Uninvited Guest 3.0

Part 03

Wendy's POV*

"Who...Are...You?"

The man seems to apologize, "Right, how impolite of me. I apologize, if I am presumptuous, allow me to introduce myself, I am Cyrille Marius Jourell, father of Esme, and Lean. Nice to meet you, Mrs. Lesham."

"How did you know my name?"

He answered, "Cliché, but somewhat understandable. I'm sure there must be a whole pack of questions wondering in your head. Let's answer about what you asked earlier first, capiche?"

"Sure, whatever."

His tone sounded offended, "You seem like a rude teenager, so I hesitate to leave my precious children with you." The man took a deep breath before continuing, he looks hesitated for a while, "Well, basically I know about you and your entire family, even your friends. The friend who gave you a ride for the night, I also know that tomorrow you guys will be working on an assignment at the cute cafe near her house."

"How could that be?"

He sighed once again, "You're asking again, are you still confused? Anyway, I know everything, so feel free to ask."

"What is happening at Lily's house? You said you knew everything right? Then it must be an easy question for you."

The voice sounds dumbfounded, "Wait...That's it? You don't want anything else? Fancy cars, branded clothing, or fame, and wealth maybe? No?"

I shook my head firmly, "Nope, I've been dying to know, but at the same time I'm scared if I knew."

"Alright then, at 2 pm, you'll have the answer you're looking for, feel free to search it. Now, I want you to wake up in 3...2...1..."

Lily's voice echoed, "Wendy...Wendy...WENDY...Wake up, geez I thought you're in eternal sleep."

"I'm Wendy, not sleeping beauty, waiting for Philip. I wait, for my Peterpan."

And just like that I am now fully awake and was confronted with a girl who seemed to have just finished taking a shower, wearing her hands on her hips and a towel covering her short hair. She then proceeded to arrange her hair and face on her dressing table, occasionally chatting with me or nagging me. I glanced at the alarm clock on Lily's bedside table, it's 9 am, I haven't woken up this early in a long time.

At the front of the stairs, there was a very delicate scent, and the sounds of the sizzling meat were reaching out to me, I can hear it calling. Oh, turns out Lily's mom was the culprit, a pale pink apron tied to her body, as she swirls around the pancake dough on the frying pan. Her hair is tied in a high ponytail, which reminds me of my mother.

I miss her, but whenever she is at home, I will be busy elsewhere, I want to go home. We had breakfast together, and it was pretty fun, her mom turns out to be a really nice person. Now, I'm tidying up the things that I need to work on at the cafe later, whether it's my laptop, wallet, or important files, already arranged in my tote bag.

We went to the cafe he said, her mom who drives us there, about 15 minutes we got there. The cute little cafe is now in sight, the exterior and interior are very cute, how could I miss a place as beautiful as this. This place is filled with flowers that are displayed in every corner, and the menu is unique and interesting. Wait a minute, I think I'm suitable to promote this cafe, hihi. I got carried away, all these flowers forgot about last night's events, wait, damn I remember it again.

After ordering some of their best menus, without further ado, we went straight to the task earlier, the sooner it was done the sooner I could rest. Well, it doesn't feel like time is running so fast, the day is getting longer, the sun is getting hotter, the time is almost 2 in the afternoon. Recalling the words of the old man in my dream, can I believe it? Can I ask it? I don't know, but let's try. I looked at Lily who was engrossed in staring at her cellphone screen, not moving at all, although sometimes I caught her smiling once in a while.

I called, "Hm...Lily?"

The bobbed haired girl turned her head to mine, "Oh, do you want to go back now?"

"No, it's just...There's something that really bugs me since...I come to your house."

She put her hand on one of her crossed knees and answered again. "Let me guess, you're curious about what happened to you last night, don't you?"

"How did..."

Before I finished speaking, the girl interrupted, "I heard it, from someone this morning. He said you wanted to know about it, and you've been dying to find the answer, am I wrong?"

"How?"

Lily snapped her fingers, "That, he told me that you asked him a...lot."

I replied, "Well, he's not wrong, I am curious."

She replied, "Alright, come closer. We don't want any uninvited guests to hear our conversation," She continued, "So, it all starts when you forgot to read the paper I gave, I told you so many times to read it, but you still forgot about it."

I just shrugged, "I told you it was raining hard, and I don't even know where I've put it."

Lily shook her head whilst giving me a snare, "Unbelievable, okay so let's continue," She took a deep breath before continuing to explain, "If you hear the password code go off multiple times before hearing wet footsteps coming your way, and animal sounds followed after. Then you woke up the entire house, that's why I told you to read before you came in, to not bother those who are asleep, to sleep early, even though it's not even late. Honestly, I don't know what will happen."

Without realizing it, my mouth fell open to hearing her explanation, "So, are they still awake?"

Lily just shrugged, "I don't know, but my mother would probably send them back by now."

"I'm sorry, really."

She gave a long sigh and a single nod as an answer, "It's okay, you better be careful next time, or else it could be worse."

"But, what are those things? I mean creatures, no offense though."

She nodded, "Sure, they were the ones who will plunge us into hell, the devil's men. And if you see a creature with thick hair and huge legs, you have met the guardian, sometimes he is kind and sometimes vice versa, depending on his mood. Kinda funny isn't it?"

"Huh, very funny indeed, haha."

A peal of tiny laughter was heard, "So, did Alin drove you there yesterday?

"Ah, yeah, he drove me by and as soon as we got there, I immediately ordered him a cab, then he went straight home."

Lily scrunched her nose whilst thinking, occasionally scratching her head. "It's a bit peculiar, you know. He never comes to family events, either because he's sick, or studying, except when the event is held somewhere other than my house, he's always there. A bit strange isn't it?"

I exclaimed, trying to lighten the mood a little, "Maybe he doesn't like your house's color, I mean he's a boy, I think my brother wouldn't even bother to come if I had a fully feminine house like yours."

Lily exhales, with pursed lips, "Yeah, maybe I'm just overreacting."
