Chapter 20

“What do you think you are doing, Marissa?” Alex asked her in confusion. Actually, it was quite amusing to see her in this manner. She had been literally moving around this box in circles; sometimes clockwise and sometimes anti-clockwise. Then she would bend down and examine it as if trying to find some kind of antique gold in it. It looked pretty ridiculous.

“I am trying to understand how this stupid box works.” She grunted annoyingly. She was frustrated on another level.

“And trying to hit it with your foot and throwing angry words at it is going to help you?” He asked her with an eyebrow raised.

“Stop mocking me, Alex, and help me out. Why do they have to make things so complicated?” Marissa annoyingly rolled her eyes.

“It’s not that complicated and firstly I offered my help, you rejected it.” Alex came towards her to help her out.

“Well, this music system is more complicated than the previous one, and you challenged me that I won’t be able to figure this system out.”

“Marissa, if you would have just asked me to help you instead of doing it yourself, then the previous system would be still working perfectly and you lost

the challenge.”

“So, you are blaming me that it got damaged beyond repairs? And I am going to ignore the part where just told me that I lost the challenge.” She glared at

him.

“Well, you were the one who was banging it to make it work, and you lost the challenge; you could have just read the user manual.” But his statement

made her stare at him harder. She felt stupid about not thinking to read the manual and anyway; if Alex is there, then why she even put the effort into

reading something gibberish.

“Okay-okay. I am sorry.” He chuckled and shook his head sideways.

“You better be.” She again gave him a look, but instead of scary, it was cute.

Alex and Marissa have lots of arguments like any other couple, and fortunately, it doesn’t affect their relationship negatively. Both are mature adults, and

after how Alex treated Marissa previously, he is more careful now because somewhere down the line he still feels guilty about it. How much ever Marissa

tries to say otherwise; it is difficult to forget. And he is really lucky that Marissa doesn’t throw it back at his face about those incidents.

Marrying Marissa again was one of the best decisions he had ever made. You never know what you have lost unless you actually lost them. When Marissa

left him; he didn’t know her that well. In reality, he hardly knew her except for the occasional word exchange. But when she left him for good; that was

when reality struck hard. He realized the mistake that he had committed.

Whereas, Marissa was concerned; she was content with her life. She had everything she desired for. However, she didn’t regret leaving Alex when she

did, neither she regrets marrying him for the first time. Life has its ways to take a turn around, and she had one hell of a ride. Yes, she was initially

apprehensive when he started pursuing him, however with time it subsided and now she is happily married to him. He is way different now than he was

back then, but maybe it was because of the situation.

Nevertheless; she is happy with him now. Sure, they have their ups and downs, but which couple doesn’t, and it is just part of their life and learning

experience for both of them.

With each day, they were moving forward in their life and creating beautiful memories. Life is no less than a dance, it has its movements, twist, and turns.

And whereas relationships are concerned, it takes two to tango.

“I love you,” he said to her.

“I love you too,” she said to him with a big smile on her face.
