I can Feel Our Baby Kicking

As soon as he said so, he found himself awake. Ainsley then quickly recognized the interior of the luxury van and the image of Sinclair, who was popping cold ones while on his phone. The dragon looked in his direction as he saw Ainsley get up from the bed, slightly hiding the beer can he was holding as if Ainsley had not seen it yet.

The human then sat at the edge of the bed and reached out his hand. Sinclair frowned at it before handing the can he was holding. "That's the last one. I don't have anything else."

"How mean. I always save half for you." Ainsley received the can and grumbled. He then noticed that there was an entire case at Sinclair's feet, but all the cans were opened. His eyes didn't leave the case when he drank a gulp from the can. "Still haven't seen your brother?"

"No. We're still looking at what he left at the scene." Sinclair only hummed, getting tired of the hunt reports that showed no progress. He pocketed his phone and stared in Ainsley's direction. "I could locate him easily before, but now that my dragon heart is halved, what remained inside me is not powerful enough to sense him. Still, that didn't mean I wouldn't be able to find that jerk."

Ainsley was about to take another gulp, but he paused when he heard that bit. Unlike the vague memories, he could still remember the strange vision he had. He then took a gulp that seemed to be the last one from the can. "How about me? Can I use your heart to look for him?"

At those words, Sinclair wanted to snort and dismiss him. However, he stopped himself. He only stared at the friend. "That's unheard of among those who had dragon hearts shared with them. However, what you have inside you is the most powerful of its kind.

"I have no idea if you're capable of wielding any of its magic. Not to mention that you're human, but dragon magic doesn't really come readily available even to the most powerful druids of their time." Sinclair only watched Ainsley's narrowing eyes. "If you can locate Roth, that would be very good for me. I don't want to pressure you, though."

"Do you like that brother a lot? It sounds like you like him a lot." Ainsley brought the empty can down and felt that his tummy was asking for real food this time.

Sinclair reached out to check the streets outside and thought that they were already close to the restaurant. He then turned to Ainsley. "I don't like Roth a lot. However, I do prefer him over every other dragon within and without the clan… or any other. Yes, I will kill anyone who makes him suffer outside my view."

Those words were supposed to make Ainsley tease Sinclair, but the last bit sounded strange. "Sounds like you really like your brother. Anyway, should I just think of him and magically find him? Is that how you do it?"

"…yes. Our age difference is big, but our minds tend to connect at moments the other is in danger. He even felt it when I shared my heart with you." Sinclair narrowed his eyes, but he didn't mean to glare in Ainsley's direction. "I used to know when he gets in trouble."

"Sorry, Sinco," Ainsley murmured. It made both of them realize that Sinclair didn't know the real consequences of his action. It might seem that the dragon heart was useless, but he was actually very dependent on some of its capabilities. However, the action was irreversible, and Sinclair would still do so if he was given a chance to redo that event.

"No, it's not your fault." A chuckle came as Sinclair's answer. He then felt the van pull up. "We've reached our destination. Let's eat before they decided to close for the night."

Before Ainsley knew it, it kept on happening. More and more, he couldn't even sleep at the call of the visions. He didn't know what was happening, but he figured it was the dragon heart calling out to someone. If Sinclair could look for his brother in a heartbeat, then it was probably what it was doing. After all, this would mean that Roth was still alive, right?

Ainsley roused from his sleeping form after spending seconds trying to sleep. He had tossed and turned already, and he was yet to feel anything else but the heavy feeling of needing to come to one place. At the thought of it, he figured Roth was very hurt.

When he sat up, he then turned to the side where Sinclair was. Even if he heard that dragons like Sinclair were nocturnal, the CEO had learned to live in the same waking hours of humans that go to work in offices. That was why he was fast asleep right now. However, with his brows furrowed, Ainsley figured Sinclair was still appealing to what remained in him to find Roth.

"Sinco…" Ainsley reached out and patted on Sinclair's exposed abdomen. The hotel room was freezing cold, but this CEO was almost sleeping with nothing on. He was even letting the cold air kiss his skin at night.

"Sinco…" When his hand felt the smooth skin, he decided to caress it some more. Since the hotel room was facing the low skyline of the city, the moon was shining inside through the window whose curtains Sinclair didn't draw. The scales on his skin began to show again.

However, this time, Ainsley wasn't afraid of it. Perhaps it only scared him when he first encountered it. Right now, he was even trying to pry off one piece, so he could take a closer look. It's just that… it didn't seem to come off easily. After all, those were dragon scales.

Ainsley then moved to place his face against Sinclair's chest. He was trying to take a close look at the scale that he could feel. Whether it was going to hurt Sinclair or not, Ainsley didn't care. At most, it would be like someone plucking hair from the body. Or so he thought.

"Are you trying to kill me with your weight?" Sinclair's voice echoed from behind Ainsley's head, a hand pushing his head weakly off of the body.

"No, shh…" The human stopped trying to pick the scale and caressed the firm abdomen as if feeling the contours of his muscles. "I am trying to feel our baby kicking…"
