CH-4: The Parkers [1]

After Charles left, May and I had a conversation about mutants, like disapproving my worries, she was extremely calm about the fact I was one but not so much at Charles for sensing my presence and trying to read my mind, even though he wasn't able to and I was secretly celebrating for that.

Knowing that I have powers makes me want to learn more about them and I have to think about ways to use them efficiently but before all that I must get a grasp about this universe.

By the looks of it, I think the X-Men must be in their starting phase but I need to consider a whole lot of aspects before coming to that conclusion.

They all look like their comic counterparts with a hint of the movieverse ones and it really numbs my mind with an enormous amount of doubts and theories.

So many questions, so little answers.

Just as I was about to fall into another one of my trances while gazing at the broad night sky of New York through the window, an innocent childish voice brought me out of it.

"Eddy?"

A kid stood beside the door, leaning against the wall, he had unkempt messy brown hair, an unbelievably slim build and wore the largest pair of reading glasses I have ever seen in my life, all of it were his exclusive traits.

'Peter Parker.'

"Hey Pete." I waved at him with a smile.

The good thing about having Edward's memory is I don't feel weird interacting with people he knew.

Peter walked towards me and with a hop, sat up at the bed. He went quiet for a moment as he stared at my face in silence with his big round eyes like I'm a exotic creature.

"Darth Krayt." He suddenly said making me blink in confusion before I understood what he was doing.

'So that's how you wanna play.'

"Count Dooku." I replied with a grin.

"Darth Maul." He countered.

I couldn't help but chuckle, this was a game Edward and Peter used to play, it's like tap cards except with words and using characters from the Star Wars.

"Mace Windu." I smirked.

"Leia Organa." Peter grinned.

"Obi-Wan Kenobi."

"Darth Nihilus."

"Yoda."

"Anakin Skywalker."

"Luke Skywalker." I finished the match.

"Close." He muttered.

"Very close. it was. defeated. you are. accept you must." I said mimicking Yoda's zen tone.

We both sat in silence while staring at each other for a moment before his mouth perked up and a smile bloomed in his face followed by mine, we both broke into laughter and gave each other faces before it slowly died down into low chuckles.

"I missed you Ed." He said with a sad smile, I slowly kept my hand over his head and ruffled his mop like hair making him chuckle. "Hey stop it."

"Fine." I pulled my arm back and smiled as I saw him pout in a cute childish manner.

"So what's happening in school?" I asked changing the subject.

Edward went to an elementary school but only for the first couple of years, his father pulled him out after a while and Eddy was mostly homeschooled after that, which didn't work out for anybody.

"Ahh school? Nothing really interesting or notable." He replied before turning back towards the TV in the corner. "Hey you mind me watching some Power Rangers, Aunt May deactivated Jetix back home."

"Go ahead." I shrugged.

A few minutes went by as we watched the TV. I was not really into it but Pete seemed too involved. I think he was heavily interested in the megazords part rather than the show as a whole.

"Hey kids." A stern old voice broke our focus from the show and made us turn towards the door.

I looked at the tall man standing against the entrance with hands on his hip, he had brown hair with the short ends on the sides graying out and a reading glass matching Peter's.

"Hi Uncle Ben." I smiled.

He looked big and sturdy but according to Eddy's memory he was really compassionate and jovial, in simple terms he was the cool uncle.

"Hey Eddy." He smiled and took a seat in front. "How are you holding up?"

"I'm good." I nodded slowly.

"Hmm, that's good." He nodded back and turned towards Peter, who was busy fawning over all the separate megazords combining together to become the ultra megazord. Ok, maybe now I am a little interested in this.

"Pete, could you get your Aunt, she should be in the reception collecting Eddy's files." Ben said pointing at the door.

"Eh now?" Peter grumbled while his eyes darted between Uncle Ben and TV.

"Pete." Ben's voice was soft but I could clearly hear the edge to it.

"Ok." Peter nodded with a huff and walked out of the room.

Ben smiled as his eyes followed the lean figure of Peter moving towards the hallway, he slowly turned around and reached his hand out to my head, he gently cupped my shoulder and jerked me slightly, I looked at him in a bit of confusion and he gave an understandable nod before signing out loud.

The silent conversation between us conveyed a lot of things that the old Edward may not pick up but I sure did. I can see that he knew from now on I was his responsibility and he reassured that he would take care of me, even though he didn't say anything, neither did I.

"Ben?" Aunt May walked in, Ben released his hand and turned around, he gave a nod to May and she returned it back while Peter came in with a packet of Lays in his hands, seriously the blue one? Who likes the blue one? I always go for the green.

"Is everything done?" Ben asked.

May nodded at his words and flashed a file she was holding in her hands while Peter stepped forward and passed me the bag of chips, I picked the largest piece I could find and took a bite.

"Hey, I was saving that for the end." Peter gasped pointing at the chip I was holding.

"Well first come first serve." I replied and threw it in my mouth and crushed it with power so that he could hear its sound.

Have I become childish after transmigrating? Maybe.

"Hmph!" He snatched back the packet and moved away.

"Pete, don't be rude to Eddy." Ben said, massaging his temples.

"But he took the bigger piece." Pete revolted, showing them the packet.

"How about this?" May started. "You take all the crumbs in the end."

She tried to finish the fight but that was just one sided, the crumbs are the flavors, they are the most tempting part of the chips but I didn't bother to continue, I don't even like blue.

After half an hour, the adults had finished packing all my belongings I had in the room and we moved out. I couldn't help but sigh in relief.

Finally, after being in the same room for days, I was finally getting out of this stupid hospital, this would be the start of my journey in this cesspool of a world.
