How do humans survive without powers?

Not having magic sucks. This is something Sabrina found out when she tried to pack her other stuffs to bring over to Kavan's. She had to manually select and place the item into her bag. How tedious. How time consuming. She was beginning to understand how bad the humans had it without any powers. It must take them a lot of time to get things done. Such a lot of wasted energy too.

After two hours of fiddling with her things, she gave up. She will just bring whatever she had managed to put into the bag. Next, when she tried to summon Dashen's car and driver, she remembered she could no longer do that. Also, Dashen told her that she is not allowed to use his car anymore. The elders might notice her using it to go to Kavan's place.

Damn cb, she cursed inwardly, using an abbreviation of a local Hokkien swear word.

Lugging her bag with her, she walked out of the mansion and trudged along the road. She opened her e-hailing app and called for a driver. At the very least, she can still use e-hailing to travel.

When she got back to Kavan's place, no one was home. She didn't manage to grab her copy of his keys before she was sucked back to the sea jade palace. She knocked on the door a few more times. There was no sound inside. She looked at the time. It's almost 5 o'clock. She forgot. He has evening classes so obviously he went to his studio early. She looked at her large bag. She was quite reluctant to lug it with her but there was no choice. She can't leave it in front of the door.

She trudged all the way to the studio grumbling. The lack of a magic also meant that she couldn't even speed up. Instead, she is like a human having to rely on her human body's muscles. It was exhausting. Ugh. By the time she reached the studio, perspiration was dripping down her back, dampening her clothes, dripping down her face. She is literally melting. She heard voices in the studio and looked at her watch. It took her much longer to walk to the studio than expected. She quickly opened the door and went in.

The annoying sexy widow, Tiffany Chong, was tittering like a school girl with Kavan. He had kept a distance from her and listening intently. The widow kept moving closer while he kept taking a step back. She wanted to snap that damn widow in half. Snap! Snap! Snap her twig-thin arms and twig-thin legs!

She dropped her bag in a corner and sashayed over to them, trying to look all sexy except that the sweating dripping from her forehead and down her neck leaving a large wet patch on her top wasn't very sexy. Kavan turned and when he saw her, he stiffened and his expression changed. He looked furious.

Okay, so she expected him to be furious. After all, she did disappear for two whole weeks without a trace. If he disappeared for two weeks without a trace, she would be furious too. She placed her palms together in apology and mouthed the words "I am sorry". He merely glowered at her and then switched back to his smiling expression when he turned back to that annoying Tiffany.

Tiffany seemed to notice, she turned and stared at Sabrina who was standing just a few steps behind her. She gave Sabrina a once-over and sneered.

"Oh dear…did you fall into a drain or something, you are soaked through and you stink," the woman said.

It was all Sabrina could do not to reach out and snap the woman's neck. Not her twiggy arms or her twiggy legs. Her neck! She schooled her expression to one of neutrality. She has to control her temper and she can't scare off his client, no matter how annoying. Even if the woman obviously wants to get in Kavan's pants. Sabrina knows with all her heart that Kavan will be loyal so she was not worried about him falling for the charms of the horrible woman. She just doesn't like that woman hanging around Kavan.

"I had a brisk workout coming here, you know warm-up," she told the woman and then she walked over to Kavan.

"I'm sorry, I will explain later," she whispered to him.

Then she walked away to head to the washroom to at least freshen up a bit. By the time she came out, the class has started. Women of all ages and sizes are grunting and stretching in various suggestive poses. She sat on one of the chairs outside and looked at the students struggling to hold their poses. She is exhausted just from packing and lugging her bag here. She can't join them in stretching of pretty much in anything. The only pose she can do now is the Corpse pose. Sink into the floor and let your whole body relax. That would be blissful.

After the class is over and the last of the students had left, including the annoying Tiff, Kavan locked the door and whipped around. His eyes were shooting fire as he glowered at her.

"Do you have any idea how worried I was? You better have a good explanation!"

She told him time worked differently at the sea jade palace where she was summoned to. Then she explained her punishment and how Dashen is now helping them. He calmed down after her explanation and actually went to her and hugged her.

"I'm so sorry you had to go through that," he murmured, holding her against his chest.

"So, this means you are now human?"

"Not exactly but almost…I don't have powers and I can't change to my true form,"

"That's good actually," he said contemplatively.

What does he mean it's good. She looked at him.

"How can that be good? I am powerless, I can't even do physical activities, it makes me break out in sweat and I am sure, I almost melted into a puddle!" she said indignantly.

He chuckled.

"That's called being human. Congratulations, you are now on trial as a human," he said, grinning.

She glared at him. He thinks it is all a joke.

"That's not funny Kav. I lost all my powers! I even have to clean stuffs manually, ugh," she shuddered delicately.

He laughed.

"Don't worry," he started to say and she perked up.

"Oh, you will do it? Thank you Kavan! You are the best boyfriend ever!" she kissed him out of gratitude.

"You didn't even let me finish what I was about to say,"

"You don't have to…we are so in tune with each other, I already know what you are about to say," she said loftily.

He shook his head incredulously.

"No, I was about to say that I will teach you now to do it like how normal humans do it," he said.

She widened her eyes.

"What? Nooooo,"

"Yesssss…."

He linked his hands with hers and pulled her up from her chair and pulled her close to him. He planted a kiss on her lips.

"I have missed you Sab," he murmured. Then he released her.

"So, better get to the cleaning up so that we can go get dinner, I am hungry,"

She rolled her eyes at him.

"You are mean!" she said but went into the studio anyway, muttering under her breath. Kavan joined her a few minutes later and helped her wipe down all of the mats and the glass walls.

They were done in 30 minutes.

"Let's get home, I am suddenly hungry for you," Kavan whispered to her. This made her pulse race. She hurriedly gather up her bag and followed him. The cleaning was a drag but what they will be doing later will be a lot more fun.
