Their Only Weapons Now

From the driver's seat, Ainsley glanced at the rearview mirror. He just heard Queenie asked a hard question, to which any adult would be compelled to lie. However, the rascal only answered as if it was a very obvious thing to say. Sinclair was prone to lying, even to children?

"Really?! So, Sister Maggie is lying?" Queenie weakly gripped at the shoulder of the overlord. "She said that they wouldn't be there anymore when I come home."

"That is not a lie. She just forgot something important." At those words, Sinclair only chuckled. He then combed through the girl's hair. "Don't worry, when you come home, get plenty of rest. Then, when I come to see you, I'll take you to where they can feel your presence. Both of them had gone inside the mountain to become stronger. You'll meet them again soon."

Upon hearing those words, Queenie only nodded and closed her eyes to sleep. Her body seemed to be relaxing a lot.
