Old Dungeon

Duke Salvador was sitting in his study.

His hand rested on his forehead as he looked at the diary with sharp eyes. No matter how hard he tried he could not see how the fifth Princess read the unseen things.

'I know that the fifth Princess is not lying.'

'But why did the Third Prince not read it then?'

'Why could only the Princess read it?'

'What am I missing?'

Duke Salvador was deep in thoughts when his butler came in. "Master .."

Aiden looked up from the diary as he raised eyebrows towards his butler who was uneasy.

"That .." The butler swallowed as he fiddled his fingers. "Lord Bentham wants an audience with you."

"Deny it," Aiden said without a second thought. He waited till the butler went out to turn the diary's page.

'When will the fifth Princess come.'

'Only two days are remaining for the week to get over.'

"Master .." The butler did not go out but looked at the Duke as he swallowed hard.

"You are still here?"

Duke Salvador waited as the butler closed his eyes. "The Lord is not alone."

"Not alone? He dared to bring an unknown person to my mansion." Aiden said as he raised his eyebrows. "Who is it?"

"The fifth Princess." The butler said as he looked down without seeing eye to eye with his master.

"The fifth Princess? Are you sure?" Aiden asked as he tapped his fingers on the table.

The butler nodded as he waited for his master's order.

Aiden laughed as his red eyes glowed dangerously. "Bring them in with respect."

Although Duke Salvador said this, his tone was low like a beast ready to attack.

The butler nodded and left to obey his master's order.

'Why is she here with Achard Bentham?'

'Have she told about the diary to Achard as well?'

'No, she cannot. She is too frightened to spread it on her own.'

'The fifth Princess loves to hide and stay quiet.'

Aiden was still thinking when he saw Lord Achard Bentham coming in but the man was not alone. Aiden saw that his friend waited at the door till a petite body came in wearing a hat in the room.

Lord Bentham held the door till Cassandra entered as he escorted her into the room. There was a time he had forgotten that a pair of red eyes was glaring at them.

Lord Bentham smirked as he looked at Duke Salvador before looking at Cassandra who was looking down. "Let me take this."

Lord Bentham took a step forward as he touched Cassandra's hat. Cassandra was frightened as she looked up at the Lord who smiled at her.

Cassandra smiled at Lord Bentham as he took the hat from her head before he placed it on a chair.

"If you are done, we should start with our talk." A sudden voice rang in the room with an unsatisfied tone.

"Yes, let us." Lord Bentham's lips curled up as he let Cassandra sit before sitting on a chair before Duke Salvador. "Tell me why the great Duke Aiden Salvador wanted to meet with the fifth Princess."

Cassandra's eyes flipped as she looked in between Lord Bentham and Duke Salvador. The two men looked at each other as if they were ready to murder each other.

"It is in between me and the Princess. I don't think there should be a reason for Lord Bentham to interfere in our personal matters." Duke Salvador smirked as his hands formed a fist.

"A personal matter? I don't think the Princess thinks so." Lord Bentham chuckled as he looked at Cassandra who wanted to disappear from this situation.

Duke Salvador looked at Cassandra. Her platinum blonde hair glowed as the sunlight hit her hair giving her a hollow. Her cornflower-blue eyes looked at him and his friend with an anxious gaze.

"I need to talk with the fifth Princess." Duke Salvador said in a low voice. His tone was dangerous as he narrowed his gaze. "So you, my friend, should leave." Aiden looked at Lord Bentham with a raised lip.

"Princess?" Lord Bentham looked at Cassandra's with a hopeful gaze but the man who was looking at her from across the table was more dangerous.

'I cannot mess things up now.'

'What if Duke Salvador misunderstands me.'

'What if he tells something to the royal family.'

Cassandra shook her head as she looked at Lord Bentham. "I will talk with the Duke."

Lord Bentham did not reply as he nodded. He looked at Duke Salvador as he stood up.

[I will have a good talk with you soon.]

[Some things have to stop.]

Lord Bentham left the room in silence. As soon as he walked out the Duke's butler was standing outside as if waiting for his arrival.

"Did your master tell you to wait here?" Lord Bentham chuckled as he ran his hand over his hair.

"No." The butler replied in a low tone without looking at the Lord.

"So where are you going to escort me?" Lord Bentham asked as he started walking followed by the butler.

"The Duke wants you to look at some documents."

"Some documents?" Lord Bentham smiled as he raised his eyebrows. "Your master wants to send me to the old dungeon. What a cunning fox?"

The butler was silent as he escorted the Lord to the place his master wanted him to be in.

-----------

Duke Aiden Salvador was quiet as he looked at the fifth Princess as if observing her.

Cassandra swallowed as she fiddled with his fingers. She was nervous like she had never been.

'Am I anxious because I cannot read the Duke's thoughts?'

'It must be."

Cassandra looked up to the Duke whose gaze penetrated her. Cassandra was frightened. The man was sitting there without saying another word, just observing her.

Duke Salvador's gaze mesmerized Cassandra, making her unable to look away. His red eyes were like fire, the element he represented. Beautiful yet Dangerous.

Aiden smiled as he saw Cassandra looking at him. He got up from his chair as he made his way towards Cassandra.

"Shouldn't the Princess explain herself?"
