the shiny glass. Alas, the dancing light of torches in the glass did not allow her to see my eyes. I just smiled calmly.

"No problem with that. Seriously. If I hurt you in any way, forgive me. " - slightly bending over in an apologetic tone, I asked for forgiveness.

"They are indeed our relatives, but they are outcasts from our family."

"Nevertheless, they still carry a surname."

In response, having received silence, I decided to transfer the topic. In the end, I still have a lot of time to get information from this character. And considering that it was not in the book at all, this led me to many questions.

"What do you think about the upcoming broomstick flight? For some reason I have a feeling that we have a joint lesson with Gryffindor again. "

"Have you read the list? There it is written in black and white which faculties will participate in the lessons. " She snapped.

Taking out the schedule as if for the first time to know it, I was surprised.

"Wow! I didn't notice this. Hahaha. " - putting the list back in the bag, I noticed that we had already approached the portrait that guarded the entrance to the Slytherin living room.

"Password?" - the man in the picture calmly and boringly asked.

"The Cherry Orchard."

"Have a nice evening." - the door in the wall opened and we went inside. But before we parted, I said good night.

"Good night Hestia!" - I went to the sofa, where my new friends from the morning were sitting. Apparently, they were doing their homework, I can join them and show a bit of intelligence. Enough to be respected, not enough to envy and try to exploit.

"Goodnight." - Hestia nodded and went to her twin sister who was sitting at one of the tables and was writing something.

"Sup guys. How long have you been doing homework? " - plopping down on the sofa, I put the bag on my knees and began to pull out the items.

Richard, clearing his items from the small table in front of the couch to make room for my scrolls and textbooks, greeted me.

"Just started. We went to see the ghosts, but did not find a single one. These assholes seem to be hiding from us. We are doing the Transfiguration work now, join us if you want. "

"Sure, I'll start with that too, it's supposedly easy now at the beginning of the year." - taking out an empty parchment, I began to scribble quickly from memory in a neat handwriting describing the process of how we turned a match into a needle. Six minutes later, while my classmates looked surprised, I finished my homework.

"Of course, you wrote a lot, but if there is a lot of nonsense, they will give you a bad mark." - looking from behind, looking at what I wrote, a guy with long hair and a thin physique looked at the scroll while reading.

"No, there are quite a few theses from the book here. How do you know so much? I thought you were only in contact with the wizarding world. You haven't even looked at the book. " - As if offended, Richard asked.

Lost in thought, I joked with a stupid, satisfied grin.

"In fact, I am an ancient and powerful dark wizard who pretends to be a young wizard. Naturally, I will know such simple things as the first year's Transfiguration. "

* Crackle *

Looking in the direction of the crackle, we saw how Malfoy broke, clenching his fist into a seemingly expensive figurine of some magical creature. As if nothing had happened, he threw it into his bag and continued talking to two ogres and a cute-looking girl. Her eyes clearly showed admiration for Malfoy, but looking at the blonde herself, I saw only his fright. Hm.

"Sure sure. And I am the heir of Merlin himself. Okay, you don't want to don't tell. " - The guy who was reading my text tapped me on the shoulder and returned to his chair for a book.

"Actually, as soon as I got the textbooks, I read them and I have a good memory. So I can easily write a bunch of water. "

The next hour passed quickly. Time passed by talking with them not noticeably, but I began to write the following works more slowly, trying not to emphasize my abilities too much. Fortunately, they didn't care much and had brains of their own. Logically weighed and diligently doing their work. Only sometimes, when thoughts went to a dead end, they asked around for advice.

I should probably thank the hat for bringing me here. If I were in Gryffindor, not only would they start asking me to write off my work, but also the bedrooms in which 4 people sleep are simply awful.

After finishing my lessons, I played chess with them, which moved on it's own and lost a couple of times so as to not make pressure on their young minds. Yawning, I infected the others, and they too began to yawn and feel that it was time to sleep. After wishing good night, everyone dispersed, only older students remained in the room that almost beat their heads over a ton of books. Poor fellows.

