As I sat at the table with my friends, I tried to focus on their conversation and laughter, but the constant pressure of the voices in my head was making it increasingly difficult for me to relax. Suddenly, a deep, husky voice cut through the noise in my mind, shouting at me to get my mind straight and warning me that I would be in great danger if I didn't take the pendant back soon. The mention of the twin star-shaped pendant that had appeared after I woke up from my nightmare the day before sent a shiver down my spine. I could still feel the deep wound it had left on my right palm, perfectly shaped like the pendant. The urgency in the voice was so intense that I knew I had to act immediately.
My friends noticed my sudden change in demeanor and asked if I was okay, but I could barely hear them over the pounding of my heart. Ignoring their concerned looks, I excused myself from the table and hurried out of the crowded room, the voice still echoing in my mind.
