"Why am I feeling so thirsty?", Chaoxiang got up from his bed and headed downstairs.
"Is she asleep? Then why are the lights on?", he is wondering but he headed the kitchen.
He drank a glass of water and pressed the lights off before heading back to his room. "I guess I can sleep now then.", he said and jumped to his bed.

"Go and run for your life. In this house, you just can't escape."
Meixiu is hardly taking a step and ends up falling into her knees. He is chasing her, the man is chasing her and the only thought that is coming up to her whole system is she has to run. But how can she do that if the man purposely scattered nails on the floor?
"Got ya!"
She tried screaming, hoping someone will hear her grief as the man let his knife run on her wrist. She saw nothing but blood and her sight immediately spin like a roller coaster. The man is gritting his teeth while he is running the knife in her wrist up and down, as if he is making her hand a violin.
The man is not even contented and started doing the same thing with her other wrist. Her screams are slowly fading and she can't understand why no one's hearing her voice.
"Please have mercy."
The man continued creating a way to get into her veins, using the knife like a saw and the sawdust is her blood that keeps gushing out.
"Dad!", she finally able to say who the verdict is.
She saw him grinning while his fedora's creating a dark shadow in his face. He gripped her neck and tied a rope into it.
"Please stop! Dad!"

*bang
"What was that?", Chaoxiang was awakened by a certain noise downstairs.
"Did she fall on the couch?", Chaoxiang asked and sneaked his head between the space of the open door and the wall.
He saw no one's on the couch. "She did fall!", he laughed with his thoughts and is about to close his door when he heard her whimpering and her screams lingered straight to his ears.
"Dad!", the anxious tone in her voice is what pushed Chaoxiang to run downstairs and call her.
"Meixiu wake up!", he is shaking her body and she keeps holding her wrist.
"Meixiu!"
She is now coughing aggressively and Chaoxiang is dead worried about her.
"Meixiu!", he even slapped her but she is still not waking up.
"Hey Meixiu fight back!"
He felt her held his hand and he gripped her, tucking her closer to his body, hugging her really tight until he heard her crying.
"Meixiu! I'll get you some water."
He carried her and brought her back to the couch. Chaoxiang immediately ran into the kitchen to get some water when he remembered what Ruomei said to him before he married Meixiu.
"Don't turn the lights off if you're sleeping with her or at least turn on a lampshade.", he remembered her words.
"Why? Is she going to die?", he even joked.
"You'll trigger her weirdest dreams so don't ever try."
"Tsk! Why am I so forgetful? Nothing like this would happen if only I remember Ruomei's reminder."
As he get back into the living room, he saw her looking devastated. She is just looking at the ceiling but her tears are still overflowing from her eyes.
"Hey water. I'm really sorry for turning the lights off. I didn't mean to do that.", he said and he accepted the glass full of water.
"Thank you. I am okay now, go back to sleep.", her hands are still shaking but she is drawing her husband away.
She went back to bed confidently because the kitchen lights are now open. She faked Chaoxiang and closed her eyes as if nothing happened and after a few minutes of pretending, Chaoxiang went back to his room.
Meixiu looked at her wrists and saw them turning red. Maybe because she is gripping them tight earlier. "Why are you still haunting me?", Meixiu said to herself.
