KEEP HER CLOSE TO YOU

"Qianfang, see that car down the street?"

"The one that's parked almost in front of the cafe?"

"Yes I think that's a friend of yours."

"I don't think so. I just moved here so I'm not familiar with anyone."

"But he knows your name."

"Really?"

"Oh there he is. The one who's approaching us."

Qianfang glued his eyes to the man who is coming their way. That familiar guy who once acted as a concerned friend. The same guy who used him for his schemes in exchange for his mother's hospitalization. The same guy who corrects his eyes with a pair of eyeglasses but has a clear vision of what he wants, a woman named Yang Meixiu.

"Qianfang, your boss said this time mostly is your break. Can we talk for a minute?"

"Yes Sir."

He voluntarily agreed and walked away from the cafe's counter. For sure, this Jianguo who is walking ahead of him is a good friend of his boss. So if he comes here for a talk, he for sure has already talked to Qianfang's boss about it.

"Can I ask about my mother first?"

Qianfang firmly asked and Jianguo has no choice but to nod. He knows how concerned Qianfang is about the condition of his mom. He even went here, away from her just to follow Jianguo who will pay for all his mother's expenses at the hospital.

"How is she doing before you went here?"

"She always calls your name but her health is actually improving. The doctor said that there is nothing to worry about for now."

"I know you are not here just to give me some updates about her. I want to tell you that I already met the lady."

"How is she doing?"

"I only talked to her once and she wasn't fine. That night, her hands were bleeding and she's walking alone in the rain. She seems so reticent about herself."

"Reticent? I guess nothing has changed ever since."

"What do you want me to do now Sir?"

"It would be improper for you to visit a married woman especially that her husband gets jealous out of nowhere. Try to make something that'll impress her. Getting her trust may be hard but that should be established first."

"Every night, she comes out of her house to dispose their garbage. I think that would be the right time for me to talk to her."

Jianguo felt sad about that report. He also have some memories with the girl they are talking about. He knows how Meixiu is taking all things on her own and just manages to follow other's orders. But for her to go out at night to throw their garbage outside the village, how low does Chaoxiang see her?

"I remember Meixiu is actually one of the top students in our school and is even better than her sister. Now what is this?" he is so disappointed of what he found out.

Qianfang looked straight to him and the saw the regret in his eyes. He is pretty much aware of what went wrong with Jianguo and Meixiu's relationship. When avarice starts to overtake someone's heart, everything will fall apart. What's with the idea of wanting to have all the money in the world when you know you'll lose everything beside you? People oath to choose love no matter what but always end up compromising the little wildfire in their hearts for money.

"She might be having a hard time right now. Maybe she's still adjusting with her new life.", Jianguo continued and Qianfang is waiting for his next instruction.

"Keep her close to you and make her feel she's safe. I think it'll be amusing if a random person is nice to her since everyone's messing up with her."

"Yes Sir."

"Your mom will be safe."

Jianguo knows how to soften someone's face and make them accomplish the job. Everyone's thinking of their own benefits nowadays. Who would voluntarily work for you without expecting something in return? And for Qianfang, his mother's condition is always above his head that if it's for her, he'll get determined to accomplish something.

"I'll be stepping out."

"Take care Sir."

Qianfang lowered his head until Jianguo finally made his way out of the cafe. He is sad about Jianguo feeling so desperate to get such woman who serves her husband as if she is his maid. "What is special with that woman that he called off a wedding for it?", Qianfang thought to himself.
