Ding!
The elevator doors creaked open, revealing a man dressed in medieval knight attire and carrying a long sword. He confidently stepped out of the elevator as he vigilantly glanced around with his glowing eyes.
Behind the man, 3 bald men in black tuxedos filed out. They then posed around the knight in a triangular formation, looking suave and cool with their black sunglasses.
One of the baldies then glanced at the knight as he stated, "Sir. Our side mission is to find traces of Michael. As for the main mission, the mayor said that he wants the fugitive here, dead of alive. However, if it turns out to be something from the mystical side, we will be counting on you."
The knight nodded with a serious face as he replied, "As long as I receive the pay, I will perform my duty. I have already sensed the dense yin qi gathering in this building. There is a high chance that we will encounter spirits, but no matter how many shows up, I will handle it. Now keep up. Let's get this mission over with."
The knight then strolled forward while observing the environment. One of the bald man glanced at his colleague as he couldn't help but whisper, "Hey number 3, are you sure we can rely on this ... cosplayer? What day an age is it? He is still wearing medieval knight attire. That knight armor isn't going to block bullets like bullet proof vests will."
The colleague rolled his eye before whispering back, "Don't mind it number 4. It might just be a quirk of his. The mayor did tell us that those from the mysterious side are mental up here."
The colleague then drew circles with his finger beside his head. His colleague chuckled for a bit, but with a whoosh, a long sword suddenly appeared on his neck!
The three bald dudes didn't even notice when the knight in front had doubled back to ambush them. The knight coldly stared at the bald guard who brought up the topic as he grimly stated, "If I hear you talking behind my back one more time, I will list you as a casualty for this mission. I'm sure the mayor won't mind a death or two as long as I complete the mission."
A drop of sweat rolled down baldy number four's face as he replied with a trembling voice, "U-Understood sir."
The knight glared at the baldy one last time before recovering his sword. He then returned to his investigation while pulling out a talisman, "Detection."
The talisman lit up with a golden light as it turned into an glowing orb in the air. Then, the orb began to float towards the nearby apartment 440.
"So, there's a spirit in there eh?" the knight sneered as he confidently walked towards apartment 440.
The three baldies glanced at each other in confusion before they pulled out their pistols and calmly followed behind the knight. The three baldies watched as the knight tried to open the locked door before he backed up and gave the door a kick!
Bam! Cracks appeared in the wall as a dent the size of a human foot appeared on the door. The three baldies tensed up in fright as they gawked at the strength of the knight. Bam! With another kick, the door slammed open as the lock was broken.
When the door opened, a floating security guard uniform dived towards the knight's face! The knight sneered and slashed forward with his sword, bisecting the uniform into halves. Watching the floating uniform falling to the ground, the three baldies right behind had pale faces while one of them yelled out, "Contact! Fire at will!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Multiple gunshots echoed in the hallway as the knight dodged out of the way with a frown. Holes were blown in the already destroyed uniform. It wasn't long before the ammo of one of the baldies ran out.
Click. Seeing his gun out of ammo, baldy number four dramatically hollered, "Cover me! I'm reloading!"
Baldy number two and three then stood in front of baldy number four as they fired at the uniform on the ground. Standing at the side, the knight couldn't stand it anymore and yelled angrily to end the farce, "Stop wasting bullets! It's already dead you dumbsh*ts!"
The three baldies froze in a trance as they observed the destroyed uniform on the ground. Seeing it didn't have any reaction, they finally breathed a sigh of relief as they awkwardly lowered their guns.
Baldie number 2 cleared his throat as he stated, "Ahem. Target neutralized. We can report our achievement to the mayor later. Let's ... go catch the fugitive."
The three baldies then huddled around the knight as they glanced around vigilantly. Staring at his pig-like teammates, the knight gritted his teeth while muttering, "I could have done this alone. Why did my client even bother to send these wimps along?"
The three baldies heard him but silently kept their mouths shut. After all, the real job assigned by the mayor to them is to monitor the knight in hopes of getting some clues to joining the mysterious side.
Pulling out another talisman, the knight activated another glowing orb of light. This time, the light floated towards apartment 444 before disappearing through the door. Seeing this, the knight sneered as he marched over to apartment 444.
