Chapter 61: Glitch

Out of all the worlds they've gone through so far, the one that greeted them as soon as they walked in the portal, had the grandest, flashiest, and prettiest interface.

The signboard at the very front gate read "Grand Blisscade World" in blue, red, and yellow neon lights. And the thick red carpet was laid out for their walkway as they are surrounded with flashing arcade machines, casino-themed embellishments, and grandiose spiral chandeliers hanging over the galaxy-colored sky.

There's no ceiling, but heavenwards was also surreal, which they reckon to be in between the description of a sky and a galaxy. It's just enigmatic.

"This is so fascinating!" Camille exclaimed. "The worlds just gets better and better! I feel like a wealthy VIP in a high-end exclusive place!"

Haru was mesmerized with their surroundings, Ali couldn't take his eyes off the galaxy sky and the chandeliers, and even Mr. Wang was breath-taken with the world.

It's like a mixture of arcade and casino upgraded with a more luxurious and ethereal interface.

At the end of the carpet, Haru noticed the complex structure of the machines, features, and items in the place, so he carefully observed the pathways that the other carpets lead. He called out to Camille and Mr. Wang suggested that they explore this place with much attention.

"I can't seem to sense an end to the place," Haru explained. "Not to mention, if you look at the distance, it's almost like a labyrinth."

"I'm sure this place has some contingency plan, pathway, or something, you know," Camille shrugged. "I mean, at this point, it's pretty clear that we're brought into these worlds as guests and not as victims."

"Camille's right," Mr. Wang seconded. "To be honest, the worlds has been so gentle and attentive to us that we don't have to worry about anything. We've been on edge this whole time because we were brought to an unfamiliar place, but my worries are completely gone."

"You're just overthinking this, Haru! It'll be fine! There'll be no danger, trust me!"

Haru tried to rationalize this. Maybe they're right, he thought.

They've been on the fourth world already, but everything was fine.

In fact, it's more than fine. It almost feels like it's giving them treatment, healing, enjoyment, and luxury.

He thought that maybe he's really just being paranoid until now.

"A-Alright, I'll trust you, then," He smiled. "I'm sure nothing's gonna go wrong. The worlds have been kind to us and we're catered quite gently."

Camille nodded in agreement. "Now let's just go and have fun!"

"H-Have fun? Wait… Shouldn't we go find the jewels first? And the stone portal too…" Haru hesitated, but Camille had already run off to the arcade machines and began playing.

Haru still couldn't shake that anxious feeling despite knowing best what the worlds are all about.
