"Liehen! Oh dear!! You look… different" the woman said with a bright smile on her face. She didn't look like anything out of the ordinary. She was petite, with long black hair and a tiny sharp nose. Her eyes though, were glowing with happiness and something else. She really reminded her of Victor about to slay someone for a mean comment they made towards her.
'Huh, there really is a female version of Victor, I wonder why I imagined it so.'
"Hi, you must be Shengli". The woman was slightly taken aback by her hello.
"What do you mean I must be Shengli, who else would I be?! What's wrong with you today?! You got a promotion and now you don't want to recognise your own friends?! Dear this is not very nice, stop it, you're breaking my heart!" the woman started looking sad all of a sudden.
' Damn, this was so real' she really needed to wake up now.
"Oh I'm sorry, do I know you?!" she tried pushing the woman, hoping to cause a crack in the dream world's walls. This was her chance to get out, back to her real life and then try very hard to never sleep again.
"Liehen this Is not funny! Now come sit down, tell me all about it! When do you start, are you excited to work for 'the man' himself?! Was the interview hard? Did you have to do anything to prove your skills?! Tell me!!" there were so many questions thrown at her, Raven struggled to keep a straight face. This dream was something else. She didn't have any memories of any interview or who 'the man himself' was. If this was her dream, she should have some background, remember what was going on so she'd cooperate, but this felt different.
The nagging feeling that something else was going on was starting to take root in her mind. This was strange and very unlike her. Could this possibly not be her dream? Maybe not a dream at all?
'Ridiculous' she waived her hand hoping to make this idea disappear. 'What else could it possibly be'. Deciding this was not her escape moment, she started to cooperate with the overly chatty woman and make up some stuff. She had to remember when she interviewed for human executive assistants and made up some story about the tasks she had to complete. It sounded right, after all if this 'the man himself' CEO was anything serious, then he couldn't afford an executive assistant with less than the skills she would expect herself.
The chatty woman was now listening with an expression of awe on her face. 'Did she push her too hard?'
"Liehen I had no idea you were so qualified and competent! I always knew you were well educated, but damn, this is next level! Oh nooo!!" she suddenly exclaimed "my dreams for a promotion are now shattered!! How am I supposed to compete with that?! You are simply too good Liehen! And now everyone will expect the same from me!!! You're just too much!" she started wailing with a fake cry and a high pitched voice.
Raven was now ready to just walk away from this loud woman, she was just too much.
The chatty woman suddenly stopped and started grinning at her.
"So tell me darling, are you proud and happy to be the executive assistant of the president and CEO of a conglomerate? The most eligible bachelor in the country?! Owner of a fortune of billions?!"
Raven snorted at the description, she had more.
Seeing the unimpressed look on her face, the overly-chatty woman was taken aback.
"Don't tell me you're not impressed, two days ago you were beside yourself fangirling every time you saw the man, now you're over it?!"
What was she saying?! Two days ago? She had no memories of anything like that, and surely her dream would have made that up. Could it be that even her dream mind would not accept her fawning over a rich guy for no reason? That must be it.
"Shengli, I'm not interested, I can do much better by myself, why would I care about someone like that".
The woman's jaw dropped. A look of incredulity on her face told Raven this was not normal behaviour for this character her dream was making her play.
It was time to go though, and cause some more disturbances and hopefully break out.
She left Liehen's friend staring in awe at her and headed to the company. This was her chance.
"Wait Liehen! We should go together! I want to brag about my friend the executive assistant!"
Rolling her eyes she waited for the overly-excited woman to join her so they could walk together.
"Are you off today? What's with with this look?"
She just nodded, not wanting to reply to the woman. She couldn't just blurt out her plans. This was so weird. She didn't think today would be her day off, so now was the time to plot the most scandalous thing to do in an office to force herself out of this dream world.