................................................

Day came and the cold air burned his lungs. Although the sun was shining, the faint breeze still shuddered. Wrapping myself in a scarf, I made a note to find out a way to keep warm using magic. Finally, in a crowd, we came out into a flat clearing far from the Dark Forest, the tops of which swayed gloomily.

The Gryffindor freshmen were already on the field, whispering as they stared at the neatly laid brooms in front of them. I chose a broom for myself, took it, and walked away. Laying down on the ground, I watched others who followed my actions. After seeing me pick a broom, the rest of the freshmen also picked one at a time. After some time, a teacher finally appeared - Madame Trick.

"So I see you have chosen your excellent brooms! And now stop holding her as if you will sweep! Put it on the ground and say Up! "

Demonstrating how the broom jumped into her hand, she began to wait for everyone to do the same. Voices were heard from everywhere, but unlike many of the Slytherin students who already had a broom in their hand, in Gryffindor the brooms refused to jump. One girl had her broom rolling to the side, Neville's broom didn't even move.

Lost in thought, I remembered how exactly in this lesson Harry would become a Seeker. However, I had other plans. Having decided to conduct an experiment, I wanted to check if the passage of time is a foregone conclusion or if I can change it. After all, the flywheels of time were an interesting thing, but I didn't have one to test my ideas. However, knowing the events of the book, I could only writhe in ignorance. I guess this will be one of the important points in the timeline that I will try to change.

"So now get on the broom. Do not throw your leg back as if you are sitting on a horse! " - shouting at one student from Slytherin Madame Trick, continued to instruct the students how to take off. When everyone was seated, she continued.

"Draco, you're not sitting right! Move your legs and bend over! "

"But this is not the first year I have flown!" Draco protested but changed position anyway. However, this was not all, and a whole stream of information flew to him that he was flying incorrectly. She watered Malfoy well and after a couple of minutes Madame Trick switched to others.

"Now, when I blow the whistle, you will forcefully push off the ground. Hold the broom firmly and don't fall. " - looking at Neville, knowing what would happen, I saw how, at the word to fall, he turned pale and became even more nervous.

"And so on my whistle - three, two ..."

However, Neville, as if the countdown of his death was going on, jumped as the stung jerked up rather quickly.

"Come back boy !!!" - Madame Trick shouted, waving her arms. However, Neville only climbed faster until the broom slipped out of his hands and he began to fall back to the ground as if in slow motion. Watching the panicked teacher, I thought how unprofessional she was, she could transfigure the earth, she could use levitation spells on Neville and save him, but ...

There was an unpleasant sound of broken bones and squelching. Moaning Neville lay huddled on the ground.

"Oh my God!" - Madame Trick flew up, muttering.

After a couple of seconds of examination, she lifted him with magic and carried him towards the castle.

"Now I will take him to the hospital wing, and you are waiting for me, and do not touch the broomsticks in my absence! Whoever touches will fly out of school before you can say the word "Quidditch"! Hold on. Neville, your leg bones will quickly heal. " - having run away quickly with Neville she left us.

As I waited for Malfoy to find the shiny object in the grass, I watched.

"Ahahaha! How can you be such an idiot! No, well, did you see his face when he fell? " Draco laughed.

Some of the Slytherins also laughed and looking around I noticed only four, not including me, that did not join in the fun. The blonde, Richard, and the twins.

The two girls started a skirmish and while they were sorting out the relationship Malfoy finally noticed what I had been waiting for. Having drawn my wand beforehand, I prepared to use a fifth-course spell that I had learned a couple of days ago.

"Look!" - picking up a ball from the dirt that Neville's grandmother had sent during breakfast, he shook it off. - "This is the same stupid thing that his grandmother sent."

