Eyes on Catherine

After waking up from her trance, Catherine quickly walked up to William. As she glance at the man beside her, she felt like he was a bit familiar. It was as if she met a person with a similar look.

After the initial silence, Catherine spoke up. "Good Sir, How did you know my name?" she had not had the chance to introduce herself, but the teacher in question already knows her name.

"You are Catherine Faucigny, correct?" William asked in a serious tone while evading her question. "Yes, I am. And you are?" although she did not know his name, Catherine felt that the man is not dangerous. Instead, she felt safe and calm.

"Ah! Here we are." William completely ignored her question. He entered the room in a graceful manner, charming all of the females inside.

"Shall I put this here?" William asked the nurse close to him. "Yes… Yes, you may. Thank you." the nurse replied shyly, on the brink of passing out.

"Then, I'll take my leave. Doctor Catherine, I'll see you later." William then bid goodbye. Up until William's back couldn't be seen, Catherine was in all silence. She was curious as to who that man was and how did he know her name.

There wasn't any nameplate on her chest, and none of the people around mentioned her name within his sight. With this thought circling in her mind, she absentmindedly walked up to the table to help them unpack and organize.

"Doctor Catherine, who was that handsome Professor? Are you acquainted with him? What is his name? Can you intrude me next time?" several nurses walked up to Catherine for information.

After being bombarded with questions, Catherine sighed and looked towards the senior doctors on the side who watched the fray. Seeing that she was about to be devoured by them, a person called out to the group. Unexpectedly, it was not a doctor. But the newly arrived Vice-Chancellor.

"What a lovely atmosphere we have here. I have seen Professor Moriarty walking out from here, Are we starting now?"

This particular sentence made Catherine's ears perk up. "Chancellor, Excuse me for asking, but the man, I mean Teacher that you spoke of, is it the blond-haired man who walked out just now? You called him Moriarty, right?"

"Yes. He is our new Mathematics Professor, Mr. William James Moriarty. He came from London." the chancellor replied enthusiastically.

"No wonder he looked familiar…" Catherine chuckled as everything was clear to her. The uncanny resemblance to Louis, and the Moriarty Name. "He is Albert's younger brother…" Catherine smiled while looking out the window. some of the nurses couldn't understand her action and decided to let her be.

At that moment, the trio, namely Lord Zachary, Doctor Helene, and Doctor Luke entered together once again. Still, with the weird atmosphere around, all the people present decided to ignore it and just went to their respective works which made the trio sigh in relief.

"Catherine, You'll be my partner for today's mission." It was lord Zachary who spoke first as soon as they arrive at Catherine's table. "What about Doctor Luke?" Catherine asked while taking a glance at the silent doctor Luke.

Lord Zachary cough out and turned away while doctor Helene smiled. It was Luke who answered. "I'll be pairing up with Doctor Helene for the rest of the mission. Don't worry, I'll be fine." It was like the weird atmosphere was not present, Luke gave a smile. It was the kind of smile he always use whenever you approach him in the past.

For some reason, you felt uncomfortable with that smile. You couldn't understand what that feeling was so you decided to ignore it. "Okay. Take care." Catherine bowed to doctor Helene as a greeting and the latter nodded in return.

"We will be off then. We are in charge of the third years and would assist some of the second years." without further ado, doctor Helene grabbed Luke's hands and walked out. Feeling perplexed by the current situation, Catherine asked Lord Zachary.

"Lord Zachary, May I ask what is going on between you three? Not just me, but the whole team seems to notice that all three of you are always together, and a weird atmosphere would be wound up whenever you three are present together. Earlier, Luke seems to be acting weird again, It was different to when I rejected him though."

Lord Zachary did not answer her immediately. He put down the stethoscope in his hands and faced her with a serious and somber look. "Catherine, all things happen for a reason. Whatever happens in the future, don't be too caught up in it. The only thing that matters is for you to continue believing what you think is right. Always remember, Every person changes, don't be too shocked if you'll discover that he isn't what you thought he is."

Catherine was more perplexed than she already is after receiving that kind of cryptic reply. She wanted to ask more but Lord Zachary had already gone and cut off the conversation. Seeing that some students are already in the room, Catherine calmed herself down and went to check them on.

Unbeknownst to her, there were four sets of eyes who witness that scene and had many thoughts about it. Firstly, it was Lord Zachary. With a look of worry in his eyes, followed by William who arrived together with the students, and it was a look of curiosity. Doctor Helene, who came back to get some supplies along with Doctor Luke both have a look of amusement and anger in their eyes.

"Hello, are you a first year?" Catherine ask as soon as she sat in her sit while facing the young student. Unexpectedly, It was William who replied to her while handling a record book.

"Yes, he is. Titus Percival, First Year. Here are the records of all the students in my class. Please refer to this information."

"Professor Moriarty, It was nice to see you again. Thanks for the help you rendered earlier." Catherine replied warmly. She then opens up the book and reads its contents.

"According to your chart here, all of your statistics are normal, but I would still conduct a full body check-up, just to be sure."

"Thank you, miss."The student called Titus replied shyly. Almost immediately, William countered it. "You are blushing, Titus. Feeling shy?"

Followed by the teasing of his fellow classmate, Titus blushed while rebutting the statement. "Of c-course n-not! I am just honored to be checked upon by professionals."

"Okay, Let us not tease him any longer, or he might become a ripe tomato at this point." a dark-haired student behind Titus called out. He seemed to be on good terms with Titus, considering he could make jokes at him.

"Lucian, you're just adding fuel to the fire."Titus pouted. All of the students, including William and Catherine, laughed at this scene.

"That is true enough. Let's get back to where we've stopped. Doctor." William looked at Catherine as a signal.

"Yes. Titus, can I talk to you alone over there? We will be joining with Professor Moriarty." Catherine softly asked as she pointed to a bed behind her. Both Titus and William went to the bed. The usual routine check-up was done, including psychological talks.

"So far, I have not seen any discrepancies on your health report. My finding is all normal. Just continue your daily intake of foods and you'll be fine." Catherine happily gave William the report while talking to Titus.

"Keep it up, Titus." William glanced at the result before putting it in a folder. They all went back to the desk and called up the next student. This process went up until almost all of the students in the first year levels are all done with the check-up.

"Lucian Atwood?" Catherine called up from her seat. Seeing it was that jovial joker student from earlier, Catherine approached with humor. "So it's you, Mr. Add fuel to the fire. Shall we…" Catherine then lead up Lucian to a bed where William was already waiting.

"Ah.. yes, Lucian. The last student." William smiled as they entered the room. Giving way, he led Lucian up to the bed and sat beside him.
