Confused
Adjective
Unable to think clearly, in other words bamboozled.
I've never been as nervous and confused as I am at this moment. I'm in my sleeping quarters. It's a 400 square room with glass walls, the room is visible to the outside room, which is about ten times bigger than the glass room I'm in. Sometimes the drones come up to check on me, or give me weird shots before I go to sleep. The floor is nothing but cold white wood, there's a flickering lamp on my desk, and my wooden chair is on life support, close to falling apart. I have a small twin sized bed, with one pillow and one blanket. The room has cameras two on each corner. My every move is always watched, those people keeping me captive in this prison watch me. I've never met them, I doubt I ever will.
Coward.
Adjective
Excessively afraid of danger or pain
Those people are nothing but cowards. They use me as their pet project but don't even have the courage to face me, because they are so scared I might possess them with my demon that so happened to inhabit my body, not that I even asked it too.
I sighed, taking out a book from the desk. I turn to face the glass room next to me, they just built it today, when I was in class. Before, it was nothing but an empty space. It's the same glass room I have. White floors, see through, glass walls, white desk, wooden chair that looks brand new, a twin size bed, it's identical.
Apparently it's supposed to be for my new classmate.
I'm shocked I'll be able to see another being again, it's been about 3 years since I've last seen society, or a person, according to the drones, and I don't even remember a single thing about it.
All I know is that we live in a divided world, that our world is cruel and terrifying, it's filled with wars and deaths, and betrayals, it's all in the history books. My face is always inside a dictionary or a history book, anything that can tell me knowledge of the outside world.
I lost my memories when I was 10, I remember waking up in a hospital and meeting this robotic figure that was a drone. It healed me (because for some reason I was injured) and it explained that I have a strange disease, that there's something weird inside me. That the experiments, that the solitude, that the torture, are all to help me into becomeing a better and healther person.
Even as a 10 year old who could barely remember their name knew that it was all bullshit.
It was 8:50pm, lights will go out in 10 minutes. I'm now at my desk reading the same history picture book for the one billionth time. There used to be a planet called earth, that was where human civilization lived, where humanity started, until the humans that lived on the planet abused the earth terribly. They created machines that put toxic air in the atmosphere. Melted glaciers of ice that flooded cities and drowned innocent people. They destroyed mother nature and caused the planets to wither. It doesn't take a genius to realize that all the pain they caused the poor earth would result in global warming and toxic radiation that killed fifty percent of the globe. Only the 3 continents, Europe, Africa, and Asia, survived the horrific disaster.
Luckily during the year 2111 on earth, they had already found a way to live on another planet, and that was TioLo. It was a drug that allowed you to breathe in space and live in another planet's atmosphere without freezing to death or getting burned alive. It was also convenient since they were able to find life on Mars, and we're already building a civilization there. If the radiation were at least a month late, the human race would've been able to evacuate and millions of lives wouldn't have been lost.
I felt bad for the other 4 continents, I wonder if the humans all died with regret.
Centuries after humans created a civilization on Mars called Slupton which was back then a small city, two twin adventurers that were wandering around Mars mountain forests came across a creature. They were shaped just like a human figure but they had horns on their head, as well as pointed ears. The creature was from a tribe called Waterfall, the tribe was located right under a vast waterfall that was as tall as the mountain it was on.
The two adventurers met the tribe members, women, men, children, babies, all with horns of different shapes and sizes, and all with pointed ears. They didn't even speak a native language, they all spoke fluent English. What was weirder was that these aliens had special gifts that could control the earth and other various elements. They had the power to create villages, lakes, plains, wildlife, just with their mind. The adventures saw the tribe leader create a small cottage using his mind with rocks, leaves, and mud. The adventures were amazed. They both convinced the tribe leader that if they can use the tribe's powers to create a much bigger civilization, then humans and horns could live peacefully in this new civilization. The horns who were pacifists didn't want bad blood between the humans and just wanted both species to love in peace.
So they agreed.
A decade after the humans and horned created a contract, they used the humans technology and the horned ability to create a government, and technological society for our future generation. Tall neon skyscrapers, vast waterfalls, dams, lakes, oceans, train stations, hospitals, housing buildings, schools, colleges, and much more. The government didn't want to make the same mistake on earth and led everything to mother nature and the horned powers, instead of chemicals, factories, and machines. The world was at its peace era, both species lived in absolute harmony.
But you know what they say, history repeats itself.
The humans turned their back on the horns, they used their rifles, guns, rockets, and technology to outpower them. They didn't want to share their city and resources with people that could destroy them at any minute, and they murdered the horned tribe leader who was already on his deathbed.
And thus it resulted in war.
The killing of innocent humans and horns.
The war lasted 10 decades, 100 years, a whole century.
The government was starting to get tired of the people being killed in this unnecessary fight their ancestors created, and ended the war with a peace treaty allowing all horns to live on Slupton and among humans. But even after the war was over, the horns were fighting their own battle. They lost ninety five percent of their tribe, their entire race almost went extinct because of the war that killed millions of their people. All of this happened centuries ago, so by now the horned race is probably extinct.
And yeah...there you have it...the history and making of our planet, Mars.
I never understand why I have to learn about stuff that already happened, but then again I must admit that it's all quite fascinating.
War, politics, establishment, betrayal, I wonder if I'll ever experience these types of things in my lifetime.
I look at the time. It's approximately 8:58. I was reading this picture book for way too long. Tomorrow I'm going to meet my new classmate. I wonder if it's a girl or a boy. I wonder what they look like. If I'm older, or if they're older. If they have the same strange disease I do.
This is a hospital, a place people like me are sent too, I wonder if they're insane.
I drift off and lose focus, sleeping on my desk, thinking about all the things my classmate might be.
Crazy, smart, dumb, quiet, timid, weird, ugly, pretty, and on and on.
And before I knew it, I hear a switch, and the lights turn off, and everything goes black.
