Chapter 12 Take Them Back

" So, what will you do now? " ( Ju Fen )

" Now I will find the rest of my friends Gaia misplaced. " ( Bojing )

" Gaia! " ( Ju Fen )

Looking into her eyes a deep-seated hatred spawned from within.

" Yeah… she took my friends away from me all because I was a duality player!

*Tch

Her fists were clambered shut by her side until she shot them outward and let out her declaration.

" Let me join you! " ( Ju Fen )

" Huh? " ( Bojing )

Standing tall and proud the glistening in her eyes burned forth with a searing passion. Just hearing that name riled her up so much, that much was clear. Thinking to himself Bojing pondered as to why she would join his cause. What could she get out of it, and why was she suddenly so supportive? Was it because she also has duality?

" I will say again, let me join you! " ( Ju Fen )

Her unrelenting resolve bursting forth, even effecting her aura. It was clear in both sight and feeling that she was earnest. Something was compelling her to join him, and Bojing had a bad feeling about what it could be, I mean with Gaia at its centre it must be something terrible.

" Why do you wish to join me? What do you get out of it? " ( Bojing )

Perking up on her heels her answer shot forth in eager anticipation accompanied by a strong sense of sadness.

" For only one reason… Gaia took my friends from me as well, and I wish for nothing more to get them back! " ( Ju Fen )

Her grip began tightening on the hilt of her sword. Bojing could tell this conversation was filling her with immense pain and suffering. Pondering for but a second Bojing had already met his decision in which his steel will would not fade. Heading for the exit he had only one thing to say.

" Standing around here talking isn't going to find them, let's leave this place! " ( Bojing )

Gesturing his hand, he called for her to join them. Fusing Yang's energy into his body she assimilated into him, reconnecting their duality, at which time he heard a small voice resonating throughout his mind.

" I knew you would come for me… and daddy… isn't here yet! " ( Yang )

Bojing could hear the sadness welling up in her voice.

" Don't you worry… I swear I will save him. I will save them all. " ( Bojing )

Continuing on his way he felt a metaphysical smile appear on Yang's formless face, in fact he could envision it clearly.

Although they had only known each other for a brief amount of time to them it felt like that had known each other for Eons. For this he was glad. Walking closer behind him the lifted and unfazed determined spirit of Ju Fen's presence could be felt over Bojing's shoulder. This mad him wonder:

" ( Since when could I sense people's auras? ) " ( Bojing )

Of course, never missing a beat Numen was quick to retort.

" ( It is obvious… as a duality user you can sense the presence of monsters. ) " ( Numen )

" ( So that is why Ju Fen said she hasn't met many but knows of their existence. ) " ( Bojing )

Looking back, he could see her proud shown face highlighting her strong sense of just. It was what he imagined most knights would be back before he also became an adventurer. Reaching the door both Bojing and Ju Fen placed their hands upon the cold stone, activating the rune mechanisms to teleport out. After the bright flash Bojing froze. See there was something very important he completely forgot about. Lying upon the bottom of the chiselled stone steps what looked like a sea of decked out knights all sporting the Lion's Roar crest were waiting seemingly for him.

" Halt! Do not even think about running away! " ( Players )

Bojing desperately began thinking of a way out, after all they surely weren't here to talk things out. At a moments chance they would all surely attack him. It is just the way society worked. However, he was sure he could tank them all with minimal damage, however his concerns weren't for him, but rather the new companion he had just been acquainted with.

See he was rather relaxed when it came to being an outcast, however he didn't know about Ju Fen. He didn't want them to also target her. Not only would she be aiding an enemy but also would suffer a far worse penalty for betraying her guild, a penalty resulting in… death. Thinking repeatedly Bojing pondered:

" ( What will I do? ) " ( Bojing )

It was in that slit second, he had made his choice. From the beginning there was only one path he saw. Wrapping his arms in his Yang Gauntlets Bojing restrained her.

" You idiot! What are you doing? " ( Ju Fen )

Whispering into her ear Bojing replied.

" I'm sorry… this is the only way for you to make it out of here alive. " ( Bojing )

This order of words shook her to her core. Someone was this worried about her.

…

" No one will ever love you… you're a monster. " ( ??? )

The young girl pleaded with her parents only to be discarded to the sidewalk, the knights' swords aimed directly at her neck. In this moment the young girl felt alone and scared. But from deep within she felt something stir. See her outer appearance although having monster features such as horns, claws and sharp teeth wasn't the only change in her. A light owes resonated from deep within her core, stopping the swords in their swing, and in a an instant as if by pure instinct all traces of their existence ceased to exist entirely.

In that moment she knew who she was. Her monster features subsided into her form, only awakened later when her duality was formed, on the day her friends were attacked by her vicious parents. One by one they were slaughtered by her parents, layers enhanced by Gaia when all she could do was sit and watch. Lastly it was her last friends turn, and on her last final breath the girl felt a strong connection as she pulled her friend into her body, making her a duality user. Gaia infuriated casted away the souls of her other dead friends, reviving them and spreading them out into dungeons. All the while a single sentence sprang forth from her ferocious lips.

" Try and find them… If you can, bwahahahaha. " ( Gaia )

In that moment the girl felt a strong sense of rage pent up in which she vowed:

" I will find them… and together we will make you pay! " ( Ju Fen )

She felt a singular tear roll down her cheek as she heard the exclamations resonate from the crowd.

" He has our general hostage! " ( Player )

" He will pay for his insolence! " ( Player )

Casting her aside Bojing weighed her down with a shield and rushed forward charging through the middle of the group, cleaving them away to his side with his claws. He didn't have to worry about hurting them… he couldn't even if he tried.

Reaching out Ju Fen tried to break free, but it was no use… she couldn't break out of it, it was too durable. Then she saw it, Bojing suddenly flying back and crashing into the steps below her, letting out a sound of pain.

*Arggghh

She tried calling out, reaching for him but she froze up. In the distant were two familiar faces she dreaded the sight of.

" You fool… how dare you break into our dungeon for starters and then proceed to humiliate our Guild! " ( ??? )

" You will surely pay for your insolence with your life! " ( ??? )

Standing before them both, were the two remaining generals of Lion's Roar, among them was Donghai Delun who had equipped his proper gear. Stepping forward both generals outreached their hands forward, combining their power together and forming a giant ball of energy.

" This is your final breathe, now perish! " ( Donghai Delun )

" Combination Skill: Extinction Ray! " ( Generals )

The energy burst forth from them heading straight for Bojing who was completely winded, and unable to move. Unable to use his monster powers freely in the eyes of the world Bojing was defenceless. Ju Fen could only sit there and watch.

" No… why must I watch another one die because of me. " ( Bojing )

Just as the beam reached Bojing a loud crack could be heard closely followed by:

*Swing

*Boom

Standing before him her beauty shone in the sunlight, her dark feathers spreading for all to see.

" No, never again… I won't let you take another one! " ( Ju Fen )

" M… Monster! " ( Donghai Delun )
