Cherish the Final Moments

The path to the core of the island was nothing that Roth or Ainsley expected. Both of them shuddered at the absence of their senses, particularly sound and sight. There was nothing there; they couldn't even feel the hardness of the ground underneath their feet.

However, Sinclair walked steadily. He was holding onto Ainsley's and Roth's hands along the way to the heart. The whole cavern was covered in darkness, but none of them were making any sound even if they tried to speak. Everything was being eaten by this void, but the only thing that kept him going was the Island Mother's promise.

They must remain walking forward, she said.

Soon enough, flashes of light began to appear around them. There was no sound in them, but all of them seemed to be vague memories. All the fears that they all held deep within their minds were being dug out, Roth particularly showing up more than any of them.
