Chapter 7 Poison Dragon and a Poisonous Town

Talia’s POV

I walked out of the dungeon only to see the guards missing and the town looked like it had some sort of miasma floating about it. Several people were laying on the ground either dead or passed out.

“What happened here?” I whispered.

“Oh no not good.” I hear a small voice behind me.

I turn around to see a small flaming fairy like entity behind me. “Who are you?” I asked.

“I’ll explain later but we have to go now, or it will find us.” She hissed. But just as I was about to tip toe away a loud roar stopped us. “Aaand its too late.” She slumped then shot back up. “RUN!” She screamed. I turned to run into the dungeon again. “Not that way it’ll just blow poison into the dungeon flooding the upper floors in poison. Well never make it far enough down before we get poisoned.” She panicked.

I quickly turned around and ran the other way. “Why is it even here?” I shouted.

“Well each dungeon has its own way of not being taken advantage of. Deaths dungeon just happens to be the one that kills any town nearby.” She said shyly.

“Of course, it does. I heard about the wandering dungeon. But I figured it was a rare dungeon.” I grumbled.

“Well it is true that war doesn’t like being around people, so he tends to move whenever a town pops up near his dungeon.” She said while I ran. “Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is death scythe, but you can call me scythe I am a spirit weapon made by death.” She introduced.

“IS NOW REALLY THE TIME FOR INTRODUCTIONS?” I shouted.

“Your right sorry oh and its getting closer by the way.” She said uninterested.

“Why do you sound uninterested!” I screamed. “We are literally about to die here, and you aren’t even worried.” I cried.

“Oh, you’ll be fine, probably.”

“Probably!” I screeched.

“Well there is never a certainty of anything.” She replied.

“Well can you help?” I shouted.

“Not while she is asleep. My powers are based on whether she is awake or not.” She surged in front of me.

“Great how am I going to get out of this.” I grumbled and looked back to see the dragon with its lower jaw split and chasing after me.

Its blood red scales were like a fire Drake, but it had black specks scattered through each scale. The lower jaw had fangs on the end leaking poison on the ground. Where ever the poison touched the ground, anything living withered away. My panic rose at seeing it so close and my body started moving less and less.

“Come on not now.” I cried before a familiar feeling grew from my back and I couldn’t move anymore.

Scythe’s POV

I was surprised when the girl suddenly grew wings and turned to stone still holding Eclipse. I flew up to her and taped on her stone cheek. I saw the quick blink but nothing else.

“So, you’re a weeping angle?” I asked not expecting an answer. “Well too bad you won’t see the action.” I said as black smoke like substance rose from Eclipse signaling her demons awakening. “I’ve always wanted to see her demon from.” I said exited.

The smoke started circling her body as she slowly lifted in the air. When the smoky substance finally encased her body, she started to grow to about half the size of the dragon Undead flames started erupting from her arms making look like she was wearing flaming armbands. Her eyes opened only showing red smoky eyes. Her hands turned into claws as 5 black drums appeared over her shoulders and head like the god of lightning. She let out a cry so loud that it blew the dragon back several feet. Before I knew it her claw was around me, I let out a squeak and instantly turned into my scythe from. I watched as she got into her stance. Then before the dragon or I could have noticed she was behind the dragon with its head at her feet connected to her by a black vapor cord that slowly consumed the head and body. She then screeched in triumph and then she started to disperse. First the flames on her arms went out when she noticed that she quickly let me go and rushed over to Talia then when she made it her body unraveled and her now normal body lands in Talia’s arms like she never left them.

I then looked away from Talia, so she could change back. After a few seconds I hear a shuffle and turn back around to see Talia crying while holding Eclipse. I then fly down to her.

“Why are you crying I told you that we were going to live.” I said in a disgusted tone.

“I know you did but still its not like you had any proof that we would.” She cried hugging Eclipse closer.

“Ok I under stand but if we don’t move we will die.” I sighed.

“What do you mean the dragons gone.” She said confused.

