No Other Friends

I was inside with Samantha. She was unconscious and I was sitting beside her. It didn’t look like the best thing to be with her right now because maybe she doesn’t want me here but I was here anyway.

The nurse entered and checked everything once more.

“Hey, when will she wake up?” I asked her.

“Soon. She should wake up soon. Please stay here”

“Yeah yeah, I am not in a hurry”

She nodded and went out. I knew that I was quite wrong to be here but I need to know what happened.

After a few minutes, she opened her eyes. She looked at me and was shocked.

“Huh? Who are you?”

I couldn’t believe her. “Huh? Samantha, what are you--”

“Samantha? Is that me?”

I was completely blank at her words. Did her memories vanish?

“Samantha… are you kidding…?”

“Uh, I don’t even know who you are, why would I joke with you?”

I looked down. “Uh, okay…”

“Hm… now tell me, who are you?”

“I am Max, uh… your friend?”
