Chapter 18 - Betrayal
The school closed after the teacher was done with his lecture, the sun was high in the sky at it's brightest but for an unusual reason a dark cloud in the sky that had been there all alone for a strange reason.
This cloud looked small but everyone in the Flame continent could see it, Although there was no strange aura from it. It just appeared to be a normal rain cloud.
The students in the classroom were all filing out when nigo noticed that zara was not among them, he had been absent minded during class wondering what he would get for zara on their last day of the term.
It was a tradition for the friends every end and beginning of the term to buy presents for one another. Sometimes they'd choose to buy something to eat together instead. Ejiro was no longer around now so nigo had to get a gift for zara and vice versa.
Nigo didn't see zara after a thorough search "I just wonder where she is" he thought to himself as he made his way to one of the merchant who sells drinks at the school premises
Nigo thought she'd be outside but she wasn't, she had told him that she would be done with her training today and she was even the one who took him to the infirmary earlier.
"Good day Grandpa Qinhong" Nigo greeted the man as he stopped before his shop.
"Ho Ho if it isn't young master nigo" Qinhong replied in a delighted tone
"I'd like two bottles of refined premium blast" Nigo said
"Ho Ho what is the event today? A lot of youngsters have been here to buy the refined premium blast" he said
The refined premium blast was an expensive drink, it was so expensive no none ever bought it for a whole term. It was expensive because it was made with a fruit from the absolute forest in the spirit gate to existence.
The fruit was incredibly hard to grow but it could be used for a lot of things. Al though it was not useful for evolution of one's Utility energy, it could instantly replenish a person's Utility energy in their liaison network back to full hundred percent when consumed. It was also a very sweet fruit
Nigo chose to buy this for zara incase she was still not done with her training and would becoming out soon, he didn't know of anything else to give to her.
The old man packed the drinks and handed it over to nigo
"That would be two gold spirit coins" he said to nigo
Nigo was the son of the guardian so money was he least of his problems he reached for his pocket and brought three gold spirit coins and gave it to the man
"Ho Ho you are truly the young master indeed but it is only two spirit coins that you are required to pay" Qinhong said in delight
"Just take it, I had planned to spend three gold spirit coins anyway" Nigo said as he took the two bottles
"Did you intend to buy another one for your deceased friend?" Qinhong asked
"..." Nigo didn't respond to his question
Realising he might have said something wrong Qinhong quickly said "i might have spoken too much doaccept my appology;sorry for your loss"
"It's nothing" Nigo said "you are right any way"
"Ah I see" Qinhong said nodding his head
"In that case..." his gleeful smile appeared on his face once more "allow me to inform you that zara is waiting for you inside"
"Oh" Nigo replied
"Yes" she's there and she just used her perception to scan the area to find you so you should head inside" Qinhong said with a smile on his wrinkled face
"Thank you" Nigo said, although he could sense zara already, he didn't tell Qinhong that he knew about it
"Come again some other time!" Qinhong shouted at the departing nigo
Nigo walked into the hall way to see zara standing with her back facing him, he walked to meet her but she suddenly stared moving.
Nigo thought she was trying to play with him but the more he moved the quicker she became.
"Zara!"
Nigo shouted her name making her halt her movement and stand in place. She turned back to look at him.
She was looking different from her usual self today, she wore a blue shirt with a white pair of pants.
Nigo rushed forward to meet the zara who was standing in place looking at him approach her.
"I bought this... for you" Nigo said. His breath still slightly heavy
Zara looked at the drink in his hand with a smile on her face but suddenly her expression changed
"Get that piece of shit away from my face!" She said
"Zara wha...."
"Shut that garbage mouth of yours!"Nigo wanted to speak but zara cut him off, he was confused by her reaction
He thought she was joking and just trying to prank him
"Heh...drop the act I can see through it" he said making an attempt to hold her hand
"Don't you dare touch me!" she thundered, this time everyone around turned to look at the two of them
"Did nigo just anger zara"
"Heh I'm not surprised that guy has a knack for getting on the bad side of those powerful individuals"
"He even got into trouble in the morning"
"I wonder what he did"
People began to murmur among themselves, they sincerely wondered what had happened between the both of them for zara to shout at him in such an annoyed tone
Nigo who was the center of attraction was even more confused than the rest of them. He had only given her the drink and yet she was so irritated by it that she yelled at him in an unfriendly tone
"What did I d..."
"I said you should shut the hell up!" Zara s thundered and this time an icy light flashed in her eyes
"A cripple like you believing that you can be my friend is the most stupid thing I have ever seen in my life" zara said
Boom!!
Explosions rang in nigo's head as he looked at her dumbfounded, he had always been friends with her yet she had just said that
"But.."
"I said shut up!" Zara said

