Chapter 15 Missing Home

The drive was long but we finally made it to West Plains after being in Ava. Jones was worn out from the drive there and back and I was the same. We grabbed the supplies and took it into the house's kitchen. He placed the meat in the freezer and put the vegetables and fruit in the fridge. I placed the cans and other goods in cabinets. When we finally gotten everything up and sat down to relaxed. A part of me felt empty and alone than before. I missed fighting with Jade about supply plans and helping Hanna with cooking.

The feeling of being a freak came back into my eyes as Jones setup a game system for us to play Beginning of the End. It was a fantasy world of characters going through problems and fighting for their lives. But I felt connected with the character Rose as she was treated as a weapon when she was a child. Jones felt the air changed as he watches me become upset. He paused to take step to calm me down with holding me close to his heart. I wanted to be with my friends and to see them again, but that wasn't going to happen.

"I have an idea," Jones said with a smile, "for you to see your friends again."

"What?" I questioned.

"We should sneak nearby to see what your friends are doing," he replied

I sat there in shock as his arms were around me. He wanted to sneak near their base to see what they were doing. Fear was in my heart as I knew that we could be killed on the spot if Jade sees us. He pulled me up from the couch and pulled me to the closet to grab our red cloaks. The keys were in his hands as he made sure we had out weapons in hand. I realized that I grabbed the knife Hayhay made me. It was about time for me to return it to her.

The feeling of fear and sadness overcame my body as Jones started the car. It would have been a couple of minutes by driving, but I was worried about other things. Jade told me to stay away from them and their base. That I was basically a freak in their eyes, dangerous monster that couldn't die. The closer we got to the base, the more I seen the lack of movement there. It felt empty and sad as I see Martin near the gate. He didn't see us as the car stopped and we gotten out without a thought.

He was calm as he asked where we could go to get inside the building. The only place that was there we could get in was the garage. The only a couple of them would be there to work on cars and the bus for them to get around. We moved closer to the back and went inside by staying down low. We walked past James, Colt, and Ace working on a car. They were talking about how they missed me and how Jade regretted saying those words to her. I wanted to speak, but Jones covered my mouth and pulled me further into the building.

Seeing the others made me feel sad, but when we got closer to the middle of the building. Jade was there with plans on a table and dark circles under her eyes. Hayhay tried to get her to rest, but she didn't budge an inch. I looked at Jones and saw a table with a piece of paper and pen. I wanted to say I missed them, but at this point I felt like it was the best that I was dead.

Dear Wally World Base,

We are a group of people who found your dear friend Lize Rockwell. She is now dead and will never come back from the grave as she was shot point blank by us. We decided to leave her knife as a warning for you to forget about her. It's the best as she had a price on her head.

Sinceraly,

Karma's Killer

The feeling of sorrow came as I knew I could not come back to see them again. My life was now too dangerous for them to be around. That they shouldn't know who I was anymore as I left it on the ground. Jones looked at me and hoped that I wouldn't do this and that I should talk to them. But it ended with Marry screaming that two people were here as she pointed towards us. Fear was inside as Jade grabbed her gun and point it out towards us. Jones held his forward and shot the light above to cause them to move.

"Blood Cult!" Jade screamed out towards anyone that was nearby. I watched as she pointed her gun towards Jones and I moved towards him, pushing him out of the way. The feeling of pain was there. But it ended with grabbing something that Hayhay was working on. It had the words flash on it as I pushed the button and threw it. It didn't go off as I walked towards them and held my ground with my gun in hand.

"Stop!" I screamed, "Or I'll shoot her."

"You wouldn't," Jade growled towards me with hate.

"I killed one of your friends before," I answered, "and I'll do it again."

"What?" she questioned as I threw the note and knife to the ground. She picked it up, reading it with sadness in their eyes. But something made her laugh as she remembered an important detail.

"Nice try," Jade said and looked at me, "Lize smarter than you."

"Guessing not too smart," I replied as we backed closer to the back door again. The wound I had healed much faster than it was before.

"Really Lize," she said to me, "your acting sucks."

"I'm not…" I tried to speak but Ace walked up behind me and pulled my hood down.

"She right you know," Ace replied with a smile.

I stood there in shock as Jade walked towards me and dropped her gun to the ground. The feeling of arms around me and squeezed me like I was going to disappear on them again. I knew that I couldn't stay there anymore. Pulling away from her and looked at her with sad eyes.

"What's wrong?" Jade asked

"I can't be with the group anymore," I replied

"What do you mean?" she asked

"I'm a part of a different group," I answered with fear, and she froze in place. She looked over my body, the red cloak and the mark of the skull and knife in my arm. Looking over to Jones as she freaked out inside with hate towards us both.

"You joined them!" she snapped

"Yes," I replied and pulled myself closer to Jones in fear.

"Why," she asked, and I looked towards the note and said price. She understood what I meant as I waited for something to happen. But it ended with Jade pulling me into a hug and telling me that she forgave me. I was in fear and that same time I felt happy. Hayhay stood there with hate in her eyes as she grabbed the knife, she made for me. She pushed me and Jade to the ground and ran towards Jones. She was back in the moment at that church, the moment was all she cared about killing the blood cult members.

He was pushed to the ground, but he didn't sit there to let her stab him to death. He pushed her away from him and she lost her footing. Falling backwards and landing onto the ground. I pushed myself up and ran to Jones with fear that she would try to kill him. But she didn't move an inch as we watch her on the ground. The knife she had in her hands was in her side of her back. She barely knew how to fight on her own, but we watched her cursed her breath. Ben's eyes were filled with sorrow as he held Marry away like a child. He asked Hanna to hold her as he ran over to see what he could do. There was too much blood, and the sight of her dying made us all sad.

None of us blamed him for pushing her off, but it ended with Jade telling us to leave. She didn't blame Jones for her death but wanted them to figure out how to bury her. My heart wasn't the same as I watched my one friend die in front of me. Jones droved us home and he felt bad for what he did. It was an accident that should never happen, but we had to learn to say goodbye. I didn't leave the house for the next couple of days and the same with Jones. Hayhay was a good friend, but she attacked on her own to protect herself in a different time. She wasn't stable after that day, but she was still a part of our family. And we were all going to miss her.
