“Are you going to carry on with your story?” Lissa asked when they both were in Jace's car. Lissa had to admit to herself, that if the cancer wasn't going to look her first, the suspicion of his dad's story might.
“Which one?” he asked, completely forgetting about the story he had told her the other day. Jace heard a click of the seatbelt and looked at Lissa.
“The one...about your dad.” she spoke, but whispered the last part.
Jace fastened his seatbelt as well and started the car. While they drove, Lissa noticed how Jace was gripping the steering wheel, his knuckles turning white from the strong hold on the wheel.
He's nervous. Lissa thought.