The earth under her feet began to shatter under the overflowing energy she was trying to control.
Nigo still stood there staring at her
"You know you are the most useless piece of shit I have ever seen in my life, you are not just useless you are also foolish" she continued
"From Today I don't want to ever see you again"
"!!" Nigo was shocked by those words in fact everyone present were all shocked by those words
"GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!
She said as she turned round to leave nigo standing.
His hand was still stretched with the drinks in his hands, and then it slipped from his grip and

If fell on the spirit stone on the floor and scattered to pieces.
Nigo didn't even realise it at this time because he couldn't even tell how he felt, he could barely breath, he felt his body loosing g strength as time sent by. Every where was hot but he couldn't feel the heat of the day.
All he felt was a dark and empty void around him. Even his heart beat seemed to disappear.
He was once again alone in this world, the pain he felt was indeed a great pain but he didn't cry he couldn't cry no matter what. If she had chosen to betray and abandon him then why should he waste tears for her.
His body felt heavy but he tried to drag himself out of the hallway, he walked away slowly but steadily.
"What the hell was that?"
"I wasn't the one shouted at but I felt it all the same"
"Poor guy, he lost his friend to the grip of death but now he has been betrayed by the other. Is he cursed"
"I thought being the Guardian's son would give him a kind of leverage over the rest students but who would have thought"
Laments of students filled the air one after the other as nigo made his way out of the hallway
"That Raging seas brat, just who does she think she is?" Lily one of nigo's guards said
"This kids life is filled with endless pain and rejection" victor said while shaking his head
They had all seen everything that had happened to nigo and they truly felt sorry for him
Nigo continued moving until he got out of the school
"Boss what do we do now?" Yushi asked Xiao ling
The trio had been watching the events unfold before their very eyes, yushi was shocked because from what he saw nigo didn't do anything to zara but she treated him the way she did, she truly did earn the name "ice witch"
"Boss...." Nelson wanted to speak up but stopped talking because of the look he saw on Xiao ling's face

Xiao line's bones made popping sounds under the pressure he exerted on his fingers
"Nigo, not only did you insult me you also deign to anger my beloved, for this I will make you pay" Xiao ling said with a sinister look on his face
Yushi and Nelson shuddered under the pressure and malice radiating from
Xiao ling's body
"Go after him!"
He ordered and the trio moved in the direction nigo had just left in.
Nigo kept moving his legs until he came outside the school, he turned to look at the forest on the side
He began to walk into it at a slow pace, once again the people who saw him entering the forest thought he was crazy but they didn't bother that much because he was the Guardian's son
Just as nigo entered the forest, Nelson, Yushi and Xiao ling came out of the school gate as well.
Xiao ling used his perception to sense the area and turned to look at the forest.
"He's in the forest!"
Xiao ling shouted and entered the forest along side his crew
"!!" Nigo who was still deep in thought felt his body jolt in a strange way. He was confused because this was different from every other time.
He clenched his chest with his right arm and held unto his own drink with his left.
"What is going on?" He asked himself, was this because of zara's betrayal or was it because of something else.
He felt strange, he tried to walk one more time but
Boom!!
He was sent flying by wind utility energy,
He continued rolling until he stopped, he stood to his feet and looked at himself, surprisingly he didn't sustain any injuries.
Xiao ling jumped out and appeared before him
"What do you want?" Nigo asked he didn't want any trouble and all he wanted was to be alone
"You dare to anger my beloved!" Xiao ling said
"Shouldn't you be happy, why are you angry?" Nigo asked he didn't have time exchange words with anyone right now
"You dare to speak to my boss in such a manner, today we will teach you a lesson!" Yushi said he always wanted to beat nigo and the opportunity has finally presented itself
"Heh.. you all are fools" nigo said, his face turning sinister
"Oh do you believe those guards of yours can save you?" Nelson said

Xiao ling dashed at nigo to beat the shit out of him, he released sixty percent of his power as he circulated wind utility energy
Nigo was prepared for the worse case scenario he jumped to the side but how could his speed be compared o that of a staff domain user?

He was sent flying for ten metres. His bag was knocked for about five metres away from himself he continued rolling on the floor before he finally came to a halt

He felt his body jolt one more time!
Although blood was slipping from the side of his lips
"Senior do we interfere?" When the blood appeared Kevwe asked victor with a worried look on his face
"Don't speak, watch!" Victor said "if he wanted our help he would have called us by now so how'd your horses"
The four of them looked at nigo only to notice that there was no physical injuries on his body.
Xiao ling smiled and began to approach the nigo who was still on the floor
"You had your chances but you wasted them"

Nigo few his body jolt once more
Xiao ling stopped five metres away from nigo
"Useless trash like you doesn't deserve to breath the same as zara"

Nigo felt his body jolt once more, he wasn't weak but anytime he tried to stand his body would shudder
Xiao ling began to circulate wind around his arm
"After this term you won't be coming to the school any more"
"Take this as my parting gift"
