Chapter 10

After my nap I got bored, so I went over to visit my mom.

Making the route back to my house felt weird.

When I arrived I felt like a stranger. I wasn't sure if I should knock on the door or just enter like I used to do.

My mother saw me through the window. A second later she opened the door.

"J-Jack?"

The fact that she had to hesitate to say my name because she could barely recognize me hurt.

"Yes mother."

"Y-You look so different now? When did you get so, big?"

I wasn't wearing my leather jacket, I just had on the teeshirt and pants and boots. And I left my weapons at home to not scare her.

"Oh, I just started eating more and training. So, how are things?"

"I-I really missed you… the house feels so empty without you."

"Oh, sorry to hear that. Is he home?"

"No, still at work."

I was relieved to hear that. Really didn't wanna meet that jerk.

"You wanna meet my girlfriend?"

"Whaat!"

Just then I remembered I also accidentally got a fiance as well.

And so we made our way back to my, or rather Luna's, apartment.

On the way there I bought my mom some expensive food and we sat and ate.

"Where'd you get all that money?"

"Oh, I became an adventurer I guess. Sorry mom."

She looked at me worried.

"Oh, I have something important to say: make sure you do nothing remotely 'evil' and if a devil, or whatever form it has, comes to you and offers you something you want in exchange for your soul, say no, no matter what."

"W-what? Devils? Oh no! Are you in trouble?"

"I mean, yes and no. Just make sure you do those two simple things, really, then they won't be able to touch you. I was thinking when I learn summoning magic or get richer I'll get you some body guards, not that you need them against the devils."

She looked at me in shock. I realized I shouldn't have been running my mouth like that.

"No my son! Please go to the town guards with this! You need help!"

"Oh… that wouldn't work. And if you tell anyone about this it'll just put me in danger. I'm dealing with enemies above the level of humans. I really shouldn't have told you all this. Damn. Doesn't matter it's fine as long as you don't do something stupid, okay? promise me?"

"Of course. Don't sell your soul and don't commit evil, you don't have to tell me, duh.""And don't tell anyone, since information leak will just put me in danger."

I heard a silent tongue click from somewhere. Probably voice and Piid annoyed by me again.

"Anyway, let's head to the apartment, Luna should be back."

We went back and I introduced Luna to my mother. They started having a girls' chat and raised the pitch and speed of their voice and I couldn't understand anything. I got bored.

Then I whispered, "Open, Piid."

Blink.

I was back in the white room.

Hey, ay, yay, refrain from leaking information, that was the tip of the day!

So you are back. [Swordfighting] [Useful Skill Creation (no pain)] [Exit]

Well, it was obvious which one I was going to pick. I wanted that new skill. I was excited at the prospect of just a quick easy skill.

I pressed the button.

Blink.

I was in the gym again. In front of me was the white training suit that I was terrified of and the white box which generated those potions.

1st step:

Put on the white suit

I was a little suspicious at the fact that the 2nd step wasn't shown, but since the description said no pain I just put it on.

2nd step:

Backstep: 0/10000

Rightsidestep: 0/5000

Leftsidestep: 0/5000

"Are you kidding me!"

And then my body started moving by itself.

2nd step:

Frontstep: 10000/10000

Backstep: 0/10000

Rightsidestep: 0/5000

Leftsidestep: 0/5000

It was weird, after I was about 90% done with frontstepping, it suddenly just got really easy to do it, the same feeling I got as when I invoked a spell. But no mana involved.

And the suit made my body do the motion perfectly each time.

2nd step:

Backstep: 10000/10000

Rightsidestep: 0/5000

Leftsidestep: 0/5000

And so it was time to start sidestepping. And god was I bored out of my mind. A few hours had already passed.

"Hey Piid, can't you play some damn music! I'm bored out of my mind!"

A text screen popped up.

Request received. Entertainment arriving.

In front of me, a small lady teleported. Her skin was very pale, she had short black hair, a really pretty face, a crown on her head, and on her back were bug wings, but the rest of her looked human and she was wearing a black summer dress. For some reason she felt really familiar.

"Hello my husband!"

She leaped over and hugged me.

"Ehm… who are you?"

"No way! Did you really forget all those nights we spent embracing and days fighting danger?"

"Piid, who is this?"

A text screen popped up.

The Queen of the Forest. You engaged in the marriage ritual dual for her hand, and became the king of the forest by defeating Tigersson.

"Wait, Queen Beetle?"

"Oh yes, you remember me my love!"

So now I accidentally had a wife, a fiance, and a girlfriend.

"So… I never knew you were this pretty. How's things at the forest?"

"Oh thank you! And things are great, I am managing your kingdom well, I promise!"

"Mhm… why didn't you talk or take this form back in the forest?"

"Ehm… you never asked me to?"

"Oh. Oki."

It was a little awkward. She was just in front of me looking up into my eyes and smiling. I padded her head to ease the tension and she closed her eyes and seemed to enjoy it.

"Oh, can you sing for me while I train?"

And so my body started moving by itself and I heard the Queen Bettle's wonderful singing.

"Hey, by the way, what's your name?" I asked her.

"Oh, just call me Quiblina."

2nd step:

In no time I got done with everything. Time flowed a lot faster with Quiblina there.

Congratulations, you have completed the training.

I refrained from blinking because I knew I'd teleport then.

"Oh, Quiblina, I'm gonna leave now. It was nice meeting you again."

"No! Don't leave my husband! When will I see you again, and can't you give me an heir now!"

And heir, huh? So she wanted to bang. I guess I was her husband in her eyes.

"Ehm… I'll come visit soon. In the meantime… Gather ressources and if you find any magical items or things I can use to get stronger gather them as well."

Blink.

I was back in the apartment. My mom and Luna were chatting away and smiling. When was I gonna tell my fiance and wife and girlfriend about each other?

Then I remembered there was something I wanted to check.

"Open, Piid."

"Show me my profile."

Well, that explained it. I pressed exit and went back.

"Honey, this is just an amazing girl you've found here!"

"Oh, thanks. I like her too."

This made Luna blush.

Suddenly I wanted to test something.

I got up and did the front step. Then I did the sidestep. Then I combined the two and did a front step and it worked.

"Huh…" it seemed that by combining those two skills I had essentially also the skill crosstep.

"Wow, soo cool!"

Luna looked at me al excited.

My mom stayed for dinner. When it was night we walked her home then got back.

"Say, if you become the god of this world, what would you do?"

"Weird question. Mhmm… I guess get rid of all suffering. Heal everyone. Make sure no one starves. World peace etc. What about you?"

"Eh, I dunno. Probably something like that. Would you believe me if I said that I signed a contract with a devil and if I don't get killed in the beginning, I'll become the most powerful being and the god of this world?"

"hahaha, okay. Sounds serious, huh?"

Luna grabbed my arm and hugged me against it.

"Yeah, sure is."

I considered telling her about Piid and even bringing her into the room, but I decided against it. Shouldn't piss off Piid and Voice more than I need to.
