"Ouch!" I squirmed from the pain as Greg holds an ice pack against my cheek.
"I'm really sorry for what happened, Artemis," Greg apologized.
We were sitting at the back of his Ford Ranger truck in front of a convenience store int he middle of the night. The neon lights were flickering against the dark alley.
"Well, you have a crazy family, and it seems they don't like me," I said, taking away the ice pack from his hand. I sighed. I looked at him in the eye, "Do you really mean that you're going to marry me?"
He was taken aback. We had this long silence while having a staring contest. He looked away to my lips and leaned in.
My heart was beating too fast as his shoulders brushed against mine creating a bolt along my spine.
"Why? Would you say yes?" he whispered.
