Raven ran to her car not caring if she was being followed or not. She was going to have a word with Rene and draw some lines in the sand. This was not acceptable. She had promised to help him, even offered him protection, but now he was following her.
Ready to kill him and end this miserable story once and for all, she drove straight to his mansion breaking the speed limit. As soon as she got to the checkpoints she hesitated for one second before smashing her new car straight into the gate, taking everyone by surprise.
All the security guards suddenly mobilised to stop her car, but she was too fast for them, and didn't seem to care whether she ran them off or not. The property was on high alert now, and the security alarm was ringing in the house.
Surprised by the commotion outside, Rene quickly headed to his desk drawer, pulling out his gun, and heading towards the back door of his home to take care of intruders. He might be trapped in this fantasy world, but he was certainly not a regular man.
Agile and silent like a panther, he moved out the back door and around the house, when he heard a loud crash at the front door, the entire house shaking. He assumed he heard an explosion when he heard glass shattering from the front of the house. Was this a full blown assault? Did this world even have the capacity for this?
Slightly shook by the unexpected turn of events, he slowly moved towards the front of the house to assess the situation. He had trained people, but none of them were really prepared for what seemed like a tactical military assault. He would be the only one able to deal with this, but he needed eyes on what was going on.
Before he could take another step and go around the corner, he felt a shiver down his spine and the cold barrel of a gun at the back of his head. He instantly recognised it was a silencer and his lips curved in a smile. An assassin's preference. He would always be able to recognise the feeling of it.
He quickly drew in a breath, not making any suddenly movements. Clearly this assassin was willing to negotiate, otherwise he would be dead already. Without wanting to antagonise the man he spoke calmly and clearly.
"I won't shout for help. I believe you're willing to negotiate given that I'm still alive. Name your terms."
Impressed by his reaction, Raven smiled. Maybe there were some hidden depths to this man beyond being just a businessman. What did he do in real life if negotiating with killers seemed so normal to him?
"You have exactly 15 seconds to explain yourself or I'll put a bullet in your head." Raven's cold domineering voice came from behind him and he froze. He didn't expect her to be the one holding the gun, but tried really hard to calm his emotions now, lest she would disappear. As soon as he heard the first words out of her mouth he knew what this was about and he was cursing himself for underestimating her and being so stupid. He should've left her alone, now she would kill him without a second thought.
He heard the click of the safety being pulled and knew he needed to make a very good excuse if he wanted to get out of this. She had no affection towards him, he knew that much.
"I'm sorry, I was stupid and worried." He decided to go with the truth, no matter how much of an idiot it made him sound. He was hoping she would put the safety back but he couldn't hear it.
Flames were now dancing on the other side of where they were. He was still crouching in his attack position, and he could see her shadow holding the gun and her stance ready in case he made any sudden moves. He wasn't planning to, but couldn't help being impressed with her. She really took him by surprise. He had maybe five seconds left.
He felt the gun moving slightly away from his head, but before he could relax he heard a shot. His life flashed before his eyes settling on Raven's ruthless eyes as a memento of how stupid he was.
A bullet whizzed past his ear piercing the concrete by his foot.
"You're lucky you know how stupid that move was." She said, her cold voice pulling him out of his dazed state. He wasn't dead. He released the breath he was holding, and without making any sudden moves he managed to say "Can I turn around now?"
No answer from the other party. He looked to his side where he could initially see his shadow but she wasn't there anymore.
In the split second he gathered his thoughts she was gone.
Who was this woman? She was almost as good as him. If tonight was any indication, she was probably just as good as him.
Without wasting another second, he rounded the corner they were hidden behind to see the damage she had done.
She drove her car into his front door and it had exploded, taking the windows and half the reception area of his house with it.
His little vixen was an absolute menace. He could just about picture it. She would've had to jump out of the moving car just as it had straightened in the driveway. There was no other way for her to make it to the back door, track him and wait for him otherwise. The woman was crazy but she certainly knew how to make an impression.
He needed to quickly deal with his men before police was alerted.
Just as he was about to shout at his men to put out the fire and calm down, he noticed a lone silhouette was making her way towards his parked cars. She picked the most expensive car in his collection, got in like it was no bother, and drove off.
He was proud of her, the entrance was magnificent, but the exit was more impressive.
Sad to be parting with his newest acquisition, he started barking orders at his men to put out the fire, the threat was gone. And what a threat she was…
Once the fire was put out and his staff had regained some form of order, he pulled out his phone. He was going to call her to apologise. Before he could, he found a text message.
"Don't bother asking for the car back, I'm keeping it. Just as a side note, mine drives better, but this one is not bad."
'I guess she's not mad anymore' he thought to himself, his lips slowly curving into a pleased smile. He looked terrifying to everyone watching him. Rene was actually just pleased. His little firecracker was showing her true colours. Sad she wasn't actually his, he gave some more instructions to his men and decided to book a hotel for the night. He wouldn't be able to sleep in the ruckus.
He probably wouldn't be able to sleep at all after what happened, but a hotel would be more comfortable.
