Chapter 10 Lion’s Roar

Suddenly the ground around him began to shudder and shake. Items began flying off the shelves onto the floor.

" An earthquake! " ( Bojing )

Chuckling to himself Numen knew exactly what was happening.

" Not really, actually speaking of the devil that is one now. " ( Numen )

Reaching for his remote he switches the tv on to find an emergency report.

" Please stay calm, a new dungeon is surfacing in Shanghai. I repeat there is nothing to worry about. " ( New Reporter )

" I guess there is no time to rest, it is time to check it out. " ( Bojing )

Reaching the surrounding perimeter, the large monument of stone was a sight to see towering above the common buildings slowly falling apart. It was as if it fit this area perfectly. The panicked onlookers scrambling away from their cars and belongings away from the new eminent danger. Before having even the slightest chance to breathe a ding sounds from Numen, ringing throughout his head.

" Caution…were under attack! " ( Numen )

From beside him a sword came crashing down aimed for his head, only to be caught by one of his hands.

" Trespasser, state your business or be cut down where you stand. " ( Player )

Standing there Bojing had a good idea of the situation, in fact he expected as much. Of course, they would be here. Releasing his sword, the swordsman jumped back resuming his stance.

" So, which guild are you from. " ( Bojing )

Like in a game, in this reality their also exists guilds. Formed after the old governments fell their purpose is to regulate players, do requests and fight in raids. Although Bojing asked which guild he already knew. Each guild has their own tailored uniforms and marks to distinguish them form each other, and the mark of a lion's head he was seeing was what he thought. One of the 10 great guilds of China, Lion's Roar.

" Lion's Roar, in which you're currently trespassing on the guilds territory. Now I will not ask again. State your purpose for your transgressions. " ( Players )

Lion's Roar, one of the 10 great guilds of China was well known for its terroristic behaviour only described as that of a lion. They say they are built on ride however they are more like a group of hoarders, although some are genuinely pursuing the missed pride. He knew that even if he tried to leave, he would get struck down, which left him with only one choice.

Doubling down Bojing re affirmed his stance.

" Oh really, and who decided that. ( Bojing )

Clenching his teeth the player swayed his sword down by his side, his stance that of a proud knight pulled straight from a video game script. Proudly he announced his name.

" On the honour of a lion, let thee be known to all. I am Donghai Delun, one of the three great Generals of Lion's Roar. You have spoken your peace now be vanquished where you stand! " ( Donghai )

Lunging forward his longsword sharply thrusted towards Bojing, however this was to no avail.

" Is that seriously all you've got. " ( Bojing )

Swatting the blade away with one of his hands he begins to proceed forward towards the entrance as if nothing happened.

" What! Hey. Get back here! " ( Donghai )

Another swing and yet another parry.

" Halt! " ( Donghai )

At this point all the constant shouting began drawing a larger crowed who all b4gan to converge at their locations.

" Hey, isn't that Donghai. How is he having so much trouble? " ( Player )

" I know right, that's wild! " ( Player )

With each new remark Donghai began to fill with more and more rage until finally he broke.

" That does it! " ( Donghai )

Lifting his sword up into the air it began to glow with a golden hue, filling with an immense concentration of energy.

" Let's see if you're still standing after this! " ( Donghai )

Raining down Donghai's sword crashed down towards his head, his will ensuring his victory, that is until Bojing caught it with his hand again.

*Cling

" Geez, you just won't back off will you. I guess you leave me no choice. " ( Bojing )

*Snap

* Shatter

In that instant the force from Bojing's hand split his sword into pieces finally prompting him to stop.

" My… My sword! " ( Donghai )

" Yeah, my bad. Although you should have stopped while you were ahead. " ( Bojing )

The crowd surrounding them grew restless at Donhai's sword's demise. Slowly drawing their blades one by one they began rushing in to attack.

*Shatter

*Shatter

*Shatter

*Shatter

*Shatter

Each new attack only brough more wreckage. Tiny splinters of metal slowly but surely began lining the path to the entrance, until finally he had made it. Taking his first step up the staircase a sudden sense of danger washed over him.

