He would lose face if the news about how he lost to an ordinary noble lady got spread to the society. There're some knights who didn't care about trivial things like that, but I felt like the loser before me was someone who very much valued one's face. After he heard my words, his face turned red and blue from extreme anger and he unsheathed his sword.
(T/N: 붉으락푸르락하 is a Korean phrase which literally means turn red and blue due to anger)
"I tried to treat you well, but you bitch got too cocky! You bring this upon youself!"
"Turns out you're just another bastard with a filthy mouth."
Why did he repeatedly call me bitch? I felt like losing to him because calling him as bastard wasn't enough. That guy who had unsheathed his sword, snarled and quickly charged forward with his sword pointed at me. As I had stepped back in advance, I immediately released my whip after I have bent my body a bit and kept my stance when he's coming at me. The whip captured his hand which was wielding the sword and tightly wrapped it as if being constricted by a snake. At the same time, I pulled my whip with all my might until his body stumbled forward. If he took the right stance, I would be the one who was getting pulled over to the opposite side unless I used my holy power to fight a man, but it's a different matter if he was the one who lost his balance in the first place.
Wham!
As I pulled the whip and stepped forward, I lifted my feet to land a kick at his hand which was entangled with my whip.
"Argghhh!"
His hand ,-which was tensed up because he was trying to resist from getting pulled over by my whip-, was getting injured in a more painful way than when it was set free that he dropped his sword while screaming in pain. This is really shameful.
When I kicked him, he should had tried to avoid it by lessening the force of getting pulled over, instead of stupidly stood on the spot! It would be better if he tried to duck and launched an attack to the enemy's foot, or he could had tried to dodge to the other side. Anyway, sometimes there're some idiots like him. A typical idiot who couldn't utilize the other parts of his body other than using his hands to wield the sword. Most knights used a sword as their main weapon due to its wide range of attack besides knuckle or dagger, but we never knew what could happened on the battlefield.
"Do you wish to continue?"
I released his hand from the whip entanglement while asking him. That Luth guy was holding onto his injured wrist and groaned in pain then he gave me a vicious glare as if he wanted to kill me.
"D-don't ever think that you can go unscathed after doing this!"
"Why? Are you going to whine at your dad and cry after being hit by a woman?"
"You cocky bitch!"
"Or perhaps if your mom is here, you'll complain to her while saying 'ouchie, that girl hit me, please punish her for me'. Something like that, huh?"
"I-I will kill you!!"
Blah, blah, blah that Luth guy kept yapping not stop. He spoke so well. I was contemplating whether if I should just killed him off by reasoning that it was an act self-defense because he threatened me first by saying he wanted to kill me, but in the end I didn't proceed with the plan because no matter how you looked at him, this bastard didn't even have the ability to harm me. That's why, I won't kill him for the time being. I picked up the rose bouquet that was laying on the ground and approached him. The bastard flinched and moved backwards.
"W-what–"
Smack!
I hit his cheek once with the bouquet and many red rose petals came off and fluttered to the ground. He was caught off guard and just blankly stared at me. This time I expressionlessly hit the other side of his face with the bouquet.
"Don't ever come back again while bringing flowers."
"I–"
Smack!
"Don't ever come with something inedible!"
Many rose petals scattered onto the ground. All the dazzling rose petals had fallen off and only a bunch of green stems remained. With all my might, I threw it at the bastard's stupid face.
"Bring some food instead, you bastard."
Having that kind of rotten personality, at the very least he should have brought a good gift to get a better treatment next time. After I threw away the remaining stems of the bouquet, I brushed the dust off from both of my hands, meanwhile he just blankly stood there then screamed again.
"This fucking bitch!!"
His voice was quite good. Well, If only his skill was half as good as his screaming abilty. He clumsily used his other fine hand to pick up his sword then he tried to attack me. I stared at him and slightly narrowed my eyes without having any intention to dodge his incoming attack. Well, I don't need to move anyway. Because…
Whack!
"Heukk!"
Calitus which was being thrown down from the second floor and still had its scabbard intact, precisely hit that guy's head. When Luth was seeing stars and staggering in shock, Captain Jullius jumped out from the second floor window. I could also heard Ortzen's nagging that followed afterwards.
"Don't throw Calitus away as you please!"
I also thought Captain Jullius went a bit overboard for throwing it. Calitus isn't just any ordinary sword. Captain Jullius grabbed the back of the staggering bastard Luth by his neck then threw him aside then he looked at me.
