Brawling Go!

The brawl started, and it was time for Pro to go lead his little clan to victory! Pro charged forward towards two lingering spirits, a floating broomstick and a dancing mop, and gave them their well deserved punishment, a stick up their as- oh, wait, they don't got any. So, Pro could only helplessly smash them to pieces with a swing of his claws.

Notifications popped up repeatedly in Pro's system screen, both due to his own slaughter and the kills of the others. Although Pro could choose to let them handle all the lingering spirits, the amount of lingering spirits may still pose a threat to low-level baleful spirits, so he only grinned and continued his slaughter.

Pro's thought was to harvest as much as possible first, then when the distractions are gone, he can focus on the boss battle. Of course, the two bosses won't stand idly on the side while watching him slaughter their army.

The cockroach spirit was still spitting forks and knives at Pro, but Pro only felt it barely scratches him. Although this cockroach spirit was a mid-level baleful spirit, it didn't seem to be as strong as the others and its offensive abilities weren't that troublesome.

On the other hand, Pro kept a part of his attention on the vacuum spirit. Once he sees that it tries to suck again, he would spit some yin needles for it to suck up, causing it to choke and stop sucking. The poor vacuum spirit was almost turned autistic by Pro's shameless, but effective tactic.

Noticing that its ability was perfectly countered and its efforts to use it was futile, the vacuum spirit could only helplessly dash forward with its corroded body. It intended to join the brawl with the physical strength of a baleful spirit.

Alas, Pro didn't even give it the chance. Once it approached, Pro simply dashed up to it and knocked it away before returning to his slaughter. With Pro's speed and strength as a blood spirit, the vacuum spirit was helpless against him without using its vacuum ability.

Glancing over at his subordinates, Pro realized they were much more capable than expected. The uniform spirits and Toi Toi struggled a bit to deal with the spirits on their own because they were weak, but they served as good distractions. Toi Toi could even trap some spirits for the others to deal with.

On the other hand, Alice had fun smashing the spirits with her strength while using her swapping curse to play 'friendly fire' with the enemy. Even little Ali got some kill counts with her tiny sword as she cutely bumbled about with two exasperated dolls lagging behind her. If Pro could understand doll language, he would probably be hearing the two dolls trying to stop their reckless royal highness.

After a couple minutes of lame, non-climatic brawling, the drama quickly ended with the lingering spirits all being turned into points. There was no suspense as it was the expected outcome. Pro cheerfully chuckled as he glanced at the extra 680 points that he easily gained.

He then turned his gaze towards the remaining baleful spirit, the cockroach spirit. Feeling the gaze from the group of spirits in front of them, the cockroach spirit finally felt that something was wrong. Twitching its feelers around, it then noticed that the vacuum spirit had left at an unknown time! It seems ... that it was the only one left?!

That b*stard! It was still telling him earlier that it would cover his retreat, but it's actually the first one to run away?! Eeeek! The cockroach spirit quickly scuttled towards the doorway in an attempt to escape.

Of course, how could Pro let it go. Quickly dashing up to the escaping cockroach, Pro grabbed it and threw it away from the door. He then gladly shut the door with an evil grin, breaking the cockroach spirit's hope for escaping.

"Annoying pests like you that have entered my trap will have nowhere to escape!" Pro glared at the cockroach spirit while licking his lips.

The cockroach spirit's body trembled in fright as the utensils clattered against each other. It then futilely shot its utensils at Pro while Pro dashed towards it.

Shing! Clang! With a strong swipe, Pro diced the cockroach spirit in half! Then, to Pro's amazement, the two halves of the cockroach spirit actually reformed into two cockroach spirits that scuttled away in opposite directions!

Although they were now smaller in size due to being cut in half, they were both identical and Pro didn't know which one was real or if both of them are real. Even so, Pro knew it couldn't escape no matter where it ran. The entire stairway was his domain!

After swiftly sending Alice back to the fourth floor, Pro then started the hunt for the cockroach in the stairway. Using his domain perception to lock onto the evil spirit, he linked to the lower floor doorways to get close to it before smashing the cockroach spirit apart.

Unsurprisingly, the cockroach spirit split once more into two even smaller cockroach spirits. Pro grinned and believed that eventually it won't be able to split any longer!

So, he continued to chase the cockroach spirits while making sure that none escaped through the sixth floor door. Then, he went upwards and manually hunted the cockroaches without teleporting because he didn't want to disturb the upper floors by accident. After more than an hour of hunting, Pro finally smashed in the final fist-sized cockroach spirit and watched it disintegrate into black mist.

Like always, the annoying cut-scene that takes up word count was a must. Pro heard the clinking of utensils being used as he saw a vague, illusory image of an old, wooden dinner table appear in front of him. A multitude of mixed male and female voices of different ages echoed in the stairway.

"The children are burdens. They are just like cockroaches, popping up one after another."

"We can always get more from outside once we run out. That black robe man agreed to supply our glorious village."

"The food is lacking this winter. There's no need to keep them. Let them serve their purpose."

Clink. Clink. Clink. The scene faded away along with the diminishing echos of utensils hard at work.

[Host has eliminated an intruder in your domain. Domain is now absorbing the remains of the intruder ...]

[Absorption completed. Intruder was determined to be a Mid-Level Baleful Spirit. System Library updated with new info.]

[After absorbing a powerful spirit, host gains 890 life points.]

Pro furrowed his brows a bit as he stood in the silent, concrete stairway. After feeling a bit uncomfortable, Pro easily put this memory behind him. His heart was not so easily shaken.