“Yes, but it chased us right into the new field dungeon that was created by Eclipse.” I replied gesturing to the skeletons and zombie beasts emerging from the ground.

“Yah… I don’t feel like fighting with Eclipse out of commission.” She said then quickly turned and ran.

Talia’s POV

I quickly escaped the field dungeon and ran towards the forest that I hope leads to the next town. But the annoying spirit had to but in.

“And your heading to the insect forest because?” The scythe asked while flying in front of me.

I glared at her. “Isn’t there a town through here?”

“I believe there is but I’m not certain. The only problem I have is how dangerous it is.” She said looking at the forest.

“You weren’t very concerned when we were running from the dragon.” I snapped.

“True but it’s a big forest no one knows what could be in there.” She said looking at the forest once again.

“Well its either that or the field dungeon.” I replied and kept running.

“Good point.” She said then continued flying ahead.

“Wait for me! I’m the one carrying Eclipse!” I shouted.

Then ran to the woods hoping I would find a safe place before nightfall.

3rd POV

Nearly 20 minutes ago the world tumbled at Eclipse’s Demon’s scream. Everyone looked around for the creature that could cause the world to tremble. The gods in their own dimension could even feel the scream from their thrones.

Death while sitting on his throne smiled knowing that he had helped one of the new gods that would replace the old ones.

“Just what powers will fall under your jurisdiction little one? I’m delighted to find out.” He said with an unseen smile.

Then his door busted open. “Death!” Shouted a man waring full body armor and carrying a sword almost as bid as he was. “Did you feel that tremor?” He asked Death.

“Calm down War. Its just an old species telling others that it is still here.” Death said to War.

“Wow how old is the species?” Asked an almost scrawny looking man who wore only pants and a scarf.

“Well their life was short, and they are nearly extinct because the god that created them didn’t want them to go against him.” Replied Death.

Several people started poring in all asking similar question, but death held off waiting for the 11 to finally arrive so he could answer all of their questions at once. After several minutes 10 people arrived.

“Where is Gluttony?” Asked death.

“Oh well he said he was getting a message from his new species, so he had to attend to it. He said he’ll be back.” Replied a woman with wings and a hart shaped tail waring a business suit.

“Thank you Lust. Then I will answer your questions, but I will leave it to you to catch him up when he arrives.” Replied Death.

“So, what was that tremor that came from your new field dungeon?” Asked a man that was wearing lots of gold rings and was also waring a business suit.

“That tremor was a scream from a demon type human called a Dreammona. They do not fall under any category but were originally created by the first God of war to be his solders or guards. But while he was creating them two other species were made at the same time their magic mingled with the creature he was creating, and it formed a hybrid between the three species. The species that were mixed were Berserk Demon, Greater Doppelganger and Dracon. Due to this mix they no longer became the solders he wished for but instead a new species that could not be controlled. They then called them selves Dreammona. They are very attached to soulmates and can’t stand to be away from them they will actively seek them out. This is also the only way they can reproduce. For some reason whenever they tried with anyone else they would never get pregnant.” Death then got interrupted.

“What do you mean? They’re all female?” Asked a man that looked like he was trying to show off.

“Not quite Pride they tend to not have a gender do to the Doppelganger genes they have.” Replied Death. “Now sometimes there is variants in their species. Like some can be more doppelganger or have a specific type of demon for their berserk form some that have more of the Dracon instincts have become man eaters in the most literal way.” Death finished.

“How strong are these Dreammona?” Asked War.

“When they are berserk they can easily be classed as WD or world destroyers.” Replied Death.

“What!? Then we must step in and kill it!” Most of them shouted.

“Relax the system made sure that the last one wouldn’t destroy the world. Besides we couldn’t stop them even if we wanted too.” Said death.

“How?” Asked war.

“We can’t beat them because they heal faster than anything we have ever seen even a fatal wound can heal within seconds. The only way to calm them down is to let their soulmate calm them down. Secondly when the system was deciding who to choose for the Dreammona it chose one that had the most soulmates.” Said death.

