I blinked my eyes several times before realizing he was talking to me. Aslan scanned me up and down before he shook his head in exasperation. "How come you are always in a miserable state whenever I meet you?"

Aslan didn't know yet, but 'miserable' was my middle name. He'd better get used to it.

In reality, I put on a troubled smile. "You're right. Why I wonder?"

Aslan scoffed. He looked hesitant at first, but eventually asked me, "Are you okay?"

"Nothing. When did you come? You come home later than usual today." Alex said.

"I have some business to take care of. I just arrived when I saw Charlie sitting absentmindedly in the lounge. Then, she told me about the situation."