" Dodge! " ( Numen )

Taking a lunge backward Bojing narrowly missed the onslaught of arrows. At their helm a strong looking female knight aimed down the sight of her bow.

" Do not take another step! " ( ??? )

Ignoring her warning Bojing proceeds to place his foot on the first step.

*Fwoosh

The arrow grazing his skin leaving a cut that quickly heals. To his shock the attack harmed him.

" That was a warning shot, do not try that again! " ( ??? )

Looking around at the confused troops this filled he with rage.

" How dare you make a mockery of us, Lion's Roar! " ( ??? )

In this moment Bojing was perplexed for thought. He could easily take them all on with his power, however he wasn't sure that was such a good idea. I mean the weakest player suddenly becoming much more than that and is even able to take on more prominent players. He wasn't sure if he should let them know. On top of that it would most certainly draw Gaia's attention which would jeopardise everything that he still needed to do. Lost in deep though he remained frozen unable to move.

" ( Bojing… What is wrong? ) " ( Numen )

" ( I cannot let them see my full potential; it would ruin everything. But if I do not use it I may never be able to save them again. What should I do? ) " ( Bojing )

Taking a moment to ponder Numen could only think of one thing

" ( You don't need to use your powers to win, just be you. ) ( Numen )

Clenching his fists Bojing knew exactly what Numen meant. He couldn't let them know his powers but it isn't like he will die if he does take damage. Taking another step forward Bojing begins to dash up the stairs, in which the female knight begins to unload he arrows town onto him. With each penetration of an arrow came excruciating pain but this was the only way.

Reaching touch distance Bojing knew what he had to do. Pulling her sword seemingly out from thin air she thrusted it forward.

*Splurt

The blood from his innards gushed down the slopy pavement stairs, however this did not stop him. Gripping close to her body he rammed her back into the large stone doors, activating the runes that began to teleport them. In an instant they were inside. Quickly her troops began trying the door but it was alas to no avail. There was an unwritten rule in dungeons, that the door could only be opened from the inside to head outside only. It is only a two-way trip.

Staggering over to him she grabbed the hilt of her blade.

" You… What have you done! " ( ??? )

The slight smile appearing across his face made everything clear.

" Isn't that simple, I wanted in, and you were in my way! " ( Bojing )

Sitting up Bojing began to slowly remove the sword now slotted in the gapping hole, replacing the wound with shields that healed his wounds.

" What in the hell… that is not possible! How did you do that? " ( ??? )

" It is simple… I got stronger. " ( Bojing )

Beginning to walk deeper into the dungeon the girl called out to him.

" Where do you think your going! " ( ??? )

" Isn't that obvious, I'm headed for the boss room. You can stay there until I get back if you want, I don't mind. " ( Bojing )

Opening his menu Bojing had only just realised his equipment wasn't equipped.

" Numen… What happened to my gear? " ( Bojing )

The sound of laughter once again filled his head.

" You finally noticed. I hid it while you were passed out, so the other players didn't find out. You should be thanking me. " ( Numen )

" Yeah yeah, thank you for the save. " ( Bojing )

The hastened sound of footprints began chasing him down as the bright light filled the cavern, showing his armour.

" Hey, don't go off on your own, it is dangerous. " ( ??? )

" Sure, it is. Watch closely. " ( Bojing )

Up ahead monsters began to charge right at them, only to be thwarted by the new conjured shield Bojing created.

" See, no big threat. Now come here before you get attacked. " ( Bojing )

Sheathing her sword, she began to walk beside Bojing.

" Aren't you worried I will stab you again. " ( ??? )

Bojing could no longer contain his laughter as he burst out.

" Hahahahaha, no. Especially not in this form. However, I will admit your strong. " ( Bojing )

After about 20 minutes of walking through the uneventful corridors they had finally reached it, the boss room. Opening the door and stepping inside the pedestals began lighting up one by one until eventually illuminating the throne. In that moment Bojing felt his heart skip a beat. He couldn't stop staring. Upon the throne the figure smirked a most malicious grin.

" Hehehe, tell me… do you want candle! " ( Yang )

" Yang! " ( Bojing )

" Yang? " ( ??? )