“Ok So how many soulmates are there?” Asked Lust.

“Well she has 11 and all of them are a different species but all of them are from her world.” Said death as he taped his hidden chin.

“Eleven that’s unheard of even the gods of love only have 5 at the most.” Several cried.

“I know it sounds outrageous, but I’ve seen her with my own eyes.” Death said trying to calm the frantic gods.

“So, the entire world won’t die when one dies but if there isn’t one nearby how much damage are we talking about?” Asked War.

“Well I don’t know. But based on the text I’ve read they will continue to go on a rampage until they find another soulmate or until their soulmate gets reborn.” Replied Death.

“Then how did they keep them in control until then?” Asked a man who looked like he never ate before.

“Usually Famine another one would force their trans formation by killing them selves and then they would fight it out until the one calmed down.” Replied Death.

“You said they kill themselves? Can you elaborate that?” Asked a man who was calm but radiated anger.

“Yes, Wrath their strongest form may be their demon, but it is also their weakest form because if they are injured they end up into a sort of coma like sleep for several years. But while human if a fatal injury is applied to the body wither you cut off their head or stab them through the harts the daemon will instantly take over and attack anything that attacked them. That being said there is only two periods in their life that they are vulnerable to true death. That is when they are born and a few days after they give birth.” Death explained.

“So, there is ways to kill them then let’s wait for then!” Shouted several gods.

“Impossible since she has stopped aging at five its impossible for her to bear a child. she will be the first true unkillable immortal.” Death exclaimed.

They then started to whisper among themselves. After a few seconds they got interrupted by the door slamming open and a man who was obviously running a short while ago was holding the doors open. He was a fat man but for some reason it suits him. The man wore semi snug fitting black cloths and was breathing heavily. His short brown hair was in a mess.

“I’ve. done it. I’ve. finally made. a new Skill. and it will be applied. to a worthy person. in a few short moments! Shouted the man between pants.

“Common Gluttony not your bugs again you know no one wants to control bugs so why bother creating those stupid variants meant specifically for battle.” Greed chastised.

“Just thinking of those bugs makes me shiver.” Said Lust with a shiver.

“Ignore them Gluttony so what new skill did you create?” Asked Death generally interested.

“Thank you, Death, as I was saying it’s called Insectomancy its and evolved form of Insect master and it requires the person to become one with a strong insect or be an insectoid themselves. From their they can use their magic to over power an insects mind then control them. The first one to receive this skill will be someone in the insect forest where my Detouring leaches have found a suitable host.” Said Gluttony in excitement. Everyone quickly looked at Gluttony in surprise. “What? Why are you looking at me?” Asked Gluttony confused.

“How old is the host?” Asked Pride.

“I think they said she was about five. Why?” Gluttony replied still confused.

“Hahahahahahahaha” Death laughed.

“What’s so funny?” Asked Gluttony.

“Were you not listening to the conversation!” Yelled War and Wrath.

“No, I just got here.” Replied Gluttony.

Everyone but Gluttony and Death fell face first into the ground. Witch caused Death to laughed harder and Gluttony to get even more confused.

After Death calmed down from his laughing fit and the others got up and explained to him what they talked about. Recognition finally crossed his mind.

“I wish I new that sooner but now it’s too late I lost contact with them 12 minutes ago.” Replied Gluttony in a depressed tone.

Its fine Gluttony their just unhappy that something so powerful is being produced and they have nothing to contribute to it.” Joked Death.

“Yah right I’m more worried about our lives I mean she could turn around and kill us.” Grumbled War.

“Relax War I’m just yanking your chain.” Said Death finally calmed down. “Now I don’t know about you guys, but this is an important part of her life and I wouldn’t want to miss it.” He said then waved his hand showing a screen big enough to fill one wall.

It showed Eclipse asleep on a sleeping bag as the others kept a tight watch. But when everyone was focused on the screen no one noticed a new man enter and a shadow quickly leave.

