Hours went by and the boat was back on track. Alar’am devoted himself to fuel the boat. Other guards were exceptionally asked to rest as they were lacking lot of hours of sleep. Elonidas couldn’t sleep, his conversation with the king on loop in his mind. He looked up at the ceiling of his room. He shared that room with the other royal guards except from Rene’lis that had her own room. Elonidas was in civil clothes which was so rare since he was always guarding the king. He was just feeling the slow movement of the boat, it was calm, yet it wasn’t helping him ease his mind. A lot was at stake here. He could just do as he was told and sell the Paladins. But that would mean condemning his brother to a lifelong imprisonment. He closed his eyes and tried forcing himself to sleep.