He wasn't some do-good protagonist, he was closer to a villain. If there is profit or a special payment, he won't mind getting revenge if its convenient, but since he was only left with an annoying cut-scene, then he would just move on with life.

Glancing at the gloomy doors that radiated dense yin qi nearby, Pro didn't have the courage to explore the floor. Pro cautiously strolled back down the stairway and breathed a sigh of relief once he returned to the lower floors.

Although he could escape by teleporting if the stronger blood spirits decided to attack him, it was still better to not encounter them. Of course, the only reason he dared to blatantly walk up to hunt is because the cockroach kind of served as Pro's 'scout'. Seeing that it didn't attract the attention of the tenants of those floor, Pro didn't know if it was because they were interested or if they couldn't feel it.

"Does my domain automatically block the prying senses of spirits outside the domain?" Pro couldn't help but ponder over this peculiarity, but had no way of testing it out.

After a bit of pondering, Pro left the thought for later. For now, he needs to finish his hunt. Stepping into the sixth floor hallway once more, Pro grinned as his greedy eyes locked onto the closed door of apartment 664.

Strolling in front of the door, Pro chuckled out loud, "Ready or not, here I come~"

Bam! Pro the door smasher has did it again! The poor, innocent door was sent flying and could only silently cry over its fate. Why me?! I did nothing wrong!

Too bad, Pro couldn't hear its complaints. Strolling into the living room of apartment 664, Pro easily locked onto the vacuum hanging out in the corner of the living room.

As if sensing his gaze, dense black mist gathered around the vacuum and when the mist dispersed, the vacuum spirit has appeared in its place.

Screeeeee! The vacuum spirit threateningly roared at Pro as its vacuum tube blared like an elephant trunk. Of course, at this moment, it may even be begging for mercy instead of being threatening, but too bad, Pro didn't show it any mercy.

Dashing forward while firing yin needles at it, Pro easily approached the helpless vacuum spirit that was already heavily injured. The evil spirit tried to fight back, but its measly strength couldn't stand a chance against a blood spirit's chance, and it was sent smashing into the wall.

Thud! Screee! The vacuum spirit screamed in pain as it switched to ghost form, intending to phase through the wall and escaping to the next room. Pro grinned and gave its legs a deep cut as he also chased through the wall.

Tumbling through multiple rooms and causing a mess, Pro chased after the vacuum spirit like a dog chasing after his favorite toy. Of course, Pro wasn't playing with it, he intended to destroy it.

After a non-dramatic chase through only two apartments, the vacuum spirit already failed to hold on and finally released ... its life. With the roar of a vacuum, Pro felt himself being sucked into another grayscale scene.

A gloomy man was vacuuming the floor of a tiny shack. The scene seemed to be normal, except for the fact that there were pieces of flesh along with blood stains on the wall, ground, and nearby furnishing. Another abnormal fact was that there was a vacuum ... where did the electricity come from?

However, these questions went unanswered as the man silently finished his job of vacuuming the pieces of flesh. The man then left the scene to unplug the vacuum cord, leaving the vacuum alone in the room.

After a while, a humanoid figure formed from black mist dragged the man's body back into the room. A trail of blood was painted on the ground leading to the vacuum. Laying the weakly struggling man on the ground, the humanoid figure formed from black mist turned on the vacuum and rolled it towards the man as the scene shattered.

Pro didn't think too much about the cut-scene this time. He simply picked up the vacuum and swiftly dragged it back to his domain.

[Ding! Mysterious object with yin qi detected. Absorbing object ...]

[Host's domain has absorbed a possession object filled with yin qi. Host gains 950 life points.]

"Well, I guess I missed out on the memories of this final spirit because it didn't die in my domain, but at least the points are mostly still there," Pro muttered with not much regret.

Counting his gains this time, Pro's points had finally reached a whopping 7780. It was extremely close to his goal of 10,000!

"I will reach their soon! Maybe one more floor of harvest will bring me there, but it's much more risky to grind the upper floors now. According to the stairway blood spirit's memory, there should be a blood spirit hiding on the seventh floor!"

Pro frowned a bit as he recalled the information he knew. Although baleful spirits won't pose much of a threat to him now, but a blood spirit was a completely different story. Even a low-level blood spirit may cause him to perish if it has a weird enough ability. The bad thing is that he had no info on this blood spirit's ability, but only knew it hid there to recover.

Of course, there's a chance it had already left, but Pro wasn't willing to risk it. Maybe if he was a top-level blood spirit, he may not have much worries as a two-rank gap of strength may help resist the influence of some weird abilities.

Still, this means that Pro's path to harvest points inside from the spirits of the building has officially came to a halt. So, he could only turn to other sources of income.

"It seems that I will just have to grind my haunted house for now. I'm not far from my goal. With a couple more days of visitors, I may be able to easily gather enough points. It seems I can no longer go easy on the service workers even if they aren't greedy. All should be treated fairly in Toilet Wonderland in the future."

Returning to the fourth floor, Pro finally decided to remove his bottom line in dealing with the innocent. He didn't have the time to wait any longer as he needed the strength fast. Between his own survival and the lives of strangers, he chose his own.

Pro decided to harvest the full 40 points from each visitor from now on. If this accidentally causes their death when they leave, then Pro could only say they were unfortunate. Of course, if they wanted to drop dead in his domain, he could benevolently 'save' them by giving them a new life ... as a doll.

"Come one, come all, come be fertilizer for my domain."