With a calm face, the knight kicked on the door once more. Bam! A dent appeared in the door. The knight raised his leg for another kick, but this time he didn't feel much resistance feedback! The door slammed open as the knight lost his balance a bit due to his leg being raised in the air.
The knight's face scrunched up into an ugly expression as he saw a man, embraced by black mist, standing on the other side of the doorway. Seeing the gun aimed at him, the knight swiftly brought his raised leg down to the ground. Thud! Using the force from his legs pushing against the ground, the knight launched himself to the side as quickly as possible. However, it was too late!
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Puff! Although the knight escaped in time to dodge most of the bullets, the knight felt pain from his lower body. Glancing down, he gritted his teeth when he noticed a bloody hole on his leg and one at the side of his belly.
On the other hand, the three baldies weren't so lucky. Although they were trained, they still fail to react fast enough. Two of the baldies took a bullet to the head as baldy number 2 barely managed to escape with a bullet hole on his chest and his arm.
After doing a roll on the ground to increase the distance from his target, the knight turned around and aimed his hand towards the door while kneeling, "Holy Light!"
A blinding light exploded from his hands, intending to seep through the doorway, but the door swiftly slammed shut, blocking most of the light. Seeing this, the knight frowned as he rolled up to the door and placed his other palm on it, "Holy shield!"
A small, glowing wall of light materialized in front of the door and formed a barrier against the door. The knight inwardly breathed a sigh of relief while muttering blessings, "Blessing. Mental resistance. Blessing. Defense. Blessing. Strength. Blessing. Speed."
With a wave of blessings, the knight felt much more powerful as he arrogantly sneered in confidence. Seeing the holy light fading away, he raised his leg to kick open the door in front of him.
Bam! A huge dent formed on the door as it flew away from the doorway. The holy light spilled into the room, but the knight frowned as he noticed that the room was empty!
Taking out another talisman, the knight activated it, "Detection."
A glowing orb of light appeared once more, but this time, the orb silently floated in the air without moving! The knight frowned as he muttered, "They are not nearby? Did they escape? But spirits usually don't leave their own domain ... unless they are at least a blood spirit!"
The knight's face turned grim and serious as he speculated, "A blood spirit? Not only that, it's also intelligent enough to use modern firearms! This ... no, I must report this back to headquarters! This isn't something a newly promoted knight like me can deal with!"
With this thought, the knight pulled out another talisman. He gritted his teeth and stared at it for a moment in reluctance before activating it, "Heal."
A glowing light spilled out of the talisman and onto the knight. Then knight's injury then quickly recovered as two bullets were pushed out by his regrowing flesh and dropped to the ground.
The nearby baldy number 2, who was leaning against the wall and covering his wound with his hands, gawked at this miraculous event. He couldn't help but but ask, "C-Can you use one for me, too?"
Staring the the useless mortal, the knight coldly replied, "No more."
The knight then turned away from the apartment and briskly jogged towards the exit. Seeing this, baldy number 2 struggled to get up as he hollered, "H-Hey! Wait for me! Don't leave me behind!"
The knight ignored the man as he ran towards the elevator. Seeing the knight ignoring him, baldy number 2 pulled out his gun and growled angrily, "T-Take me with you! Or I will shoot! The mayor will be very interested in your body!"
Ignoring the threat of the gun, the knight sneered as he continued forward. Seeing this, baldy number 2 gritted his teeth as he growled, "Die m*therf*cker!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The baldy rapidly fired his gun. Although he wasn't a master shooter, he has still been trained for a long time. However, to his horror, all he saw was the knight shifting back and forth while all his bullets missed! With the click that signified that his ammo was out, the baldy stared at the knight who has stopped in place with shock and despair, "I-Impossible!"
"Nothing is impossible," the knight sneered as he glanced back.
The baldy blinked his eyes and when he opened it again, he saw the knight in front of him! A trail of afterimage chased after the stationary knight in front of the baldy. The knight coldly glared at the frightened baldy as he stated, "Although you are only a mortal, I never allow those who dare to have thoughts of killing me live."