"Are you okay?"
"Can't be any better. If you don't quickly pick up your Calitus, Ortzen will be angry."
It's likely that by now Ortzen was going downstairs and coming this way as fast as possible. After I reminded him, Captain Jullius picked up Calitus from the ground right away. Not long after, Ortzen finally arrived and at the same time that bastard Luth who was laying on the ground, regained his consciousness and raised his body.
"What… huft… happened?"
Ortzen asked me while catching his breath. He had only run for a short distance and already gasping for air.
"You should exercise more. Besides, you could have just jumped down right from the second floor."
"My stamina is that of ordinary people. And it's not like I couldn't do it, but who could replace me to do my works if I ever got hurt? And for that very reason, of course I have to take care of myself."
Hmm he has a point there. Even so, it's just from the second floor. The ceiling height for each floor of all the headquarters' buildings was relatively higher compared to the usual height of any common buildings, so the total height of two floors here was equal to three floors of normal building, but it's not high enough for a grown up man to possibly getting hurt from jumping down from it though. He's indeed lacking of exercise. Meanwhile, that Luth guy held the back of his head and glared at Captain Jullius.
"You! I'll file an official complain for this accident!"
After hearing his shouted, Captain Jullius seemed to be a bit worried for a moment before finally said…
"My sword accidentally slipped out of my hands earlier."
That was a quite shameless excuse. Oh, Captain Jullius could also said something like that. Following that, Ortzen also helped him out and added,
"That aside, Sir Luth, you were threatening Miss Silla. Don't you think that Miss Silla is the one who should file a complain?"
"This woman first–"
That Luth guy couldn't say anything and kept opening and closing his mouth like a carp but no words came out of it. It looked like he didn't want to reveal the truth. He took great pride in his honor more than anything else. I immediately came closer and clung onto Captain Jullius and exclaimed,
"I was really surprised when that person suddenly wanted to attack me."
What? Why? What's wrong? It's only natural if that Luth guy gave me a strange look, but why did Captain Jullius and Ortzen also look at me like that? I was truly surprised! I was surprised because this bastard as the vice-captain of Special Task Squad is way too weak.
"… For now, let's assume that was the case."
"He also cursed at me."
And in addition he also, also… there's nothing more other than that. I should had let myself gotten hurt a bit. The Luth guy was very annoyed to death and glared at me while I was pretending to be the victim. If you felt that it was unfair, then you might as well try to whine for getting beaten by the bouquet.
"This woman is the one who started the fight! She also seduced me!"
I wonder if I ever did something that mislead him to think I was seducing him.
"I'm very curious as to how Miss Epheria seduced you."
Ortzen chimed in while giving me a sidelong glance.
"No matter if Miss Epheria had seduced or challenged you first, but the fact that Sir Luth was about to attack an unarmed Lady using the long sword is as clear as the day. Do you admit it?"
"Unarmed?! That woman–"
That bastard shut his mouth before he could finished his sentence. No wonder if he acted like that because there's nothing in my hands now. I had wrapped the whip as fast as possible to my arm and hid it under the dress large sleve.
"Erghh… are you kidding me!"
That damn Luth with a very distorted face looked at Captain Jullius and started to shout while pointing his finger at Captain Jullius.
"A monster with an unknown origin like you aren't worthy to get the Count title! You only know how to scheme behind the scenes without knowing your place!"
… what was he talking about all of a sudden? Both Captain Jullius and me were puzzled but only Ortzen himself understood it and he just shrugged his shoulders.
"There's nothing wrong with it and it's legal according to the law viewpoint."
"You have confined Miss Epheria here and even blocked any outsiders from coming here!"
After hearing that bastard's shout, Ortzen looked at me and asked.
"Miss Epheria, are you being detained here?"
"Not at all."
I wasn't allowed to go outside though. Ah, perhaps it was the same as being detained. But it's not like I couldn't go outside at all, I still could go outside if I wanted to.
Ortzen turned to look at Luth again.
"It is exactly as you've heard yourself. Miss Silla Epheria stays here on her own's will. In addition, the rules have stated that any unauthorized outsiders are prohibited to come to the Special Task Squad's headquarters. You're the vice-captain of this squad and yet you don't know about it?"
"I-it wasn't completely blocked like this in the past!"
"It has always been like this."
In response to Ortzen's shameless reply, that bastard Luth couldn't say anything back and just courageously said,
"Just wait and see! I wonder if that monster without any qualifications could bear the Count title."