Back in the Insect forest everyone was on look out for any insect monsters except Eclipse who was still being updated. But neither of them knew that something was approaching from underground.

There were several bugs littering the ground bleeding 3 looked lit mantis with sharp mandibles others looked like flies with hard shells while several lard beetles with a sort of web between two horns were cut in half.

“No wonder no one comes through this forest.” Talia said as she stopped to catch her breath.

“Yah I did warn you though.” Replied Scythe as she floated over Talia’s head.

“And you didn’t help why?” Asked Talia glaring at the sprit weapon.

“Because I knew you could handle it besides you’re the one in need of a lesson I did warn you about the possibility of being attacked relentlessly when we entered the forest.” She scolded.

“Yah but I thought you would help at some point not just laze around while I have to defend Eclipse and myself.” Growled Talia.

“You know the bugs were only attacking you right?” Asked Scythe.

“Really! Why?” Questioned Talia.

“I don’t know, but I have a bad feeling about this.” Replied Scythe.

They stopped and listened to their surroundings to see if they can find the source of her unease. Though after a few minutes they didn’t hear anything from their surroundings. They then stopped lessoning and gave a sigh of relief not knowing that what they were supposed to be listening to had stopped digging just before they started listening and started again when they stopped. The creatures finally emerged from the ground underneath Eclipse’s hands and immediately dug into them. Turning around so its circular mouth was facing out of the palm it then fused itself to her body, so it could feed off small amounts of nutrients from her body. It then closed its mouth and used skin from her hand to hide itself inside her palm. The only thing giving it away is the new line on her hands.

Back in the realm of the gods.

“Their you have it. What’s done is done.” Said Death with a chuckle.

“Very interesting.” Said some one startling some of the gods.

Several gods turned around with their weapons out but slowly put them down.

“What are you doing here?” Growled War. “This is the realm of the gods not for mortal men.”

“Oh, I see even though I have gained the power of a god you still see me as mortal.” Said the figure in the black hoody that hid half of his face.

“What are you doing here keeper?” Asked Death.

“Oh, you know traveling around admiring the view. Checking for any sines of the apocalypse.” The figure said while looking around the room not bothering with the threatening gods. He then stopped in front of war. “Would you stop that!” He suddenly shouted surprising the other gods.

“Stop what I haven’t done anything.” Replied war with a smirk.

“Stop killing me its getting annoying.” He said as blood trickled down from his mouth.

“What do you mean? I haven’t done anything.” Said War with a chuckle.

“How many times are you going to try and kill me before you get it through your thick war addled brain of yours that you can’t truly kill me.” Growled the figure.

“Just as soon as you figure out that you don’t belong here.” Growled war as he got in the face of the figure.

“Enough! War stop killing our guest. Keeper please don’t provoke him anymore.” Death voice boomed through the halls.

They both stared at each other for another 20 seconds but then backed off with a huff.

“So why are you here keeper?” Asked Death.

“Just letting you know I’m visiting the world you’re currently watching over. It was kind of convenient that you were all here when I got here it made it easier for me. And you’re even discussing the very person I wanted to meet since the author wanted me to meet all of their creations.” He said while walking out the door waving. Once out of the room he slashed his hand and a tear appeared at the location where he slashed his hand at The tear opened wider then he stepped through and the tear closed behind him.

“Are we going to trust that man?” Asked War.

“Yes, he has visited several worlds already but has yet to interfere unless provoked.” Replied Death.

“What was he talking about an author? Is he crazy or is there really someone creating these worlds that is higher than us?” Asked Pride.

“I don’t know about that but what I do know is that he knows things that he shouldn’t even when I don’t know them.” Said Death.

“I see. But how is it you two know him?” Asked Lust.

“It’s a long story but we met him while he was still in his own world.” Replied Death looking at the screen still showing Eclipse. “Oh, it looks like its almost time for her to wake up. I almost forgot that our dimension is slower than theirs.” Death stated while pointing to the screen.

All the gods turned to watch her awaken from her forced sleep.