"N-Nooo-"
Puff! Baldy number 2's face of despair was ingrained on his head that now tumbled onto the ground. Giving his sword a swing to get the blood off, the knight then stared vigilantly at his surroundings with his glowing eyes. Seeing that the blood spirit didn't come out, he sighed inwardly before he dashed off towards the elevator once more.
It didn't take long for him to reach the end of the hallway. Just when the knight was about to breathe a sigh of relief, his surroundings distorted and when he focused on his surroundings afterwards, he discovered that he was at the other end of the hallway!
"A spirit with spatial distortion abilities!" the knight's face paled as his eyes filled with fear, "Damn it! Why am I so unlucky to get trapped by one?! I don't believe I can't escape!"
Leaving behind a trail of afterimages, the knight appeared at the other end of the hallway not long after, but even with his speed, he only found to his despair that he still ended up at the other end of the hallway!
The knight's face distorted in despair as he angrily howled, "You bloody spirit! Let me the f*ck out!"
Waving his sword, the knight slashed at the nearby walls, leaving traces of cuts on them, but not doing much else. Seeing no response, the knight gritted his teeth and made another mad dash towards the other end of the hallway. Unsurprisingly, he teleported to the other end.
With a thought, the knight looked back and stepped backwards. After watching his surroundings distort, he realized he now has returned to the elevator end of the hallway. The knight has finally discovered the trick of this hallway; however, he still didn't know how to break out of it!
Glaring at his surroundings vigilantly, the knight pulled out a talisman, "Detection."
Seeing the glowing ball that did not respond. The knight took out another talisman, but then he stopped before activating it. He realized it was his last detection talisman and decided to save it.
After calming himself down, the knight cautiously strolled down the hallway. It didn't take long for him to reach apartment 444. Seeing the holy shield still in effect, the knight calmly stepped into the apartment.
Glancing around with his eyes, the knight detected the dense yin qi coming from the bathroom. With a grin, he strolled forward while muttering, "I don't believe I can't get you to come out by destroying your possession object!"
Kicking the door open, the knight glanced into the bathroom filled with yin qi. He then noticed the missing mirror, but he also found it weird that the toilet was also missing.
"Never mind the toilet, the mirror must be the possession object. Only blood spirits can carry their possession objects with them, it seems my speculation was correct," the knight muttered with a grim face as he turned around to head out.
The knight investigated one apartment after another, but found no traces of the evil spirit. The knight stood alone in the silent hallway as he frowned in confusion. Watching his blessings gradually fading away, the knight sighed inwardly before blessing himself with only the speed buff.
"I need to conserve my holy energy or I won't be able to fight if the evil spirit comes out. This should be good enough for me to escape from the bullets and dodge sneak attacks," the knight thought as he continued his search back and forth the hallway.
As the knight began to feel his own exhaustion, he decided to rest in the hallway; however, he didn't even get to rest long before his instincts screamed danger.
Bang!
Dodging out of the way with a roll, the knight hopped to his feet and swiftly aimed his hand towards the source of the gun, "Holy smite!"
But to his disappointment and frustration, his attack met empty air. The knight gritted his teeth and began to search the apartments once more, but with no success.
Meanwhile, Pro brought his entourage of spirits and sneakily moved back and forth within the apartment rooms of his domain in order to avoid the knight's search. Between having to walk around and through the door, going through the wall was much sneakier and faster.
Whenever he saw that the knight wanted to rest, he would get his gun stashed in the kitchen and harass the poor bloke with a shot before hiding once more. Meanwhile, Pro would torture the bloke with
With the energy recovery gained from assimilating his toilet into his body, Pro had no problems with his energy reserves. Although there was a risk getting killed in one shot by doing this, Pro had an extra toilet and had no worries. The only downside is that his body felt a bit heavier, but Pro was still happy that he could carry the toilet through walls after assimilating it.
"Heh, I want to see how long you can last Mr. Cosplayer," Pro mocked with a sneer while he laid comfortably on the ground while hugging the cute Alice who was playing with Toi Toi in her hands.
The war of attrition continued and after a couple of hours, the knight became exhausted both physically and mentally. Seeing this, Pro sneered as he sneakily extended an attractive olive vine to the knight.
"Since it's toilet attraction, perhaps its more accurate to call it a toilet vine, hehehe~"
