The quarterfinal draws took place as planned, one day before the actual battles. Perhaps the Fei Li Battle Team had exhausted their luck during the preliminaries, for after the draw, a grim expression settled on their faces. They had ended up with the team they had feared the most: the Kalise Battle Team, the strongest contender outside of the seeded teams.
They suspected that the Kalise Battle Team received covert support from the Heavenly Demon Sect. While their sheer power might not match that of the Dan Dun Battle Team—especially with the restrictions on their secret techniques—they were still a formidable opponent, particularly with someone as strong as Little Witch on their roster!
In truth, there was an easy way out—reporting to the ZhongTian Empire that the Heavenly Demon Sect was backing the Kalise Empire. This would likely lead to their opponent's disqualification. However, taking that route would also incur the wrath of the Heavenly Demon Sect, potentially turning them into lifelong enemies.
Having already angered the Blood Red Hell, the Fei Li Empire couldn't afford to make another powerful enemy. Except for Zhou Weiqing, who hailed from the Heavenly Bow Empire, the rest of the Fei Li Battle Team had a deep love for their homeland and were unwilling to take such a risk.
"Weiqing, you should devise our strategy for tomorrow's fight," Lin TianAo urged.
After a few days of rest, Zhou Weiqing had nearly fully recovered, his health visibly improved. With the quarterfinals approaching, the entire team reconvened in Lin TianAo's room to discuss their strategy.
Zhou Weiqing lounged at the edge of the couch, wearing a dejected expression as he grumbled, "I have no plan; you guys go ahead without me!"
Seeing his sulky demeanor, the whole team burst into laughter.
Earlier that day, Zhou Weiqing had been overwhelmed by his friends and ultimately agreed to buy each of them a Zong Stage Consolidating Equipment Scroll Set when they arrived at Heavenly Jewel Island, which left him feeling quite distressed.
After all, each Zong Stage Consolidating Equipment Scroll Set was astronomically priced, with even the most basic ones costing around a million gold coins, while the higher-quality sets could range from five to six million gold coins! Some pieces could even exceed ten million gold coins each!
Lin TianAo chuckled heartily, saying, "Alright, Weiqing, stop sulking. Let's get down to strategizing."
Zhou Weiqing feigned a mournful look, protesting, "You all are being too harsh! That's tens of millions of gold coins! I could outfit an entire Company of ordinary Physical or Elemental Jewel Masters with Consolidated Equipment or Stored Skills for that kind of money!"
Another wave of laughter erupted from the team.
Little Four smirked and chimed in, "Come on, Weiqing, quit showing off. It's just the Kalise Empire! We've already defeated the Dan Dun Battle Team; why should we be afraid? We've come this far; we can't bow out now!"
Drunken Bao nodded in agreement. "Exactly, Weiqing. You've got to let me and Xiao Yan fight this time. We haven't had a chance to showcase our abilities since we got to ZhongTian City… so you can take it easy this fight! We're full of energy to unleash!"
Zhou Weiqing stopped pretending and grinned widely. "Too much pent-up energy? That's an easy fix! Just find two girls, and you're all set. But you better not drag me into it! Even if you do, I won't go—I'm unbelievably loyal and steadfast!"
Drunken Bao scoffed, "Loyal and steadfast? Don't insult those words! Who was it that was all over Shen Little Demon, looking completely inebriated and nearly sparking a brawl with the Dan Dun Battle Team? As far as I can see, if it's female, you won't pass up the chance. In your book, there are only two criteria for women: alive and female!"
At Drunken Bao's remark, Crow stepped forward, grinning. "In that case, Weiqing, our Gold Crow Tribe can certainly meet your needs. After the tournament, you can come back with me, how does that sound?"
Zhou Weiqing's expression shifted, and he quickly replied with a serious demeanor, "Time to get back to strategizing. Drunken Bao, I don't think you should fight this round; you're our hidden ace, and we'll save your strength for the semifinals. What about you, Crow?"
Crow nodded eagerly. "Of course, it's your choice to visit the Gold Crow Tribe; I wouldn't force you." She giggled and playfully patted Zhou Weiqing's shoulder. "Weiqing, I apologize."
Drunken Bao shot her a forlorn look.
As the team continued to jest and laugh, a sudden knock on the door interrupted them.
Startled, they all froze.
Lin TianAo gestured for silence and then opened the door.
Standing outside was Little Witch, dressed in a black gown. When she saw the team, she smiled shyly, her radiance captivating. "Hello, everyone."
Zhou Weiqing's eyes lit up as he remarked, "You really took your time. If you hadn't come today, the cooperation and offer would have fallen apart."
He turned to Lin TianAo and nodded, "Let her in."
Lin TianAo gestured for her to enter.
Wu Yuehan walked into the room confidently and took a seat next to Zhou Weiqing. She pointed to the cup in front of him and sweetly asked, "Is this your cup?"
Without thinking, Zhou Weiqing nodded. Ignoring the curious stares of the others, Wu Yuehan picked up his cup and took a sip, placing it back down afterward.
As the team watched her lick her red lips, Zhou Weiqing and the male members of the Fei Li Battle Team felt a sudden parchedness in their mouths.
This girl was just too alluring.
Zhou Weiqing grinned and said. "Heh… You should already know about the result of the drawing lots, and the two of our teams will be meeting in the quarterfinals. I know your Heavenly Demon Sect really wants to enter the Heavenly Jewel Island right, so what is your plan?"
Wu Yuehan twisted her mouth wryly, before bursting out in a fit of giggles. She said, "Yeah, you are right. Actually, my plan is pretty simple. I will let the Kalise Empire surrender, and let your team enter the top four without a fight?"
"And in return, you want to join the Fei Li Battle Team, and become a part of us all, right?" Zhou Weiqing raised his eyebrow and finished the conversation.
"Smart!" Wu Yuehan nodded her head in approval and giggled. "That way, I am guaranteed a spot in the top four, and in doing so, I will naturally be able to enter the Heavenly Jewel Island, and more importantly, gain a Heavenly Jewel Plaque as well."
