MEMORY: MVPs & Cheerleaders (Part 2)

I woke up with a wet cheek pressed to my pillow. Did I cry in my sleep? It didn’t take long for me to realize it was my drool. I moved my head away until it touched someone’s back. “Mm, Yana,” I mumbled half-asleep, reaching for the person next to me. I slung an arm around her waist, slipping a leg in the space between hers. I held her tight as I buried my face on her back. “I miss you…”

“Ava,” the person next to me mumbled back. “You’re pretty… pretty heavy…” She tugged my hand and clasped it with hers.

Ava?

No.

No…

Go get her.

Get your girl, Kira.

My eyes flung open, realizing it couldn’t be Yana. Of course. Carefully, I untangled myself away from Kira who was sleeping next to me. She wouldn’t let go of my hand, though, so I had to get up–

“Finally, one of you is up.”
