MEMORY: Love Dance (Part 1)

Before the school year ended, I had received a gift from Calvin’s mom.

“She insists that I give you this,” Calvin told me as he handed me two tickets to a museum. Mrs. Lorenzo had already thanked me for solving her daughter’s case, so I didn’t expect I’d be receiving something more.

“Mom’s working at the MMCA and they’re having a week-long festival. It’s going to be fun so make sure to bring someone there with you, she said.”

Of course. That’s why the two tickets.

And obviously, there’s only one person whom I want to bring with me. The only question is how to ask her.

Thursday night, I had come up with several lines to choose from:

1. Yana, are you free Saturday? Wanna hang out with me?

2. Hey Yana, remember Calvin? His mom gave us museum tickets. Actually me—she gave me two—and I don’t have anyone I can think of inviting but you.

3. Hey Yana, do you like museums? I’m thinking of going there this Saturday and I’m kinda wondering if you like to go too?
