No help for nothing.

“Why will he keep such a thing from you, when everybody knows?”

Myla shakes her head, trying to hide the fact that she knew nothing, but rather forgot.

“Sorry for being dumbfounded. I just didn't know you were talking about that.”

“Oh. I get it. So much to think about.”

Her buzzes and she looks at it. “I have to get this call. Will be right back.”

Myla nods, and she takes her leave.

“Are you going to believe that woman just coincidentally knew about the drugs, and seem to convey a matter your husband didn't tell you of?”

“What's up with you two? Firstly, it was Jessie, and now the woman I just met. Common...”

Brenhilda draws near her. “Myla, you don't see that's why this is so normal for you. Stop making the wrong choices, now that you're already peacefully trying to sort things out with Jamal,”

“I agree with her on this. The main objective of a woman is to trust her husband. And, you're not doing that. Talking of Jessie, you shouldn't be hanging out with people like her. Of course you can't see that the invitation she gave you was not ordinary. Y'all just met, remember? Co-stars, yes. But... she's different, and you know it. Now—Bianca, pffft.”

Myla shuts her eyes as if it'll stop the voices from echoing in her head.

“Myla, I encrypted all the things you told us in my mind. We haven't met for a long time since your return, but now that we got the chance, listen to us. Search everyone's intensions, descend to know who are true friends. Even if that's us, get us out of your life. Because, anyone you meet can betray you, but you know who won't? Jamal,”

Tiffy nods at Brenhilda's words, adding something to intensify the message.

“You need to be open to him, with everything that has happened so far. He will, together with you fight those trying to put your relationship down. Stop listening from outsiders, who claim to bring you awareness that will make you doubt each other. I think you should tell him everything you told us.”

Myla suddenly remembers what Patricia said.

‘Promise me.’

Patricia not an outsider, is she? Won't it be a bad thing for her to snitch? Besides, it's not as if she supports the young woman.

She can't just say false things about her brother. Meaning, her words could be true.

But then, she's not the one bringing up those ideas. But some man, Kon being the planner, whom she doesn't trust, nor knows.

Her eye searches for Patricia in the party, and sees the young woman busy with her phone as she walks out of the hall.

Myla brings her gaze to her friends. “Even if this person is his sister?”

Her friends looks at each other, then back at her.

“Meaning?” they say in unison.

Myla sighs. “I can't say anything else, now. Some other time. Excuse me, I have to—go.”

She walks away without giving them a chance to speak.

She strolls delightfully, when people see her parading the hall and smiles back at faces.

But when she's out of sight, she walks faster to meet up with Patricia.

Fortunately, she cuts at a corner of a corridor, seeing her sister-in-law talking with the man, Kon.

The same man she saw below the skyscraper some years ago, talking to Latif.

She pauses and draws back, peeking at them and eavesdropping to listen to their conversation. The man gives Patricia a device, after looking around to see if no one is prying.

“What's this?”

Myla overhears Patricia's voice. Kon response, but his voice can't be heard.

Suddenly, they start an argument.

“No, I can't do that! You told me you're going to give me proofs to approach him!”

The man covers her mouth. And says something, that Myla struggles to capture, but fails to do so.

“Well, my brother is way smarter. And, I think he knows about our meet up. Don't show up around us, again, like this. This will look suspicious. I'm supposed to be at the party.” Patricia grits her teeth.

“I know. Right now he's focused on something else. Just do this one thing. It's for your own good.”

Myla finally hears his voice. She takes out her phone and snaps the both of them in case something happens in the future.

“My own good! Listen, Kon. I don't support you in any way. I'm just doing this, because I want to know who my brother was, and what he's currently running on. If a third party be involved in this, he's surely going to kill you like you said he did to the people who worked for him.”

“What are you talking about? I'm just trying to assist you, because I care for my friend, Latif,”

“But, she's no longer with my brother. What exactly are you trying to prove? What are you planning, Kon? Use me against my brother?!”

He sighs, forking his hair with his fingers.

“The case is still on her for murdering Myla's friend. We haven't paid our way out of that. What were you thinking? That I'd help you over nothing. I have something to gain in this, so watch it!”

“She's Eliz's assassin. She deserves to be in jail for it!”

“And, your brother is the reason she did that to her—”

His words cut as Myla is drawn back by a figure behind her.

She brings her gaze to a confused Latif. “Myla? What are you doing here?”

Myla breaths in and out, then smiles. “Latif, well I came to make a call, when I saw some people arguing out here. What about you?”

Latif struggles to look at the individuals Myla is talking about and she stumbles over Patricia.

“Excuse me—” she swallows her words when she sees Patricia's face.

Patricia, angrily walks pass her, but stops after seeing Myla.

She says nothing as she looks between the two women, then continues her away inside the building.

Myla sighs heavily. She's thankful that Latif didn't see those two together, a while ago.

“I need to return to the party.”

Myla leaves Latif dumbfounded, and Latif peeks again if there's someone else around.

Myla goes after Patricia, and holds her arm.

“I saw you with that man. What was he doing here?”

Patricia sighs, pulling strands of her hair behind her hear.

“He—”

“Myla?”

Myla diverts her gaze to Jamal, who comes to a stop where they are.

“I've been searching for you. Is everything ok?”

He looks worried even as she nods with all asssurance.

He looks at his sister who's head is down, then at his wife he offers an extra smile to cover up the awkward moment.

“I'd leave you two. I'm going to meet mom.”

She gives Myla one last look, before matching away. Jamal narrows his eyes at his wife who brings her gaze to him at once.

Latif cuts in and they turn their gazes to her, who freezes after seeing the couple.

She looks at both of them for a second, before walking away very quickly.

Jamal stares back at his wife, and her gaze is on Latif who is meeting with some people.

“Hope she didn't try to approach you.”

Myla looks at him. “No, she didn't.”

“I saw you with Patricia coming from this way, and Latif just came through the same part. Is everything really ok?”

He asks her straight forwardly. Myla gulps and he senses nervousness in her.

“Nevermind. We'd talk this at home–”

Amid approaches his boss, and whispers, “You need to check this out.”

Jamal nods and turns to Myla. “I'd be right back. Stay with mom, ok?”

She nods, and he walks away.

“What's it again?”

“Alexander's men are here.”

Jamal drops dead his tracks. “How the hell is that possible!”

“I'm sorry, I prevented this from happening. Someone invaded the team.”

Jamal clenches his jaws and turns his head to face a group of men in black and white suit making their entry in a grand style.

“We meet again, Jamal,” Josh says.

Jamal's eyes send imaginary arrows to him, but there's a slow smirk forming on his face.

Mrs. Mehdi, sees the men from a distance, after Myla stood next to her.

She becomes afraid, and the glass of wine falls from her grip, bringing unto her some awareness from the people.

She apologize, while a servant comes to clean it up. She tries to move towards her son, but Gabriella holds her back.

“Mom, don't.”

Mrs. Mehdi's eyes blur, and she covers it up by blinking them, effortlessly. She holds herself back, hackening to the young woman.

Myla just stands there, very confused as Patricia walks towards her mom, taking off Gabriella's arm from the old woman.

“Don't touch her, again.”

Gabriella stands out, feeling hurt by her words.

“Mom, let's go somewhere quiet.”

She takes her mom out of the hall, but Myla doesn't leave with them.

Gabriella gives Myla a faint smile, before walking away.

One thing is clear to Myla.

These men ain't ordinary people, because her Mother-in-law's reciprocation just now proved something suspicious.
