"Elliot?" I asked, "What's my brother doing here?"
Emily's eyes widened and she began stuttering out, "I.. I... I don't... I... I actually do... but... I just... I can't... I-"
"Mom." Jay cut her off with a knowing look, "Let me take this from here."
"I'' Her eyes became larger and she nodded furiously, "I'm leaving."
Once the door was closed, I raised an eyebrow at him. "That was rude."
He sighed, "It isn't."
I nodded, "It is. Besides, what was that all about?"
Without a second wasted, he answered me. "Nothing."
I glared at him, "Jay..."
He sighed and shook his head, "Right. Right."

"Let's go." He offered his hand to mine, making me shake my head no and walk straight to his door.
