Chapter 27: Theater March

In front of Alicia's sight was a glowing night parade.

It was spearheaded by a lighted train with a merry text "To the Neverland!" and giant-sized cartoon characters spinning like dolls trailing behind it.

There's loud music composed of snare drums, trumpets, cymbals, and violins with a fast and happy rhythm. But it's melodic and nostalgic at the same time.

In Alicia's eyes, she could see in the train's middle chamber, a familiar figure of a child.

'It's Eugene! It's definitely Eugene, my son!'

She ran quickly to the night parade and jumped in the middle chamber, yelling her son's name.

"Alicia! Don't!" She heard a distant scream. "What are you doing?! Get off the train!"

Alicia glanced over for a second and saw Haru's face brimming with worry and shock, but she immediately looked back.

She clung onto the middle chamber and clambered up to come in.

The train was a bit slow, but it rattled vigorously.

She held the tiny cheeks of the boy sitting in the middle chamber with her warm palms.

"Oh, how I've missed you! Eugene!" She cried and sobbed.

A few hours earlier…

Camille went to Haru's circus tent after he got treated.

"Oh, that's quite a well done sling," She smiled. "Are you okay now?"

"Yeah. Alicia mentioned she studied medicine for a bit, so that is where she probably learned it."

Camille sat on the bedside. "If you don't mind me asking, is there something wrong between you and Mr. Wang? It feels like he's being distant with you and you're doing that as well."

"Uh, that's…"

"Speaking of, I haven't seen Mr. Wang for a while."

"He's missing?"

"Yeah, I think so. But unlike Ali, that's not worrying. I'm sure Mr. Wang can handle himself."

"Then, where's Ali?"

They stared at each other for a while before realizing that he's not anywhere to be seen.

Haru immediately got up and went out of the circus tent.

Camille insisted that she look for him alone, but Haru didn't want to.

Soon, while caught up arguing, they heard tiny footsteps coming towards them and saw Ali.

He was carrying a heavy circular stone with teardrop carvings around it and a diamond shape in the middle.

"That's…!"

"The portal stone!"
