Chapter 6 - Campus Drama (5)

Xie Nan's cry seemed to ignite something, and there were whispered sobs coming from the classroom, with some boys lying on their desks and hiding their faces in their arms.

Even though they say, "Go die, go die," every day, the fifteen and sixteen-year-olds have never faced death.

To them, death seemed like a joke.

The deaths on TV were distant, like another world.

In their reckless youth, the teenagers finally got a taste of regret.

In Yu Jin's suicide, some were the perpetrators, some fell victim to the violence, and some gloated, while the vast majority were bystanders.

Whether there was guilt or not was something that only they knew.

The class president organized the class and started cleaning.

"Xie Nan, you clean up Yu Jin's seat."

Without saying a word, Xie Nan got up and cleaned.

With the blood on the floor wiped up and the trash cleared out, the classroom returned to its normal state.

If the crowd hadn't been so dispirited, it would have seemed as if what had just happened had never happened.

At the hospital, Ah Jin looked at Yu Jin's angry mother.

"Mom, I'm fine. The doctors said it's just broken skin. It's nothing serious."

Mrs. Yu looked at her face, pale from blood loss.

In her heart, she wanted to drag her out of bed and beat her up.

She was told to relax and leave it all to her own devices.

She ended up committing suicide at school and was hospitalized.

She really believed her.

Ah Jin looked at Mrs. Yu and smiled pleasantly.

Mrs. Yu gave her a blank look and turned to go out to find the doctor.

She found the doctor to make sure Yu Jin was really fine, although the doctor couldn't understand the amount of blood, yet the wound wasn't deep.

But he didn't delve into it.

He just thought the kid was lucky.

He saw it all the time. A rebellious kid would do anything.

They'd jump, run away, slit their wrists.

It was luck that they were saved, but it was fate if they weren't.

The parents would suffer.

After Mrs. Yu left, the nurse on the other side gossiped.

"I don't know what's wrong with kids these days, a person just jumped off a building the other day and broke his leg, and today there's one who cut her wrist. I heard that the one who jumped off a building the other day could not think straight because of a fight with his parents. When I was young and disobedient, I was scolded, not to mention scolded, but beaten was a common occurrence. I don't see what's wrong with me, but now the kids can't be told or scolded. Eh, what's the reason for this today?"

The doctor looked around and shook his head, "I don't know. It seemed like it was because she was bullied at school."

The nurse wanted to ask more questions, but the doctor didn't want to talk about it.

The hospital was crowded now, so it was better to say less.

On the other side, the police were making statements in the ward, and all they could do was educate and regulate the conflict.

No trouble was trivial, and even if it was, there was nothing they could do about it.

They were all minors, and the law was also focused on education.

The law didn't specify how school bullying should be punished.

Sometimes it was used as a shield for underage crimes.

The officer who led the group looked serious and educated Ah Jin.

Human lives had to be cherished.

Ah Jin was only dealing with it in a few perfunctory sentences.

The officer didn't care much about Ah Jin's disinterested look.

It wasn't a particular case, after all.

After talking to Mrs. Yu again for a while, he left.

Ah Jin ate and drank spicy food every day in the hospital, and life was going on happily.

While in the hospital, the class monitor organized a visit.

There were also many apologies and concerns from classmates on Ah Jin's phone.

Because this incident caused quite a stir on the Internet, Ah Jin also accepted an interview with a reporter.

"Hello, student Yu Jin. I'm a reporter from XX. Can you describe in detail the bullying you were subjected to at school?"

Ah Jin described what happened in tears.

"I grew up in a single-parent home, and my mom worked a lot and didn't have time for me, so I lived at school a lot. I'm quite introverted and don't like to talk much. I didn't have any friends at school, and slowly, my classmates alienated me. I don't know why, but some of the students in my class started bullying me."

Saying that, she wiped her tears with a paper and breathed slowly.

She continued, "Every day, my desk was emptied of trash, and my books were somehow missing. It slowly got worse, and they started yelling at me, hitting me, and laughing at me."

"I was also afraid to go home and say that I didn't want to go back to school at all. I felt there was no point in living, so I carried a paper cutter with me every day, and I wanted to die with them, but I didn't dare. I couldn't take it anymore that day, so I chose to commit suicide."

At this point, Ah Jin was already gasping for breath from crying.

San Qi was in space watching her work her demons.

He couldn't help but sigh at the natural-born drama queen.
