Chapter 49: The Night's Nightmare

Mr. Wang's life has been difficult.

He went through a lot of painstakingly hard things, especially with his studies. But none of those were particularly tragic and so, it didn't make him so miserable to the point he regretted living the way he did.

He toiled and worked hard to earn everything he had. One of the most challenging parts of his life was during his teenage years when his friends and peers were having the time of their lives while he silently endured the hardships of the eldest sibling in their family and aiming to be the best to impress a girl.

He was tempted plenty of times to just pause and rest, but those moments would give him time to think about quitting and other absurd things.

So he'd rather keep working hard, even if it's useless.

He didn't allow himself to think.

When they became adults, Mr. Wang asked for the girl's hand. It didn't take long for Chu Hua to answer with favour since she has been as smitten as he was with her.

They were happy despite nothing much to change.

They would still frequently spend time together doing the things they love and walking around, feeling lost at each other's hearts.

And soon, Chu Hua took the courage to open up the topic about introducing themselves to their parents. This was one of the most nerve-wracking moments that Mr. Wang had to go through, but he thought it'd be best to do it now. Mr. Wang first met Chu Hua's parents.

Her father was strict, but Mr. Wang was used to it as he has been much harder to himself.

The efforts he had done so far paid off and they were approved by her parents. It was an utter bliss for him.

Soon, Chu Hua was also introduced to his parents and they easily approved. His parents were, in fact, worried if he'd ever meet someone he truly loves or they'd have to find someone for him.

They were delighted with the girl's feminine and polished demure. She was truly beautiful like a pretty flower glowing among the daisies in a flower field.

Her beauty is entrancing that even his siblings liked her quickly.

With the approval of both their parents, they celebrated by eating good food and dancing in a room. It was a great day each passing time.

It wasn't long before they got married.

Both parties were satisfied and came to a peaceful relationship. Every day was a beautiful blessing that was given to them.

Wang Chen and Chu Hua soon went apart from their families and stayed in the house that they built with their efforts and money. Their careers were flourishing and so were their lives.

But it soon ended when an internal war broke out in their city and was involved in a crisis and terror.

There was a heavy invitation to able men to join the military back then. Mr. Wang didn't want to be part of it, but Chu Hua insisted that he ought to help.