As I watched the shiny ball, I noticed Harry step forward and hold out his hand.

"Give it to me Malfoy."

Everyone turned to him. However, Malfoy only chuckled contemptuously.

"I think I'll hide it and see how this fatty looks for it. For example, to that tree. " - I saw how he rose into the air and already rushed towards the tree. Harry jumped on the broom and, as if he had flown all his life, rushed after him.

"Accio memory ball." - having said in a boring voice, I caught the ejected ball like a bullet in my direction from Malfoy's hands.

All the freshmen turned shocked to look in my direction, dumbfounded. I noticed how the blonde looked at me strangely. Daphne Gringas was born into a family of wizards and, unlike the stupid or ignorant students, she apparently realized that the spell was clearly not for a freshman. However, I was prepared for this. The result of the result was more valuable than what many will now see in me as a talented magician. The main thing is that Albus doesn't hear about my talent. Otherwise, he will not see a freshman boy named Samuel Holmes, but Voldemort version 2.0

"Hey, give it back now." - A boy from the Gryffindor group came up to me with clenched fists.

"How about the word, please?" - I began to consider the ball and figured out how to make fun of Ron.

"This ball is not yours, give it to me, I'll give it to Neville!" - As if not having heard Ron began to cheer himself up, going to punch me. In his eyes, I saw a drop of madness to a green color.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Malfoy and Harry land. However, expecting a run-over from Malfoy I didn't get it. And looking in his direction, I noticed how nervous he was, hesitating to start arguing with me. An insight came to my mind when I remembered his reaction to my words or appearances in class. HE HAS NOT LOST MEMORIES. Possible options spun in my brain.

"Please return the ball to us, Samuel." Harry, unlike Ron, understood what I said and asked politely. Malfoy just said nothing again.

Deciding not to waste time, I answered.

"Of course, since you're asking Harry. I will let Ron take it then. " - stretching out my hand, putting the ball on my palm, I waited with a cheerful smile while Ron, looking suspiciously, carefully approached me.

"But first ..." - With a lightning-fast wave of my wand, I turned the ball into a spider. The spider may not be alive, but it was a complete copy of a real Brazilian tarantula. With brown fur and sparkling eyes, he seemed to be staring at Ron.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!" - Ron jumped away waving his hands madly as if a spider had jumped on him. To which I only smiled wider. Now Slytherin knows about his fear of spiders. I'm afraid now Ron will have to live in fear.

"Oh, how clumsy I am. I accidentally used magic and turned ball in spider. " - returning the original form to the ball, I threw it to Harry.

"I didn't know you were so afraid of the spiders, Weasley ... I'm sorry." - I shook my head as if in repentance.

"You are a snake! You knew I was afraid of spiders and you did it on purpose! How do you know? Did my brothers tell you? Bastard!" Ron turned to Harry as if expecting support. However, his entire faculty just watched as he puffed with a red face.

"Oh well. You shouldn't call like that your classmates, my "friend". You should be a little more polite when you ask for something. And when you get it, is it hard hard to say - thank you? Something I didn't hear, is your gratitude for returning the item. " - having thrown the arrows, I continued to look at him with a sad smile as if I had buried my best friend.

"Choke on the slugs !!!" Ron spat near my feet.

"Ahhahahaha! Mark my word for it, Ron. You will choke slugs. Or spiders. " - however, interrupting the fun came Madame Trick.

"Calm down immediately! Who flew here! I'll find out anyway !!! " - hands on the sides, she portrayed the very severity. However, both faculties remained silent. Since if you point to Malfoy, they will do the same and point to Harry.

"Okay, then let's continue the lesson. As you saw in the example, do not let go of the broom in the air and be calm! And now all the brooms! "

The lesson was expectedly tense. However, now I have to wait. Isn't Harry really going to be the Seeker now?

Although there was a more serious problem. Although I erased Malfoy's memory, he is afraid of me. It remains to be seen why.
